I live in N.W. Missouri and have several disorders that cause pain. For example, dural ectasia from my Marfans Syndrome and Chronic Pancreatitis among a couple others. Doctors here will not prescribe pain medication not actually am I able to get my phenergan for nausea so I can maybe eat. The Pain clinics around here treat back problems since that seems to be where the money is. I dont know what to do but i do have documented proof of my pain and issues. Any help would be great. thanks ## Hello, A regular primary care doctor should be able to prescribe you Phenergan since it is just an antihistamine/antiemetic. In regards to finding a local pain doctor, I have listed below a couple websites specific to locating pain management doctors in a given area. All you have to do is input your ci...

I just moved to stella MO near Joplin, i dont know the area well, but my oldest son has MD and spinal rods put in his back, he has been in a wheelchair since 3 years old, he is grown now, but i dont know where to take him, he is on lortab, soma and xanax along with many other non narcotics pills. Does anyone know where i can take him and they will not treat him like a pill head, and that would take his insurance, he is on SSI Thanks a worried mom ## Put, Missouri HealthNet Provider Search, in your search bar. Be sure to call and verify that a dr does accept medicaid. You also need to contact your sons Health Plan and be sure that the dr is on their plan. There is no guarantee that another dr will treat him with the same meds as his last dr. The new dr should also get a copy of his medic...

What and Where is this OCH place they talk about. I see a lot of posts are 3 to 5 years old. Anything current? My husband has been in chronic pain for years and they keep taking MRI's and scans....we really have no clear answer on teh results except they look good!! Then why is he in hellish pain all the time? We have gone to 2 pain management clinics and neither one prescribes pain meds and you have to wait 3 to 6 weeks for an injection appointment! What is he to do in the mean time...just suffer? ## Those are older posts and there are no simple answers except to say things are only becoming more restrictive without tangible documentation of a condition (i.e.;mri,cat scan, Xray) most General practioners are extreamly hesitent to prescribe opiate like narcotics. i have been on Xanax for 30 years. Now my doctor moved and I'm seeing one in KS who calls me in randomly for a U/A!! I have never been in any trouble and I'm 51, not going to be treated like I'm on parol. ## Hello, Greg! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems that you're experiencing. However, since Xanax is a controlled substance that is frequently abused, doctors do have to be very careful about prescribing it and most are going to make you do similar things, in order to continue having it prescribed. Many do random pill counts, too. This medication is most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, mood swings and irritability, this medication also carries the risk of being habit forming. ...

Have been through just about every injection and nerve frying you can do with no releif. I need to find someone that can help me and not judge me til I can get back to my home state to see my PCP in december. If anyone can recommend a dr or clinic that can help in st louis missouri I would be greatful to say the least. Thanks for your time! ## If you require narcotics for chronic pain, you'll need to see a pain management specialist, due to the new regulations that were put in place last year. PCPs...

I am looking for a doctor near saint Louis MO who prescribes 10mg percocets. I have been diagnosed with lumbosacral stenosis w/o myetomy a couple years back, and have been taking 10mg percocets for pain relief. Recently decided to see what it was like to get off the medications, to see how bad my condition truly was without them. Told the pain doctor I have now that I didn't need prescriptions because I wanted to see what the pain truly was like without them now, and that destroyed my relationship with him because he feels like I am now playing games with him...honestly, I wanted to see if I could live life without them, but have been off them now for a month and a half, and it's been hell, so I truly need the medication from now on regardless. Can anyone tell me a good pain doc...

I originally wrote on 3/16/14 looking for a pain doctor in north central Arkansas or southern Missouri...I live in Mountain Home, AR & am willing to drive to Springfield MO or as far south as Little Rock AR, as far west as Fayetteville or as far east as Jonesboro. I moved from California to Arkansas to be with my sister a year ago & am still unable to find a doctor here who will prescribe the meds I was taking in CA, which were 60 mg MSContin twice daily, 350 mg Soma three times daily, and 1-2 10 mg oxycodone every 4 hrs, plus a 3rd one 45 minutes later if I really needed it. It is like the twilight zone here in AR; every doctor thinks you're a drug addict even though I have all my surgery records, films, discharge instructions (I'd been in a nursing home for 2 yrs befor...

I recently lost my doctor of 20 yrs. and am now trying to find a doctor who understands pain and is willing to prescribe pain medication ## I just moved to the columbia missouri area and am in search of a doctor. I have a long history and all the reasons in the world to need the relief from pain so I can enjoy life with my kids. I deeply miss my Washington DC pain clinic. Who in Missouri understands this? definitely not Boon County Hospital pain mgmt doc Patel. He is a judgmental person that treats you like a drug addict. plus while you wait for an hour for the almighty doctor to enter you get watch millipedes cross the floor. ## I am 51, have severe osteoporosis with 4 fractured vertebrae in my back. My Doctor who prescribed pain medicines in IL died. A new provider took over that pain management clinic and now wants to reiterate me off opiate medication give me nurontin also called gabapentin and give me a pain pump regardless that the specialists in California do not recommend procedures directed at my spine rather recommend conservative theropy and opiate medication for multi level degenerative disc disease in the cervical thoractic and lumbar with spinal stenosis which I've been diagnosed with since 2003 . Can you recommend any doctors in Missouri who will prescribed opiate pain medications for long-term lifelong chronic pain conditions? Help is greatly appreciated in finding another octor who will prescribe pain medications to someone with a well documented severe chronic pain

I am going on vacation in Florida to a wedding. I have a prescription for oxycontin written by much doctor in Missouri. Can I get my prescription filled in Florida? ## Hello, Brett! How are you? It is very doubtful, many people that live in Florida are having problems getting their prescriptions for controlled substances filled there. There are restrictions on how much of them that a pharmacy can order and have in stock each month, this had made it necessary for them to restrict filling such prescriptions to only those who live within a certain radius of their location and whose doctors practice within that radius, as well. This also makes it easier for them to validate the prescription. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habi...

I moved from California to Mountain Home, Arkansas (north-central Arkansas) last year & have been unable to find a pain management doctor. I have seen two doctors. The first one accused me of being a "drug addict" on my first visit despite the fact that I brought all of my surgery records, MRI & X-Ray films, discharge instructions (I'd been staying in a nursing home) & my original medication containers. He was rude, abusive, and would actually yell at me during visits. To my great relief, he finally referred me to another pain mgmt. clinic two hours away. But, guess what, I received the same treatment from the new doctor! I don't want to bore you with all the details but will share some of the facts. I have been in a wheelchair for 9 yrs., I've had 2 lumb...

Hello, I am 39 years old and have been prescribed vyvanse for almost 8 years. Being diagnosed with this as an adult was a game changer for me in so many ways and what I have been able to achieve. Unfortunately, I'm tired of feeling like I'm bothering someone no matter if I'm calling to schedule an appointment, have a question regarding medication or God forbid you would like to speak to the doctor themself. Some of the things I have put up with are mind blowing but I don't know how to find another doctor and I'm afraid of being off my medications. I am a better person, mother, friend, daughter ect.. as long as I do not slip up on appointments and continue to take my meds daily. Anyone with any advice is appreciated! ## Trying to find a doctor to prescribe Adderall or...

I was wheelchair-bound & in constant, horrific pain for eight years despite 2 lumbar surgeries & a C-spine surgery. After my last lumbar surgery, a year in a nursing home with an excellent physical therapist and the right medication my pain was under control...I could finally get out of bed after 8 yrs, walk a half mile, live a relatively normal life...I was even considering a part-time job eventually. This was when I lived in California. 2 yrs ago I moved to Mountain Home AR to be with my sister. I immediately tried finding a doctor here but there was no one willing to help me. When I ran out of the meds I brought from California, I went through severe withdrawal, & back to the unbearable chronic pain for which I considered suicide many times. When Dr. Chatman & Tilley ...

Did you try checking with different pharmacies? ## I live in California and I purchase my Butalbital with codeine at Costco.
