Metoprolol Depression

I have been taking Metoprolo 25 mg twice a day for a month and am finding that it makes me feel lethargic with bouts of depression. Is this normal? Will the effects decrease as my body becomes accustom to it? ## The depression is listed as a serious side effect that SHOULD NOT be tolerated for any length of time, as it could be dangerous, PLEASE SPEAK TO YOUR DOCTOR!

What's the connection between metoprolol tartrate and depression? I'm on 50mg tablets twice a day and by the end of the day I'm ready to cry for no reason. I used to take 12.5mg but wasn't doing its job of lowering my BP. I have been on carvedilol 12.5 mg twice a day for about 2 months and am wondering if it might be the cause of what i would describe as mild to major panic attacks as soon as i wake up. They are scary. I am filled with a sense of doom. I am tired but get up ,drink some coffee and toast and start moving. This helps. I am also being treated with wellbutrin for depression (low dose as well as lorazepam. This all scares me and i need help figuring what is triggering these attacks.
