MY TABLETS WERE PINK, NOW THEY'ER WHITE ## Hello, Yes Metroprolol comes in a variety of apperances, including pink, blue, and white colors. That way someone could most likely reply with the exact dosage. Linds ## I have been taking Metoprolol ER 100MG Tab Wat and it is a white round tablet with the number 832 on the back. I was having heart palpitations and the dr suggested I see a cardiologist for them. 4 days before I saw her I was having episodes of them along with some chest pain and at one time blue nails. It all subsided now. My pulse rate and BP were good but because heart disease runs in the family she put me on metoprolol 25 mg split in 2 doses and told me to go to the hospital if my pulse went down to 60. It did, so I went to the hospital, had all tests done and everything was normal. They even gave me an angiogram with no problem there, but my pulse continued to fluctuate between the low 40s to 50s. My primary stated she gave you this for heart palpitations and to get off of it now. She did something wrong and she never told me why I needed to go to the hospital if my pulse went down to 60. Th...

My husbands metoprolol usually says LEG in the script and is a little round blue pill. When he filled it today it says CAR and is an oblong white pill. Same dosage. Are these the same med? ## Metoprolol is available as a generic, so the markings and the way it looks may differ, depending on which manufacturer made it. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. What are the markings on the new ones he received?

metoprolol ## Good question. Do you happen to know what the strength of the pill is, as well as the manufacturer? There are several possible appearances for this pill. For example: Metoprolol manufactured by AstraZeneca comes in 25, 50, 100, and 200 mg dosages... All of those are White. But Mylan Pharmaceuticals manufactures METOPROLOL TARTRATE in 50 mg (which is Pinkish Red with M over 32 on it), and 100 mg (which is a lighter Blue with M over 47 on it). Not to mention there are many other possibilities. Hope this helps. James

The druggist changed the color of my metoprolol from a blue round pill to a white oval pill and the white oval one seems to have given my legs a hard time walking and my hands are very tight. I know I have arthritis but this is more than usual. Could there be any connection? I believe there is. Since I've started taking the white one I drop everything and hardly walk. Would there be some ingredient in the white pill that was not in the blue pill? ## The inactive ingredients can differ from one generic to another. What would happen if you took it because it looks like pain medication ## You should never assume a medication is any given drug based on how it looks. The shape, size and colors actually don't mean anything. This tablet is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 100mgs of Metoprolol. The FDA classifies this as a beta blocker that is most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, hair loss, increased urination and hypotension. If you took one and it is not a medication prescribed for you, please watch for any danger signs, such as extreme dizziness, drowsiness and shallow breathing. You should also contact your doctor and inform them that you'v...

I have been taking 50 mg twice a day of metoprolol tartrate since May. Doc wants to double the dose all at once...200 mg a day because BP was elevated a little (from a panic attack, I believe). So the 50 mg scored pills were a pink pill. The 100 mg pills are blue scored pills. If I am too afraid to double the dose all at once, is cutting the scored 100 mg tablet the same as two 50 mg tablets? I do have panic/anxiety disorder and med phobia..thats why I am too afraid to double the dose all at once, especially because of the side effects I had when I started the 50 mg tablets...i.e., anxiety, nervouness, dizziness. I expressed to her my concern and she said, "you"ll be fine". Completely did not understand or care about my concerns. Thanks for any answers you can give as far as...
