Pregnant-taking Methadone, Clonidine, and Lamictal
My daughter is 6 months pregnant. She is taking 80 mg of methadone a day through a local clinic while recovering from a H addiction. She also takes clonidine for tourette tics. I have noticed that her tics are worse than ever and realized it may be due to the lamictal. The lamictal is for her anxiety and possible bi polar. She stopped the lamictal cold turkey a few days ago. I am worried about that and the side effects that could cause to her and the baby. I had wanted to talk to the doctor before hand. She is 24 and impossible to communicate with. She recently moved back home (an out and back in and still cussing and fussing-etc)... We put up with the behavior for the baby and our 3 year old granddaughters safety. I also realize my daughter is sick and desperately want to help her. My ... ...

Im pregnant, should i still be taking methadones?
i need answers! ## NOOOOO!!!! ## NO ARE YOU FREAKING NUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ## If you are pregnant already don't listen to them talk to your doctor first. When I was pregnant my doctor told me not to stop taking my methadone because it will make the fetus go into shock and die, causing me to miss carry. So I stayed on and I had a healthy baby. The only problem with that is that my baby had to take methadone for 2 weeks.(If your on a higher dose it might take longer if your on a lower dose it might be shorter). If your not pregnant already you should get off first it would be best you can breastfeed then(Methadone passes through breast milk). ## please email me about this pregnancy because i was on methadone the whole 9 months an... ...

I currently am thirteen weeks pregnant and am taking fifty five mg of methadone for about a month or so now. I no longer want to take this medication since i am no longer having withdrawl symptoms, but the clinic i am currently a attending is telling me that i am not going to be able to cold turkey or start tapering off methadone util i am at eighteen weeks of my pregnancy due to the saftey of my child and possible fetal harm caused by withdrawl stress. I am not entirely convinced that the staff at the clinic im attending is being a hundred percent truthful with me because of rumors floating around about how they staff only wants the money that the people attending bring in. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!! Like i stated earlier, i no long want to take methadone after reading all of the hirr... ...

pregnant and needing help
I've been on Suboxone since April 2012. Last week I found out I am pregnant, and am about four weeks along. I called my doctor who prescribes the Suboxone, and she has left me with a difficult ultimatem. She has prescribed subutex for a week, and then my treatment is up to me. I either need to go to methadone clinic (which is too far for me to drive daily, and id have to win the lotto to afford it) or risk a miscarriage by not taking anything. She will only help me for a week. I've contacted the Suboxone hotline, and women can take subutex or methadone while pregnant with less risk than Suboxone. Where can I look.for another doctor? I feel like no one will want to treat me since my doc is basically throwing me out. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas of where I can look.for.h... ...

I am 4 months pregnant and just statred taking Methadone for pain after being hooked on oxycodone and oxycontin sense before pregnancy.
I just started taking methadone a couple days ago for pain because I was in a pain clinic taking Oxycodone (perks) and Oxycontin (extended release perks) both at 10mg 3x a day but I would take more than prescribed because it didnt help my pain at that amount alone. Then I found out i am pregnant and those meds are category B in the FDA database so its safer to take them while pregnant but I missed one appointment at the pain center that i didnt even know about they made an appointment for me without seeing if i could make it and didnt notify me prior to the appointment day so of course i missed it. Then they kicked me out and said i refused a pill count that i didnt even know i had i mean C'MON thats stupid. but anyway before that happened my doctor put me on this Butrans patch 5 mi... ...

Pregnant Women beware
Fyi to anyone considering subutex or suboxone while pregnant-beware that your baby is passed your opiates. I took lortab and subutex while pregnant weaned off of all 8 weeks prior to delivery and my son has autism. I know that no one knows what causes autism, but it's not worth your experimentation! beware! if you don't stop before delivery your baby will have withdrawl and the hospital will know for sure. take good care. ## I am 36 weeks pregnant, and have been on oxycodon for the entire time. I managed to get down to 45 mg, about a month ago, but told my doctors about my addiction bc i couldnt kick the habit myself. The doctor refered me to the methadone clinic but i didnt want to take methadone cause i can abuse it. Just got on subutex. 2 8mg tablets a day. Im so scared about... ...

find a doctor that prescribes methadone in nc
Looking for a doctor who will prescribe methadone in the Charlotte, nc area. I have real pain due to a car accident back in 2000 when I broke my pelvis. I moved from Jersey to Nc and got the pain meds off of someone else and when I became pregnant I was told to go to a methadone clinic. I had no idea what I was doing or that I could easily have gone to pain management. I'm willing to drive almost anywhere within reason for a doctor who can give me methadone. I've tried subutex and suboxone but neither work. Please help ## Unfortunately, if you have gone to a Methadone clinic in the past, then that is in your medical records and a regular doctor will not be able to prescribe it for you. Whether you need it for pain or not, your prior addiction treatment is what will restrict them... ...

I'm a woman with sickle cell disease and I'm 12weeks pregnant and they have me on a very high dose of methadone is there a conversion from methadone to dilidad ## Hello, Jennifer! How are you? The reason they have you on Methadone is because it's considered safer to take while pregnant, so no one is going to be willing got prescribed Dilaudid for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Methadone detoxing with chronic pain disease... Need advice!
I have severe case of Fibromyalgia with many flare ups where the pain becomes s bad I end up in the ER on dilaudid via IV. I became pregnant 6yrs ago and had been taking percocet for 2 years and was when I became pregnant so my OB/GYN advised on start on the methadone maintenance program. By the end of my term the clinic had me up to 175mg's. Recently I detoxed down 2 mg’s a week and now I am at 46mg's. It hurts something terrible. My PCP said after i’m thru detoxing that he will put me on a Vicodin patch s not to have to take pills again. My issue is as I go down even lower (I am holding at 46mg’s right now) I know my pain is going to be 100 times worse! My body cannot handle it and also I have a 6yr old daughter to take care of. I thought about a detox hospit... ...

need help with cost of suboxone
mom of three and been an addict for 20years. did not use while pregnant but now I have lost control of everything. I have no extra money. I get my morphine and oxy free from my job. I'm not a nurse but I work with not so ethical ones. I can't get suboxone because of cost. I need to stop before I kill myself. I've tried cold turkey 7 times. I'm such a weak person I guess. I've overdosed twice. why is it so expensive. I just need help and can't afford it. is there any kind of programs I could join to get it cheaper? ## Have you considered treatment with Methadone at one of the clinics? I know it's not as effective as Suboxone, but it is much cheaper. Learn more Methadone details here. There used to be an assistance program for Suboxone, but I've been unable... ...

Dilaudid Withdrawal Pregnancy
I am 19 weeks pregnant. I have been taking 2mg Dilaudid every four hours daily, which would be a total of 12mg in a 24hr period. I have been taking it since 13 weeks pregnant, so a little over 6 weeks. I have been taking it every single day for chronic kidney pain. My doctor decided to transfer my care to a pain management clinic, and my appointment is not until Tuesday, it is currently Saturday. My OB refuses to write me a script to get to through until my appointment, and even though I have been taking them only as directed, they want be to come in and be converted to Methadone. NOT HAPPENING. I will suffer through all the pain in the world before having a child born to Methadone. My OB has refused to wean me down on the medication, so I am currently off it cold turkey. My last dose w... ...

find adoctor in a that prescribes subutex virginia
I am detoxing off 130 mg tht I have been on for 6 years. I need a doctor in VA or NC, I live near Norfolk. Everyone wants to prescribe suboxone but my doctor warned me that if I take suboxone and have ANY methadone in my system that it will throw me into SEVERE withdrawal. Also, we are going to be trying for a baby soon so I cannot take Suboxone while breastfeeding. If you know of a doctor in or around Norfolk VA that can prescribe Subutex, not Suboxone please notify immediately. ## Really, the same doctors that prescribe Suboxone can also prescribe Subutex. Learn more Suboxone details here. However, they are most likely going to want you to start with Suboxone, then switch to Subutex, when you are pregnant. They will just have you wait, until you are in full withdrawal to start the med... ...

How long do I need to wait after taking a 10mg Oxy at 3pm, then a 10mgill) methadone at 7pm on friday night, THEN a half piece, (half a pill) at 2pm sat afternoon. It is now 10am sun morning...Im not feeling withdrawls yet. I am an opiate addict & have been for 6yrs now. I am considered a"functioning addict" I think because I have a family, a 3yr old daughter...while I was pregnant, I taoered myself down on my own & took lortab 10's, yellow norcos, less acetaminophen. I then started taking suboxone last yr for 4month. My rehab counselor says Im too smart to be using but I ... ...
