My doctor just put on Metoprolol ER Succinate 25 mg is this part of the recent recall? ## Metoprolol is a beta blocker that is used to treat hypertension and some cardiac problems. As to whether or not it was part of the recall, I can't tell you anything, without knowing the manufacturer of the particular pills you have receive, since this a generic that is made by several different companies and not all were involved in the recall. However, it is doubtful that they are, since your pharmacy would have already removed anything that met the criteria of the recall from their shelves and returned them, so they are not dispensed to the public. This medication may cause side effects, such as: nausea, dizziness, stomach pain and headache. Learn more: Are there any other questions?

Herbal ? ## Hi Jaclyn, Although I'm not a doctor, I would probably suggest leaning towards a more natural approach if you don't want to worry about having quite as many side effects. I have been having palpitations every day suddenly for the past 3 weeks. My doctor put me on .5mg of xanax assuming it was anxiety. I decided to stop takimg the xanax after reading about how addictive it can be and my doctor started me on a beta blocker(metoprolol 25mg) to stop my palpitations amd trips to the ER until he figures out what the cause is since all of my blood work has come back perfectly fine. He told me to take half of the 25mg pill once a day as i need it. Its working for me so far but its only been a couple days. Is it ok to stop taking this medicine if i dont need it anymore since i am only taking half of the 25mg pill once a day? Ive read plenty about having to wing yourself off of this medicine but im guessing i dont have to do any winging since i am already at the l...

So I was prescribed Metoprolol for high BP and have taken it for a total of about 8 years. It was horrible in the beginning - weird, vivid nightmares, constant fatigue, weight gain..but I kept on because I thought that I had to for my BP. Probably a bad decision. My dosage has been as high as 100mg in the beginning, and was gradually lowered by the doctor over the years. Most recently for about the last year I had taken a half of a 25mg per day, so a pretty low dose. I started to feel as if this medicine was hurting more than helping so I asked the doctor who said that I could wean off. So I did for about two weeks - a half of a 25mg every other day, then stopped. The last pill I took was about two months ago. I still feel as if I'm having withdrawal, but is that still possible two ...

I was prescribed MT 25mg twice daily by the ER doctor after 3 visits of increased heart rate. Was diagnosed with sinus tarchycardia. It has helped my episodes but my bp has dropped to 94/55. PLEASE REPLY SOON ## Tablets can be cut, or split, unless they are time released formulations and/or your doctor or pharmacist has instructed you otherwise. Are you having any symptoms from your BP being that low, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and etc? I took Metoprolol tartrate tabs 50 mg,mfg by greenstone, is this the same drug? ## The 25mg would be a lower dosage and the ER designates the 25mg one as being a time released formulation. Metoprolol is a beta blocker used to treat high blood pressure and cardiac conditions, Did your doctor make this change in the dosing and formulation? Such changes shouldn't be made, without your doctor's approval, because sudden changes to the dosing of this medication may cause rebound effects, which could include elevated heart rate and blood pressure.
