Methadone Compared To Morphine

I have been on Methadone 10mg - 2 tabs 4 x a day for 6 years and 300 mg's/day for 5 yrs before that from a methadone clinic. My Primary care Dr. (also my pain management Dr) recently decided that I needed to "taper down", Because I told her that the new pharmacy I went to gave me a hard time about the quantity. The reasons that I am on the meds in the 1st place are conditions that don't improve and I've never told her that I was feeling any better. I have a herniated C5, C6, L3, L4 S1, DDD, Fibromyalgia. So anyway she told me that "law says Methadone is 5 x stronger than Morphine and you're only allowed 100 mgs of Morphine so you're taking way too much already. There is no direct conversion, it can vary depending on what dosage of Morphine was being taken and the individuals tolerance to opiates. For example, where it would start at would be a 2mg Morphine to 1mg Methadone ratio, for someone that was taking less than 30mgs of Morphine, but it can go as high as a 20 to 1 ratio, is someone were taking much higher doses. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. lost daughter n law due to her having 143 m/l of methadone, 80.8 vicadene, 11.4 hydromorphone morphin, she also had anoxic-Encephalopathy, the autopsy report stated death due 2 a massive over-dose of methadone. Could u please explain the dosage to me n lay-mens terms. how many pills would 143 m/l consist of, also the same on vicadene, & morphine. Methadone is the only medication that works for my chronic pain.I had back surgery,knee surgery,fibromyalgia,arthritis,degenerate disc disease, migraines. Methadone seems to reach every bit of my pain compared to morphine or oxycontin I really need a Dr. who will work with me. I'm 46 years old and feel much older, please get back to me asap.
