if i take a methadone in the morning then do an oxy later will i still get high on the oxy ## Doubledizzle..How many MG's of methadone are you taking? Methadone will block any other narcotic if you are taking it for addiction, if you are taking it for pain, you are likely taking a lot smaller dose, so the methadone won't block other opiates unless you take them together, and that is just a guess on my part. When I started Methadone Maintenance, it took a long time to find my blocking dose, so if you are on it for addiction, it takes time, keep working on it with your doctor at the clinic,. Looking to ascertain total volume in miligrams of the combined active and inactive ingredients of a 5mg. and a 10mg. I was on methadone for 13 years for cronic pain but I also have severe RLS and methadone took care of both and gave me my life back but then. My doctor quit without telling anyone and all of a sudden my meds were gone. I was off of methadone all of a sudden with no problems at all and no withdrawal at all. I don't understand why others would have that problem but now I am back in terrible pain and my RLS will not let me sleep more then two hours at a time. I go to a pain clinic but all they will give me is lortab or higher and it helps for 4 hours but I don't like taking it at all. It can hurt your liver. I am 34 years old and a addict. I have been an addict since I was 21 years old. I have always been able to stop using when I wanted until last July when a string of very disturbing events happened in my life leaving me to attempt taking my own life. On 60mg. of methadone. Want to due a taper of 5mg. per day til at 30mg. Stop for two days, Then start Suboxone 8mg per day for two weeks then discontinue. That could be too rapid of a taper for the Methadone, according to the FDA, it is highly addictive and tends to cause severe cravings and withdrawal symptoms. Additionally, waiting 2 days to take the Suboxone could be too long or too short of a time period to start it. You need to be in full withdrawal, which for some people could be 12 hours, or it may take several days. Taking it too soon could cause you to go into precipitated withdrawals, which can be very dangerous and, if you go into severe withdrawals sooner, there'd be no point in waiting longer to take it. 2 weeks...

After my boyfriend went to detox off of a 5 year use of methadone. He first tried to quit cold turkey went into horrible withdrawal and almost went back to get a fix of H to kill the withdrawals. I am a man who is trapped on methadone. I took opiates for three years and I was off for six weeks, with what felt like having the symptoms of flu. At age 28 I was prescribed methadone. That was 18 years ago. I have tried about 7 times to get off, all with very intense pain, sickness, and diarrhea (sic). Those aren't terribly high doses, but could be dangerous for someone that isn't opiate tolerant, due to the sedation and depression of the central nervous system that they may cause. My wife has been dealing with my H addiction for years. I am a chronic pain management patient with ( I have been told by my doctors) no chance of ever being off pain meds. I have a serious disease I can barely pronounce.
