Mirtazapine Back Pain

Hello, I am taking 30mg daily before going to bed (male, 43 yo). I have started with a very low dosage of 7.5mg and over the course of about 1.5 months I reached the current level. I experienced clear drowsiness (which is a good as I was having trouble sleeping) and dry mouth from the beginning. While the effect of drowsiness right after taking the pill persists, the dry mouth seems to be mostly reduced (80% from the top at the beginning). The reason why I'm writing is a strange back pain that started about 6-7 weeks ago. Here is why I find it strange and why I would like to hear from others if they experienced it like this: 1. I wake up every morning with acute back pain over all my back (bottom to below the neck) 2. Due to the pain I can hardly move in bed when I wake up. Often it...

been taking mirtazapine 15 for lower back pain (degenerative condition)for 3wks yesterday was my first day for more than 1 year without painkillers - remedine forte - they did not take pain away!! had tried physio, reiki, etc etc had tried amytripaline -did not work- only downside are the weird dreams but a small price to pay for painrelief. I was not offered this med by my gp but having read about it I asked for it ## The weird dreams are too be expected, since Mirtazapine is a NaSSA, which means it does have an effect on brain chemicals. However, the good news is they will most likely taper off in frequency and severity after a few more weeks, once your body is more used to the medication. Learn more Mirtazapine details here. I'm glad that it's working for you, though. That...

SMALL GREEN ROUND PILL WITH AN A ON TOP AND 214 ON THE BOTTOM ## Pill Image THIS IS NOT MIRTAZAPINE!!! This is a narcotic pain reliever, Oxycodone 15mgs, Instant Release, a generic for Oxyfast. Mirtazapine is an antidepressant, so not even related to this. ## Verwon correct as usual. This is 15mg IR Oxycodone HCl made by Actavis. The A215 blue pill of same size and design is 30mg.

Starting Paxil from Mirtazapine, all the hype of Mirtazapine is wrong. It works for about 3 weeks, then pooooooph done. Has anyone tapered to Paxil from Mirtazapine? IF SO, WAS IT PAINLESS OR POINTLESS? ## Not every medication works for everyone that tries it. I am sorry the Mirtazapine didn't work well for you, but there are many people that do experience good results with it. Paxil always worked well for my ex-husband, though I've not taken it myself. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, mood swings, and weight changes. Can anyone that's switched from one to the other chime in with their experiences?

Taking mirtazapine 7.5 MG @ Bedtime to sleep for about 6 days. Iintermittent ntense pain right hip and groin when I move into a different position, started yesterday suddenly, no injury, just walking in house. sciatic nerve pain in past never hurt testicle. acedamaphin 1000 dampen pain, could this be a side effect of medicine? ## Is it just on one side of the body, or both? The FDA classifies Mirtazapine as an antidepressant and it has been known to cause some back pain, as a side effect, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weakness. But there's also a chance that could be due to a pinched nerve, if it's happening when you change positions. Have you had this checked out by your doctor, yet?

can anyone advise me how to reduce my dosage from 45mg down ## Hello, Tommie! How are you? You should follow you doctor's instructions. Generally, the modern preferred method is to have someone gradually reduce their dosage, while starting to skip days, such as going down to 40mgs on Monday, then skipping Tuesday, then taking the 40mgs again on Wednesday. Do that for a week, then reduce to 35mgs the next week and so on. The FDA lists the possibly withdrawal effects as including nausea, dizziness, fever, chills, rebound pain, depression and mood swings. Is there anything else I can help with?

I had previously worked as a police officer for just short of 3 decades, and the last 15 years of that was as an undercover narcotics investigator. I had not slept more than 4 hours in the last 20 years . I absolutely knew something was very wrong with my body, constantly exhausted, very negative attitude, and i had bad aches and pains, its just goes on and on. I retired and decided to sit down with a doctor and "lay it all out on the line, then let the chips fall where they may, no lies, nothing held back" I soon discovered something called a 96 hour commitment order, which i narrowly escaped by having to lie to keep from a locked down mental evaluation. my problems are manifested from 10 years of assisting in many dead body removals while assisting ems, picking up body parts fr...

Have stopped taking Mirtazapine because of excrutiating pain in my legs whilst on it. I have had cold / freezing feet for years but when on Mirt my feet were always warm and toasty. Does anyone know why this should be and what ingredient would have been responsible?? It was lovely to have warm feet and be able to wear little shoes rather than boots and socks all the time and I would take a 'warm feet' pill if I knew of one provided it didn't have painful side effects! ## Hello, Lesley! How are you? It sounds like you may have Raynauds Phenomenon, which is a syndrome where your circulation is kind of screwed up, so your hands and feet get cold easily. It can happen due to various weather conditions, medications, or emotional stress, as reported by the NIH. I suffer from it my...

Hi, iv only been taking 15mg Mirtazapine for a week and doubled the dose to 30mg last night. It had helped me sleep up until i doubled the dose. Although i wanted to sleep i had terrible aching in my hip, knee and shoulder bones. I am still aching today but not as bad. I may think its my bones andit may even be muscular but the pain was so intence i just could not sleep. I have been experiencing muscle twitching whilst taking the 15mg but that was mild, this was unbearable. Has any one else experienced this please? Thanks ## That type of aching may be the sign of a serious side effect, so you should contact your doctor about it. Learn more Mirtazapine details here. It might be that it's just not the right medication for you and you may need to try something else. Have you looked into...

I recently started taking Mirtazapine for depression. I started at 15 mg. and this was increased to 30 mg after about four weeks. I have started to suffer almost debilitating lower back pain on a daily basis which I do understand is a rare but potential side effect. In addition, my hands are slightly swollen and any repeated use of my hands/fingers also results in severe pain. The hand pain will subside after I stop whatever I was doing. In addition, I sometimes lose feeling in my hands (almost like a lack of blood supply) and when I change their position, I experience "pins and needles". Has anyone else had this combination of symptoms? Will they resolve themselves over time or should I have my Doctor switch me to something else? Any feedback would be appreciated. ## I have sto...

I was on 30mg of mitprtazipine for 18 months, I came off them at the end if January as I could not stand the terrifying nightmares I was having, since then I have suffered with a fatty liver and chronic lower back, pain between my shoulder blades and muscle pain, have tried all methods of relief, chiropractor , osteopath, massage and all kinds of pain relief, nothing so far is having any effect , would like to know if anyone else has suffered anything similar. ## HI Liz, Sorry to hear about your situation with mirtazapine. Regarding your question on other user's personal experiences with this drug, I actually came across a fairly large discussion thread here talking about the 'dangers of mirtazapine' and how others have managed to cope with it, at: Discuss/dangers-of-mirtaza...

I have MS pretty much in the advanced stage in the first night while on mirtazapine I got strong electric shock pain in both legs coming and going – totally unbearable! These pretty much ceased to exist although coming back a different form every now and then but now the latest that has been excruciating pain in one or the other feet. Since mirtazapine works along the nerve pathways, making them stronger, I've read – this makes sense a definite no-no for someone with pain there already! Duh – Dr. "specialists"! ## I was given Mirtazapine about 2 weeks ago to help with sleep, took 15mg before bed as directed, went sleepy. Very next morning got electric shock sensation from leg into foot, kept taking dose, electric shock / zap / pins-and-needles thing keeps h...

Im hurting always wanted some help ## Hi Ronbo, Sorry to hear about your pain. Have you sought out any sort of treatment to manage it? I did find a yellowish/peach colored oblong pill with a capital "A" on one side and "0 | 8" on the other, separated by a score line. Depending on how you hold it, it could be "8 | 0"... At any rate, this particular pill is identified as a 15mg mirtazapine tablet used for treating depression. Please post back if there's anyway I or someone else may be of help.

Marazipe with lithium..thyroid meds..larazidine and 1/2 sleep aid. My stomache has started to ache and have to keep running to restroom. I have sopped nuts..popcorn..dairy... Very agruvating. ## Did you mean Mirtazapine? I'm unsure, because there are several similar medication names. Can you please check the spelling of your medications and post back? As reported by the FDA, most antidepressants can cause diarrhea and stomach pain as side effects, along with headache, dizziness and weight gain. Usually, such side effects are transient and taper off, as your body adjusts to the medication.

round orange pill nothing on other side ## Hello, I believe I have identified your pill as Mirtazapine (15 mg); which is used in the treatment of major depressive disorder and other mood disorders and more. Side effects can include (but are not limited to): Dizziness, blurred vision, sedation, somnolence, malaise, increased appetite, weight gain (as a result of increased appetite), dry mouth, constipation, and joint and muscle pain. The pill I found is almost an exact match to the one you've described. It is a round yellow pill (but appears to be orange) with 9 3 (divided by a score line) on one side, and 7206 on the other side. Maybe the other imprint got smudged off at some point? Manufacturer: Teva Pharmaceuticals USA National Drug Code (NDC): 00093-7206 Do you think this could b...

I am taking many medications at this time, due to having five major surgeries, in the last 7 months. I know what all the others are for, but for some reason, even my pharmacist couldn't tell me what it was. I need to know what it's for, before using it. I take many prescribed pills, that are not taken for the reason they were meant for. I take Seroquel, but it's to help me sleep. I also take Mirtazapine, also to help me sleep. I have Amerge pills for my migraines, I also take Lipitor for my for cholesterol, Ativan 2 mg. to help me sleep, Percocets and Demerol for my pain, and Prevacid Fastabs 30 mg. I also take Lasix, but I take it for my blood pressure. I would like to know what this medication is, and what it's prescribed for, before taking it. Thank-you so much for yo...
