I used to take 25mg of metoprolol er succinate for 2 yrs. Dr. Moved up dosage to 50 mg a month ago and I am sooo tired. I take it with dinner around 6 each evening. it is a pink pill with number m 32 on it i want to to know what it is for ## i take this medication twice daily. it is for people with high blood pressure but my doctor also found that it slows my heart rate down. i live with a pulse of approx. 125-135 on a normal bases. i take 1/2 a pill morning and night. i've been taking it for about 2 years now and it seems to do the trick. metoprolol tarta is the off brand of the prescription drug lopressor. ## I also take this drug to help reduce my blood pressure. I take 5mg Crestor and 81 mg baby aspirin together at NIGHT before bed and take 1400 mg fish oil in the morning. Been taking metoprolol 25mg tartrate twice daily and by the time I go to bed and fall asleep by bloodpressure spikes during the night. Don't know if the meds have worn off during the night or if I should be taking another pill before bed. Tried to get a hold of my doctor but he is out on vacation. My husband takes 12.5 mg metoprolol in the morning and his lisinopril 2.5 at night. His cardiologist said to take 12.5 metoprolol in the am and another 12.5 in the pm. Our question is can the two medications together cause his no to get too low? He was put on the lisinopril to thin his blood since he is diabetic. I have been on Metoprolol by Parr for 5 years. I recently moved and had to fill my prescription at CVS. It was a different shaped pill so I called them. All they said that it was made by Ethex instead of by Parr and that it was the same pill that I was taking. HOWEVER, after taking 3 pills, I got up in the middle of the night, got out of bed and fainted. I called CVS the following morning and they said that it definitely could be the Ethex manufacturer because it has different fillers than the one made by Parr. My blood pressure was 90 over 60. So my card. Put me on met25mg once a day and I wad feelinh the lovely initial side effects that you've all described. I exolained this to him and he decided to have me stop taking it. I asked if my doseage shpuld be reduced or if I should just stop taking it. He told me that I'm on such a low dose that I shall be fine to just stop abruptly. The next day I stopped and my heart rate wad resting at 115 all day. By 6pm my bp was spiking at 170/100 and a heart rate of 130.
