Missing Doses

I can't get my Adderall XR refill for 2 days. I take it as prescribed once per day. I didn't realize the script I had on hand was from over a month ago. Will I have a problem missing Sat and Sunday doses until I can get ahold of my doctor? ## I don't want to seem alarmist or cause you to worry, but it is possible that you may start to experience mild withdrawal symptoms if you are going for 2+ days without your usual dose. One good thing you have going for you is the fact that you are taking it once per day as prescribed, so it's not like you've been dosing your body at abnormally high amounts. can anybody tell me if they are prescribed more than 250mg per day for nuvigil. I take a 250 mg tablet at 8 a.m. and feel like I need another by 2:00 in the afternoon......my day does not end until around 8:oopm --- I gotta be alert, alive and active till then. I was taking Dexedrine for this "breakthrough" period, but that can not be had anywhere!...it's missing on the market, nobody (pharmacies) can get it anymore. Nuvigil has been a miracle med for me, as many of my other psych meds cause extreme fatigue, pdoc prescribed this.....miraculous, not to mention helping me lift out of a two year depression....between this med (nuvigil) and Latuda---my life has finally changed....just trying to work out the kinks. I just started prednisone 10 mg pills for bronchitis and asthma. The dose is 4-3-2-1 3 days each. I lost a pill at the beginning. What is my best day to reduce 1? ## When u r down to two do not take any away from the beginning that is when the medicine that is when the medicine is trying to pounce on the problemwhen you get in a lower doses it doesn't matter as much not really going to text you a whole bunch anywhere but in a perfect world right before the end but not at the end is best but does not so much matter

my daughter is taking oxetol 450mg twice daily . she was seizure free for 1 year after that she missed her medicine three times on seperate days and got attacked what should I do please help ## Hello, Rani! How is your daughter doing? You need to find some way to make sure she doesn't miss anymore doses. Does she has a smart phone? If so, you can get a reminder app, there are several good free ones that will sound an audible alert when it's time for her to take it. Alternatively, leaving notes around in prominent locations may also help. Does anyone else have any other ideas that could help? ## Thank u very much Verwon for your suggestions . I'm trying to manage pain for degenerative stenosis and see that hydrocodone is usually in 5 or 10 mg pills, while oxy, which is supposedly 2+ times stronger, is in 20 , 30 or 40 mg pills. What am I missing here? ## Originally, since it has the Acetaminophen added, the Hydrocodone products, such as Vicodin, Lortab and etc. were meant to be only for short-term use. Just to treat pain that was expected to resolve in a week or two, such as what someone may experience after they've had surgery or been in an accident. My daughte is on neurontin for epilepsy,she also has an arachnoid cyst and an aneurysm. I found out she has skipped three days of doses( I counted her pills). If she's taking it to prevent seizures, then you need to stress to her the importance of taking it all the time, as prescribed. Missing doses, even if someone doesn't have epilepsy, creates the risk of seizures. Since she does have epilepsy, her risk of having a seizure from skipping doses is even higher. While I doubt missing a few doses will cause a significant problem, it's best to check with them to be certain. Tamoxifen is used to treat breast cancer, early breast cancer and as a prevention. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, blurred vision, headache, hot flushes and rash. Is this the only one you're on?

I left my medication at home while traveling. If I miss my amlod/benazp cap 10-20mg dosage for three days...is this okay? ## No, it may actually be very dangerous, missing several doses of blood pressure medications in a row might result in a rebound effect, which could cause severely elevated blood pressure and heart rate. I was on 1,500mg of primidone a few weeks ago and my doctor went down to 500mg.because of a med mistake. It was really helping my mental health. Now i am anxious, irratable and just extremely emotional...what is wrong? I also have been missing some of my doses of saphris...what do i do? ## You are most likely experiencing withdrawal effects, especially coupled with missing doses of your Saphris. Have you informed your doctor of the dosage mistake? The typical side effects of Primidone may possibly include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, weight changes and mood swings.

I take 600mg of gabapentin 3times daily for essential tremor. If I wait too long between doses I become confused dizzy and very tired. Also need to take upon rising in the AM. I Also have parkinsons but meds are not supposed to conflict.(azilect). Gabapentin works great for tremor but scary if I miss a dose. Any one else? ## How long have you been taking it? It's unusual to have a reaction that soon upon missing a dose. Learn more Gabapentin details here. However, since it is happening, what I'd suggest is your setting up some type of reminder system to avoid missing doses. I use an app on my iPhone that beeps whenever I need to take my next dose of medications, but even leaving yourself notes around the house could work. Have you tried any reminder methods?

I ran out of my Diltiazem, have missed 2 does and will miss 2 more before my medication arrives in the mail. The Dr is closed today Sunday and Monday for ML King day. Someone with knowledgeable info please help! This morning i woke up to find my truck had broken into and some items are missing. A laptop, a pocket knife and my meds!! I was at my girlfriends house and i keep an over night bag, with clothes, a toothbrush, deoderant, a contact case and some saline ect. Well i also keep my perscription bottles in there. I dont know why but i didnt take it into the house that night, my meds are two different doses on Lithium, Halpradol, Xanax, and Adderrall. Go figure the only ones taken were the xanax and adderall! i am taking prodep 10 mg for an year and doctor instructed me to take tablet daily for six months and continue the dose for alternate days, but particular day i will forget to take tablet, now i am suffering from head ache and anxiety what is the solutiojn for this? ## Prodep contains the active ingredient Fluoxetine, which is an SSRI antidepressant and yes, missing doses can cause those types of withdrawal/rebound effects. I don't understand, if a pill is 60mg time-released, what's the problem with cutting it? If you get all the med at once you will only get 60mg right? What am I missing? ## Hi Sanaa, To my understanding, it's simply a word of caution to those who may be at risk of overdosing on something their body hasn't yet built a tolerance to (namely when it comes to pain medication, although it could pertain to any drug). Personally, I'd never advise doing so without talking to your doctor or pharmacist first, as there may be immediate-release options available in smaller doses. I have been told by CVS that Diltiazem CD 120 mg cap is discontinued ## I haven't been able to find anything on this, but you are not the first person who has been told that by their pharmacy, so I can only assume that it's correct. The best suggestion I can make in this case is to contact your doctor and ask about getting an alternative medication prescribed. Running out and missing doses could be very dangerous, so you definitely need to avoid doing that.
