I've been taking METOPROLOL TARTRATE 50MG tablets, white, round, with # 477 from Walgreens. Recently switched to Walmart and transferred prescription. The Walmart pill is pink, round with # C74. I have been on Metoprolol ER TAB SUC 50 mg (75 mg in morning and 75 mg in evening) for a long time. These were round white pills with"M50" on one side and a score line on the other side. I understand the "ER" stands for Extended Release. When my prescription ran out, I contacted the pharmacy for a refill. Instead of sending me the same medication, they sent me a 3-month supply of Metoprolol TAB TAR 50 mg. These are round pink pills, a little smaller than the white pills. On one side they have a score line with "93" above the score line and "733" below the score line. The other side is plain, with no markings at all. how does this compare with metropolo extended release 50 mg? ## It is the same medication, in the same dosage, however, the extended release means that it's specially designed to release the total dosage of the medication over the relevant time period, where the regular release doesn't do that.
