I need help finding a doctor in Michigan to prescribe me Methadone. Right now it is so hard and expensive, not to mention they are so hard to get they are around maybe once a month. I can't go to a clinic everyday does anyone know of a doctor that would prescribe by month or week? ## It sounds like you've been taking Methadone for some time now. I live in upper Michigan (sault ste. Marie), I do NOT have insurance, i AM prescribed low level medication (Tramadol) for pain, however, am seriously interested in finding the closest doctor to upper Michigan (yet one that genuinely cares about his patients), that only prescribes or also prescribes methadone for addiction. I need a monthly prescription of methadone. Not a clinic!!!! For pain and or addiction to narcotics prescribed to me for diagnosed physical conditions. I genuinely need help. Hi everybody I have been an addict (opiates) for the past 13 years and it is tearing me and my family apart. I don't ever want to give up hope and say that ill be like this forever because I wont. I want to be clean so bad.. But theres just so much more to it (as a lot of you already know) but ill get on with it. My mother was prescribed methadone for her Neuropathy while living in Florida. Since then she has moved back to Michigan by necessity. She left her job to move to Georgia with her husband who was a military vet. He got OxyContin from the V.A. Hospital in Atlanta for his back issues. With her having no insurance he used to share with her. Now he's dead and we moved her back here to Michigan. At my clinic in Michigan the regular doctor is no longer there. He was an addiction medicine specialist and did general practiceprimary care. The new regular doctor is only a pathologist, and stated during my 60 day evaluation today that he hasn't treated anyone in 35 years. I'm a cronic pain patient going on 10 Years. I have had multiple surgeries on my lower back. I have been prescribed Oxycodone 30mgs up to as many as #240 a month -As low as #90 a month depending on which Dr. I was seeing at the time. This has been extended over a 5 yr period.
