What Is The Difference Between Metropolol 25 mg Er And Metropolol 25 mgTart? ## The ER stands for extended release, that means that formulation of Metoprolol is slowly released in your body, over time, rather than all at once, like the standard medication that the other one is. Sometimes, when a patient is taking the regular release to treat high blood pressure or a cardiac condition, it helps, but doesn't keep it under control for a very long period of time and in those cases, it may be necessary for a doctor to switch someone to the time released formulation, to keep the medication in their body longer. Metoprolol is a beta blocker and may cause side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, headache and stomach pain. Learn more: Are there any other questions or comments?

Been taking lisin 20mg. 2 tabs, bp is 127/83 Doctor added metrpol tar 25mg twice a day, wondering why as bp doesnt sound that high ## No, that isn't high, at all. Doctors usually don't fret about those types of numbers. Did you ask your doctor why they were adding it? Have you possibly had an elevated heart rate? The concern is the synchronicity of the medications, usually taking two causes them to work synergistically, so you get even more lowering of your blood pressure and heart rate. Thus, at 127/83, you could end up with it dropping too low, if you take both.

Mydoctor wants me to take this instead of a generic for it. It is very much more expensive than the generic. What is the difference. Thank you for your answer. . ## This is a generic, but it is a time released formulation and yes, they are usually more expensive than the regular release formulations. However, having the medication release slowly over a certain time period, can give better control of blood pressure and cardiac conditions. Learn more Metoprolol details here. Hi, i would really appretiate it if someone could give me advice. I have had heart problems since i was a teen. Nothing serious but when i recently(finally) got it checked out the doctor perscirbed me, Metropolol 25mgs. Long story short, it was great. I was able to excersice without palpatations, or feeling like blacking out. Anyway, i dont have insurance anymore and i cant refill untl i get an X-Ray and have a doctor give me another script..Jesus Christ! I cant afford that. And, well looky here, conditions get worse when stopping? Wow i love doctors.. I can rant about how strongly i disagree on docotrs handing out scripts to patients and watching them either get hooked on pain killers, or go crazy on happy pills to only fix them by giving them more pills! Anyway, well i am getting a lo...

I have a matroplol prescription I've been taken for a few months since I had a stent. I have been getting anxiety and my family doctor told me to double my dose from 50mg to 100mg. A week or so after increasing the dose, I've been experiencing dizzieness daily. Could the added motropolol be causing the dizzieness. ## Yes, it certainly could be causing it and it can do so in a few different ways. One could be if this dosage is too high for you and your blood pressure is going too low and the other could be just as a side effect of the higher dosage. Learn more Metoprolol details here. Have you checked your blood pressure recently? What have the levels been?

After many years on Lisinopril Hydrochlorothiazide my doctor switched me to a combination of 50 mg of Metropolol with 10 mg Amlodipine. I was stage II hypertensive even on 40/25 of the Lisinopril with readings averaging 184/94. The new combination has lowered the BP to about 134/82 on average, but I constantly have this weird pressure in my head like it's going to explode. Not exactly a headache, but a weird pressure. And I just don't feel well. I've been on this for 2 weeks. Has anyone else ever experienced this? It doesn't really fit the listed side effects. It rather scares me. I asked the doc and she was stumped, told me to try for another week or so. ## Is there any way you can describe it more specifically? I'm sorry, but that is rather vague. I understand if y...
