Methadone And Oxycodone

Been on Methadone for many years via a pain clinic. I am 66. I take 50 mg. daily. and was stable and reasonably pain free until this year. I fell and broke 5 ribs on two different occasions and a slight fractured hip and torn muscles on a third fall. These falls happened while training protection dogs.For about 8-9 months I was taking about 60 mgs. of oxycodone on top of the methadone with no effect on pain - ouch!. Now, the pain is gone from the falls but I am in withdrawal and feel very sick - I think. I started to take an additional 10 mgs. methadone but it's not helping - it's been about 10 days since last dose of oxycodone. At the same time I came down with a stomach bug or was that withdrawal? been living in Florida and seeing a excellent pain dr.. Unfortunately I am moving to Baltimore Md. I am 64 years old and on Social Security Disability, been taking 70 mgs of methadone daily and 5 to 6 30 mg oxycodone for break through pain. Does anyone know of a good pain management Dr. In the Baltimore metro area that will help me, have 1 fused disc and 2 or3 almost totally degenerated all in the L section of my back ## I just recently moved to Panama City. why did 1.0 fentanyl and oxymorphone show u in my urine n im on 15 mgs of methadone and 30mg 6x day how can this be? im on gabapentin and Xanax also oxybutrin ## Not suggesting anything but it is typical for H to be cut with F for increased intensity. It is actually wanted by the users from what I have heard. Please be careful everyone. There has been growing numbers of OD including an epidemic not too long ago where more then 3 died from the cutting of F (too much) with hours in the same hotel.

Need to talk to someone very bad. I've been taking methadone for 20 years, in May I started winging myself down. I got to 5 to 10 milligrams then ran out so I started taking 5 milligram oxycodone. I have a few 2 milligram and 8 milligram suboxone. When can I take them? Living in Mountain Home, Arkansas is there any Doctor I can go to that prescribes? Had a car crash two weeks ago. I broke my neck,shattered my left foot and had knee surgery three weeks ago. I have been on 60mg. Of methadone fora year now. Big issue finding a pain killer to help with acute pain. Doctor gave me fives, have to take 10 at a time. I need help here. ## What type of doctor are you seeing? I live in Naples, Florida and I am legally prescribed both methadone and oxycodone. I have an extremely hard time trying fill these prescriptions. I once went to 19 different pharmacies in one day trying to fill them! Only to be told that either they are out, don't carry it, or are no longer taking in New "clients." I finally found a.place that would fill 180 pills of my methadone, even though I am prescribed 270. I had my doctor break up my prescription into two so it would be easier. I then found a place that fills my second part of my prescription with little problems. I've been going to these two different pharmacies on and off for the past two years. Now I find out that the main pharmacy I use is going out of business, andnow the other one has been giving me hassles...

Chronic pain for 14 yrs treated with methadone and oxycodone for break thru pain. Spinal cord injury, wheelchair bound for 26 yrs. having trouble finding any doctors in Charlotte to continue my current pain medicine. I'd like to know how much stronger in milligrams the difference is between 30 mg of Methadone and 30 mg of Oxycodone? Of course, the Methadone always worked better and the Oxycodone, same dosage, is not nearly as strong. How does one figure that out? ## Each 30mgs of Oxycodone is equivalent to approximately 6mgs of Methadone, so yes, the Methadone is much stronger. The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

My husband has taken subs on his own in the past and quit oxycodone and did fine. this time around he was taking about 40mg methadone a day. He waited about 50 hrs before starting the bupe. He at first took a quarter and then a half and couldnt really tell a difference so we figured since it wasnt worse he must not be getting perciptated withdrawals. So this evening he has been feeling really awful but it isnt helping him to take bupe .He has done about 2 throughout the day. He is very restless and miserbal he cant sleep he is in a lot of withdrawal. My question is if it was from preciptated withdrawals wouldnt this have happened earlier in the day when he first started to take the bupe. my mom has been on methadone for 13 years. She is on 135 mgs of the methadone. And she is now being prescribed 10 MG oxycodone for server pain and I told her she needed to chose either to take the methadone or take the oxys. well my question is, is if she wants to take the oxys how long would she have to go off the methadone before she would get relief from the oxycodone?? ## I used to take Oxycontin. Oxycodone is pretty much the same thing. It is a very addictive drug and very easy to abuse. Can I use targinact while on methadone? Will it throw me into withdrawal? I usually take oxycodone for spinal pain (cancer), but targinact has naloxone in it and oxycodone, so can I use targinact? ## Yes, if you are not in full withdrawal when you take it, it may throw you into dangerous precipitated withdrawals, according to NIH reports, which may include life threatening seizures. It would be best to wait until you are in full withdrawal, before making the switch. Are you on any other medications?

HELLO!! I live in Northern VA & was recently (& unfairly) discharged from my Dr. of over 4 yrs. I am nearly out of meds & NEED to find a new Dr. asap!
