Methocarbamol Or Skelaxin

My doctor has prescribed skelaxin for muscle spasms in my hands and feet due to osteoarthritis, it doesn't seem to help very much but I cannot take tizanidine because of serious side effects. (Hallucinations) I currently take Opana ER (10mg 3/day and Percocet 4/day) What other muscle relaxers can be prescribed? ## Hello, Toots! How are you? Two other options would be Carisoprodol (Soma) and Methocarbamol (Robaxin). The FDA lists the typical side effects for them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with? ## My doctor decided on Baclofen. It seems to be working pretty well. Thanks for responding!

Metaxolone (Skelaxin) isn't either. Carisoprodol (Soma) is the only similar agent that is currently scheduled (Sched IV). ## They are both muscle relaxants, but the Soma is the strongest that is currently available in this category. what can I substitute for skelaxin. Medicare will not cover skelaxin and it is expensive ## I would like to continue taking skelaxin 800MG but now I am on medicare and they will not cover it. What are possible alternatives to this medication that may be covered by Medicare and will give me similar results. ## Skelaxin contains the active ingredient Metaxalone, it is a muscle relaxant. Have you tried seeing if they will cover the generic form? It is just called Metaxalone.
