Mi Doctors Who Prescribe Methadone For Pain

My mother was prescribed methadone for her Neuropathy while living in Florida. Since then she has moved back to Michigan by necessity. She left her job to move to Georgia with her husband who was a military vet. He got OxyContin from the V.A. Hospital in Atlanta for his back issues. With her having no insurance he used to share with her. Now he's dead and we moved her back here to Michigan. She still has no insurance except Medicare A&B. she's almost out of meds and the pain she will experience is excruciating. The docs she has seen here all want her to jump thru hoops to make sure she's not a drug addict. Struggled with severe migraines since childhood. Double Visio, nausea, was on imitrex, torodol, topaz, too many yo name. Finally found relief with generic hydro of one, but then decided to manage everything by switching to suboxone. Since the pain factor is not effected one way or another, a friend had mentioned her chronic pain controlled by methadone. Don’t know where in Columbia SC to find a doctor or if this is some place you have to visit everyday. That would be expensive gas and interfere with my career.

I have been on methadone for about 6 years and had to start going to a maintenance clinic a few yrs ago after my pain dr lost his license here in Phoenix, Arizona. I tried going to another pain clinic after mine closed but they wanted me off the methadone and forced me to taper off of it in one week and demanded I took gabapentin which DOES NOT work and they didn't care. Anyways, I went to mmt clinic and have been there since but there are so many things wrong with it, I'd end up writing a book. Both my husband and I have been on methadone for pain mgmt for over 5 yrs. Need to find a VA doctor at one of the clinics in Huntsville,al. Who prescribe pain meds for RA. I have a valid pain issue and my doctor took me off hydrocodone 10/325. Those helped me get out of bed without groaning and acheing for 20 min before i can get up. Now i am in pain and my doctor just wants to give me ultram. This med in no way helps.
