Missed Period On Birth Control

Missed several pills had spotting but no period 8 days late ## You need to see your dr. You may or may not be pregnant. The only way to know for sure is to see your dr. ## Missing pills may also throw off your cycle, even if you don't get pregnant. I'd suggest trying a medication reminder app, if you have a smart phone, or some other reminder system, if you aren't pregnant, to make sure that you don't miss more pills in the future. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I am on Sprintec birth control, and I am always bad with taking my pills, and this month I have tried to given myself my period early and I have not had my period. I have had no intercourse/oral and I had to take a pregnancy test last month and it showed up negative and I had a period last month that was slightly worse then my others. I have also had weird things happen like cramps in the morning, and back pain, but I think my back pain is from me getting off my bunk bed is a weird way. Idk if this is influenced by it, or if these random things, THANK YOU. ## Hello, Betsy! How are you doing? How did you try to give yourself your period early? These are hormonal contraceptives, so they can cause some oddities to your cycle. Have you consulted your doctor about it? ## Instead of waiting f...

Hello! I didn't have a tri sprintec birth control packet for a week, and missed a week of those pills. I'm on the second week, and the 4th week is when I'm scheduled to start. My period app says I was supposed to start yesterday 11-30 and now I'm a day late, when will my period start? ## Hello, Shelby! How are you? Missing that week has most likely thrown off your hormonal balance, so your cycle may not follow it's normal track. It can take a couple months for things to settle down and become regular, some women don't have periods on this oral contraceptive, at all. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm on t...

Last month I accidentally took two pills in one day and the next time I just took one like nothing happened. When it was time to take this month's pack I waited and skipped a day to get back on track with the days. I usually get my period Monday night or Tuesday morning but it hasn't came yet. Am I going to get a period? ## Hello, Kay! How are you? Your hormone levels have likely been thrown off, a bit, by the doubling up and then skipping a day. It may take awhile for things to balance back out. Have you gotten your period, yet? You may skip, or it may come later. If you're very concerned, then you should speak to your doctor. The FDA lists the typical side effects of hormonal contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, breakthrough bleed...

I have been taking Sprintec for about 5 years and I have never had this happen until now. On the second Monday of my pack, I completely forgot to take my pill, I discovered this on that Tuesday when I already found out that I was late for Tuesday too. So I took both pills for Monday and Tuesday, both were late. On an unwise decision, I had intercourse on Wednesday afternoon, and on Thursday morning I saw blood on my underwear. I immediately panicked thinking it was "spotting" that occurs when one is pregnant. I tried calling my OB's office asking about what I should do and if I should take a pregnancy test and the nurse said that it was too soon to be able to tell if I were. So I continued to take my pills normally in the mean time. A week of waiting on "spotting" ou...

I have been on this pill since March and only got my period the first month I was on it and it was very light and only lasted a couple of days. haven't gotten it since. I have taken tests...all negative. Any one else experiencing this? ## Since there are hormonal based contraceptive tablets, both of these symptoms can be normal side effects of using the medication. There is really no harm in skipping your menstrual cycle, there are even contraceptives on the market that are specifically designed to let you skip for several months in a row. However, if you are concerned, you should consulted your doctor. Are there any other questions? ## I probably started taking this in April/May. I can't remember exactly. For the first three packs I didn't get a period. On the fourth pack I...

Has anyone been late or missed a period taking mono linyah? This is my second month on it.. I had the nexplanon since February and had it removed last month.. I have missed two days but doubled up on my doses.. ## Hello, Molly! How are you? It can be normal to skip periods, while taking oral contraceptives, according to the FDA. Some women stop having them, entirely. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. However, if you missed pills and engaged in intercourse, there is a slight risk of pregnancy. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I had a surgical abortion almost 4 weeks along and I did not start my birth control (mono linyah) until 3 weeks after the surgery. I did not have intercourse until I began taking my pills and us...

I've been on lomedia 24 fe for 4 months now,I just finished the first week of my white pills in my 4th pill pack. I had my period 10 days ago for one and a half days while I was on the second day of the brown pills. The past couple of days my breasts have been really sore. Is this a normal effect of the birth control? I highly doubt its a pregnancy thing because I take my pills at 11:30 pm every night,I never have missed a pill. Just a wondering if it's normal for me to have sore breasts even though I've been on this pill for a good 3 months and 7 days. Oh and I also have irregular bleeding from time to time. Advice?? ## Hello, Kat234! How are you? I'm sorry about the issue that you're having. But yes, those are listed as possible side effects of oral contraceptives ...

I started my period on Wednesday the 3rd of April and started previfem on the following Sunday which was the 6. Femaine is a white pill with a 21 day cycle. I've been taking Lo Loestrin Fe at the same time every day consistantly for two months with no period... is this normal? ## Yes, it can be. These do contain hormones, to prevent pregnancy and they can affect different people in different ways. Some women will menstruate regularly and some won't. There is really no harm in skipping, but if you are concerned about it, you should consult your doctor. Many women use their birth control to skip their menstrual cycle, especially for important events, such as marriage or vacations. I've been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 4 months now. I always bled every other week so I was never afraid of missing a period because I got then all the time. However, last month I missed my period which I read is normal for this birth control. We use condoms and pull out. When I missed my period I still took the two white and two brown pills. I still have not had my period and it's been a week since I've missed and took those pills. Do the brown pills still protect from pregnancy if you did not start your period? Or are they just sugar pills and I should be worried now of maybe being pregnant because they weren't actually birth control? ## I forgot to mention that we do not always begin with a condom but by the time he finishes, we've put one on and he still pulls out. ## ...

I have been on birth control since the age of 15 (5 years now) first it was Yaz then OrthoTriCyclen and now Lo Estrin Fe. The LoEstrin has worked amazingly for me and I have been on it for about a year and a half now. While I don't always take the pills the same time of the day, and I have missed one or two pills our of the year, I have always had a 2 or 1 day period no matter if I take the pills completely on time that whole month or if I skip the timing or a day. Sometimes I have had extremely heavy flow if I forget a pill that month, but otherwise, It has been a reliable period on this pill. This past month, I took all of my pills on the day they were supposed to be taken and I have experienced no period. I had mildly discolored discharge during my inactive pills and am concerned...

OK, so I was on lutera first for 5 months. I got off it around like beginning of Feb then I got onto lo loerestrin fe. I missed pill the first month but I still bled 2 times that month. Now I am more consistent and took every pill around the hour I'm supposed to and of course I had just 2 little tiny spots of blood, that was it and I've been cramping and no bleeding. I never missed a period but I am new to birth control pills. The first was that lutera and I'm 29 with 1 daughter. I been on this lo loerestrin fe for at least 4.5 months now and I always bled the first 3 months of it and now I have no period not even consider spotting only 2 little spot when wiped that was it tried tampon and no blood. i have missed my dronis 30 tablet for 3 days. now it had started an early period. what to do now? ## Hi, at this point you are no longer protected against pregnancy, so you'll need to use some other back up method of birth control for awhile, such as condoms, or abstain. It is also advisable to just start a new pack of pills, you will be protected from pregnancy again after you have taken them continuously for 7 days in a row. Are there any other questions I can help with?

I have been on the birth control aubra for 5 months and usually bled during my 7 day placebo week. However I recently changed brands to lo loestrin fe. I finished the whole pack and I have not gotten my period I'm a little nervous but I always took my pills on time and never missed one. I didn't spot or have any break through bleeding either. I started a pack when I would have started my old birth control pack as that's what the website told me to do. Is there any way that I could be pregnant or is missing a period normal? ## The only way to be sure, of course, is to check for pregnancy, but skipping periods, or having irregular cycles can be normal side effects of oral contraceptives, according to FDA reports. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, and h...

I am taking sprintec for migraine prevention, not birth control. I typically take 3 months of active pills beck taking a week off to have a period. I missed 3 days in a row during my second pack of active pills. I tried to catch up by taking two a day, but it was too late and a full blown period started. So i stopped taking them in the hopes of letting the period run its course. It has been 5 days of (very) heavy bleeding now, with clots. I have stopped the pill for 3 days now. When should I restart, or should i see if bleeding stops? ## It really would have been best, according to FDA directions, to have continued taking them, this can happen if you miss to many in a row, but should resolve itself, once you complete your next cycle. Other side effects are listed as possibly including n...

I started taking this birth control in Sept 2016. It has been great taking this pill until I missed my period on the last week of Jan and I just took my last brown pill before starting a new pack and nothing. I have cramps, but i havent started. I've been active, but we use protection every time. Should I be concerned? ## There is never any harm in checking for pregnancy, if you're concerned, but it can be normal to skip periods while taking an oral contraceptive, according to NIH reports, some women stop experiencing periods altogether, while taking them. Other side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am 22 years old and on my second pack of Loestrin (week 2). I've never missed a period on any birth control, including the IUD Mirena... I always have very regular 7 day heavy periods, so you would think I'd be happy about not having one now. NOT the case. I am now 11 days late on my period. (First day of last period was 11/25/13). So far I have taken 3 early detection pregnancy tests (First Response Gold). I took one the day after my missed period (evening), one 5 days later (morning urine) and one again today (11 days late, morning) -- ALL NEGATIVE. I never intended to get pregnant (obviously, as I'm only 1.5 months into my birth control), but I actually started to get my hopes up after being so late on my period and now I'm a little disappointed to be experiencing a...
