What Is The Difference Between Metropolol 25 mg Er And Metropolol 25 mgTart? ## The ER stands for extended release, that means that formulation of Metoprolol is slowly released in your body, over time, rather than all at once, like the standard medication that the other one is. Sometimes, when a patient is taking the regular release to treat high blood pressure or a cardiac condition, it helps, but doesn't keep it under control for a very long period of time and in those cases, it may be necessary for a doctor to switch someone to the time released formulation, to keep the medication in their body longer. After many years on Lisinopril Hydrochlorothiazide my doctor switched me to a combination of 50 mg of Metropolol with 10 mg Amlodipine. I was stage II hypertensive even on 40/25 of the Lisinopril with readings averaging 184/94. The new combination has lowered the BP to about 134/82 on average, but I constantly have this weird pressure in my head like it's going to explode. Not exactly a headache, but a weird pressure. And I just don't feel well. I've been on this for 2 weeks. Has anyone else ever experienced this? It doesn't really fit the listed side effects. It rather scares me. I asked the doc and she was stumped, told me to try for another week or so. ## Is there any way you can describe it more specifically? I'm sorry, but that is rather vague. I understand if y...

I was put on lisinopril 6 months ago by my pcp. I have had different side effects that come and go during the entire time (dizziness, lightheaded, nausea, flushing, hot hands and feet, then tingling). About two weeks ago I had a lot of flushing, but my blood pressure was fine. In fact twice it dropped down too low, 80/53 then went right back up. One day my heart starts racing and fluttering. I think it's a panic attack, ignoring it, and long story short was admitted to the hospital with a new diagnosis of Afib with RVR. They finally helped convert me back to a sinus rhythm overnight.
