after taking chantix for the first month a delay in my prescription refill caused me to not have chantix for 3 days. At what dosage should I resume taking it? ## Hi Buck, According to the Chantix site, If you miss a dose you should take it as soon as you remember. That being said, I would just stick with your normal dosage and pick up where you left off. You can view their webpage for more info: chantix.com/how-to-take.aspx I hope this helps!

I usually put my Lexapro tablet in my back pocket before taking with dinner. Recently I found a tablet in my pocket which I guess I forgot to take at some point. The same week I had noticed feeling some of my old symptoms back after feeling ok for some weeks I'm wondering if missing one tablet could have caused that relapse ? For example, does the tablet I take today help me for the next 24 hours ? Or is its affect less direct and more cumulative over time ? Hope somebody understands my question ! ## Hello, Fred! How are you doing? Has there been any change? No, usually missing only one dose shouldn't cause such issues, though I do highly recommend finding a better storage spot for your pills, your back pocket is not idea. The FDA suggests investing in an inexpensive pill carrie...

I take 600mg of gabapentin 3times daily for essential tremor. If I wait too long between doses I become confused dizzy and very tired. Also need to take upon rising in the AM. I Also have parkinsons but meds are not supposed to conflict.(azilect). Gabapentin works great for tremor but scary if I miss a dose. Any one else? ## How long have you been taking it? It's unusual to have a reaction that soon upon missing a dose. Learn more Gabapentin details here. However, since it is happening, what I'd suggest is your setting up some type of reminder system to avoid missing doses. I use an app on my iPhone that beeps whenever I need to take my next dose of medications, but even leaving yourself notes around the house could work. Have you tried any reminder methods?

I have been taking concor 5mg for 1.5 years. I have HOCM and im not sure if i took my medication today. Will anything happen if i just wait for the next dose, as I don't want to take one now and then it might be an overdose, so bettter be safe and just wait for my next dose. Is that correct? ## What did you end up doing? Concor contains the active ingredient Bisoprolol, which is a beta blocker that's commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. And missing a dose could cause a dangerous rebound effect that may result in severely elevated blood pressure and heart rate, so it's very important to be careful that you take all doses each day, exactly as prescribed. I think that I missed my dose today at 1:30, but I'm not sure? Will I be ok to wait until tomorrow to take it? Also should I wait the entire 24 hours or just take it in the morning? ## Hello, Chad! How are you? What did you end up doing? It is always best to check with your doctor regarding what you should do in such a situation, however, in some instances, it is safer to take an extra dose, rather than risk skipping one. Since missing a dose could cause dangerous rebound elevations to your heart rate and blood pressure, which could lead to heat attack, or stroke, according to the AMA. However, doubling up just once, usually only results in your experiencing more side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination, as listed by the FDA. Now, of course, there a...

I am trying to conceive. doctor prescribed me ovashield capsules. but somehow I forgot to have the capsule for 17th day. now on 18th what shall I do? shall I have the capsule for 18th day or 17th day? does missing capsule affect negatively in any way. ## Hi zedgal, In many cases, when you miss a dose, the instructions state that you should pick up from where you left off by taking it at the next dosing interval (so as to keep you on your original schedule). However when it comes to these types of medications that help improve female fertility, I don't think the repercussions of missing a dose are really that significant in the long run. Although I'm sure it does take away from the overall efficacy of the drug itself. How long are you supposed to be taking it before noticing poss...

I have been on Sprintec for over 10yrs now. This week I missed my pill on Thursday night and Saturday night, which was my "week 3" row. I had intercourse with my partner Tuesday night, but haven't had any since because I rather be safe then sorry. What I did was on Thursday morning when I realized I had not taken my pill the night before, I took it and then continued my schedule as always. I have been spotting because I was about to start my cycle which actually came tonight (Sunday). Tonight when I realized I had not taken my last week 3 pill the night before, I took it immediately along with my Sunday (white, sugar pill). My question is, are there any chances of me being pregnant due to this? ## Any time you miss a pill for more than 24 hours, there is a risk of pregnancy,...

I can't remember if I took my bedtime dose of clindamycin. Should I just wait until the morning dose. ## Hello, Judy! How are you? That is one option, the other would be to count the remaining tablets to see if you took it, or not. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. A pharmacy error caused me to miss 21 doses of hydrochlorothiazide (25 mg once daily). Can I expect side effects now that I have started taking it again? ## Yes, it is possible that you might. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. With that bad of an error, I must ask if you've considered switching to a different pharmacy? That is just horrible. Are you on any other medications?

Hi I was a week late with my lanreotide injection last month do I take this months on the date I should normally take it or do I take it a week late to make it the 4 weeks cycle? Many thanks Barbara ## Hi Barbara, From what I could gather, Lanreotide is usually given every 4 weeks for 3 months at a time. However, the prescribing packet for this drug notes that you should "contact your doctor for instructions if you miss an appointment for your lanreotide injection." So at this point it is now in your doctor's power to decided whether or not he should alter your dose of Somatuline Depot or the length of time in-between injections, based on his judgement towards your response to therapy. Have you not already discussed this with your doctor?

Has anyone ever experienced this? I've taken pristiq for about 2 years for anxiety and other than the very rare breakthrough anxiety, I've been really happy with it. For the past 2-3 days, I've been having brain zaps though and I haven't changed any of my meds or missed any. Same meds/dose, taken at the same time of day for years, so I wonder what's causing this now? The only recent lifestyle change I've made is starting to excercise an hour a day for 5 days/wk and eating better because I need to lose weight. I've been doing that for about 7 weeks and have lost around 20 lbs. I've dieted and excercised while taking this med before though and don't remember the zaps happening. They're mild in comparison to those I've had when I'd miss a cou...
