I just finished using this for itchy skin at 35+ wks pregnant, i now have a yeast infection am i okay to take a over the counter med for it or one the dr prescribed? ## Hi mandy, Since you are pregnant, I believe you would need to ask your doctor about every medication you are thinking about taking wether it's prescription or OTC. What is the name of the OTC medication you're considering and what are the active ingredients? I'm not sure if you're allowed to take probiotics, but doing so may be able to prevent yeast infections in the future by reinstating good bacteria in your body. Also, apple cider vinegar is a popular alternative for treating yeast infections without medications. Based on my research, Braggs apple cider vinegar is safe for use during and after pregnanc...

My Dr prescribed this to me for hedaches I did not know they were steroids until after I took the 1 dose 2 pills for breakfast and 1 for lunch. I did not finish the fist day dose. I do not want to continue on them however I do not know how to take my self off them please help. ## Hi lolypop, Usually for drugs like this, the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off under a doctor's supervision; if possible. However having only taken the medication for 1-6 days, I almost wonder if you'd even experience withdrawals at all...? None the less, if you are concerned I would definitely encourage you to talk with your doctor about setting up a tapering schedule to ensure that everything goes smoothly. My understanding is that some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut...

Hi I'm deb, I have been prescribed methylprednisone 4mg for plantar fasciitis in my foot.. take 5 then 4,3,2,then 1 . I've been on methadon 28yrs, I'm afraid to start this if it's going to cause withdrawals any good feedback ? All I here are bad ones ## I had the worst experience imaginable with the dose pack. It was prescribed to be for headaches caused by whiplash from being rear-ended. Now, 7 1/2 long months later, I am finally getting back to normal. It took almost three months for my heart rate and blood pressure to normalize, 5 months for the nausea, dizziness and depression to go away, but I'm still dealing with anxiety. On top of that, I became extremely sensitive to food and/or food additives, and couldn't eat anything except meat, potatoes, rice, eggs a...

my name is kay can my husband take the methylprednisolone 4 mg can he take soma 350 mg with this he is in major pain and this is what they gave him plus 800 mg ibuprofen and tramadol help can't handle the crying. ## Hello, Kay! How is your husband doing? I didn't find any problems or interactions listed between the Methylprednisolone and Soma, however, taking Ibuprofen with the Methylprednisolone can increase his risk of stomach ulceration, according to the FDA and taking Soma with Tramadol may increase the amount of sedation he experiences, so he may experience a lot of dizziness and drowsiness. Is there anything else I can help with?

I started taking the medication yesterday and took 6, today i take 5, then 4, and 3, etc so for 6 days total. I am taking this along with Augmentinj 875 mg, every 12 hours. I have had a horrible sinus/ ear infection for at least 3 months and haven't been able to taste food or smell anything. Body aches, headaches, horrible anxiety and terrible fatigue. Mid day yesterday I started feeling so much better, my sense of smell came back last night and I cried. I enjoyed dinner so much I could finally taste food. I've never taken this medication before and was afraid to google it. Upon looking I see many negative things. So far I have had a great experience with this steroid pack and wish I would have taken it sooner. I hope my symptoms don't return or i have withdrawals. I'm a...

I just finnish take the 4mg pak methyiprednisolone tablet yesterday how long before it out my sistem? ## The length of time any drug remains in your system is going to vary from individual to individual, based on several factors, such as: -how much you take -how often you take it -your metabolic rate -your age and health -body mass -diet -etc... Methylprednisolone however, has an average half life of 18 to 36 hours. This means that it can take the body anywhere from 18 to 36 hours to clear 50% of the drug (after your last dose). You can see here that if you've been taking the drug regularly, then your dosing intervals may actually come before the long half life of the drug and therefore remain in your system longer (due to the higher dose that's now present in your system) - hyp...

I started taking Methylprednisolone tablets USP 4 mg today and will finish my last pill Easter Sunday in the morning before Breakfast. My question is may i have a glass of Wine with my Easter dinner? Selma ## The reason you are usually warned not to mix most medications with alcohol is due to the fact that it can enhance the side effects, like the associated drowsiness, dizziness and nausea. Thus, drinking one glass of wine could affect you like you have drunk 2 and so on. However, it you are taking the last one in the morning and not planning your wine until dinner, the problems should be minimal, but you may still experience some, so I would just suggest to be prepared for them, in case they strike and, as an extra precaution, make sure you aren't going to be driving anywhere. Yikes. I accidentally took all my first day of Methylprednisolone pills at one time. Will I be ok? ## Hello, Ann! How are you? Did you experience any adverse effects? Usually, they are only spaced out to try to help minimize the side effects, as listed by the FDA, they may include nausea, dizziness, headache, nervousness, and insomnia, so taking them all at once, may worsen those effects. The last time I was on this, my pharmacist flat out told me that it was fine to talk them, all at once, if I preferred, so I did. If I did so in the morning, then the worst of the side effects were worn off, by the time I was ready to go to bed. It's always best to double check with your doctor to be sure, though. ## This was helpful.I took all 6 at once and thought I might have overdosed.

iS THE SIDE EFFECTS TO METHYLPREDISDNE ## Based on your spelling, I believe you meant to say Methylprednisolone. Methylprednisolone has some serious side effects if taken long-term, including weight gain, glaucoma, osteoporosis and psychosis, especially when used at high dosage. The most serious side effect occurs after the adrenal glands cease natural production of cortisol, which methylprednisolone will replace. Abrupt cessation of the drug after this occurs can result in a condition known as Addisonian crisis, which can be fatal. To prevent this, the drug is usually prescribed with a tapering dosage, including a pre-dosed "dose pack" detailing a specific number of pills to take at designated times over a several-day period. Pharmacists sometimes advise that this drug can caus...

I took my daily 4 mg dosages tables of Methylprednisolone by mistake all at the same time at breakfast daily. 6 the first morning, 5 the next morning etc. Will this cause the drug to be less effective ## Hello, Clifton! How are you? No, there shouldn't be any problem doing that. Sometimes, it's even better to do so, since the medication may cause insomnia, if taken at night. But you should double check with your doctor to bed certain. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, elevated blood pressure and fluid retention.
