i am 8 months pregnant and have been in methadone treatment for almost 5 years. My recent urine screens have been coming back negative for methadone and i am very vigilant in taking my meds as prescribed at the same time each day. The past 5 years my urine results have been correct so why now at 8 months pregnant is my doctor accusing me of submitting someone elses urine, we have recently lowered my dose as i felt it was best for my baby, my body is dependent on the methadone and my baby would likely suffer if i were to be kicked out of prog,,, please help The bottom line is I AM TAKING MY METHADONE, and my body could not possibly be metabolizing it this fast,,,or could it?? i am carrying twice the volume of blood as i was 6 months ago.....I'm so confused? ## Do you drink a lot of w...

I've been on Suboxone since April 2012. Last week I found out I am pregnant, and am about four weeks along. I called my doctor who prescribes the Suboxone, and she has left me with a difficult ultimatem. She has prescribed subutex for a week, and then my treatment is up to me. I either need to go to methadone clinic (which is too far for me to drive daily, and id have to win the lotto to afford it) or risk a miscarriage by not taking anything. She will only help me for a week. I've contacted the Suboxone hotline, and women can take subutex or methadone while pregnant with less risk than Suboxone. Where can I look.for another doctor? My Taper story- BG: I was severely addicted to pain pills and started taking methadone in a MMT Clinic in August of 2014. Before I knew it i went all the way up to 75mg of liquid daily. I became tired of being chained to the clinic having to do U/A's and counseling weekly. My daughter is 6 months pregnant. She is taking 80 mg of methadone a day through a local clinic while recovering from a H addiction. She also takes clonidine for tourette tics. I have noticed that her tics are worse than ever and realized it may be due to the lamictal. The lamictal is for her anxiety and possible bi polar. However, once you are pregnant, your doctor may want you to switch to a different medication, because there may be some risks associated with taking it, while pregnant. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. You may be better served by checking into it, before trying to become pregnant. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on methadone for seven years. Thru a clinic. I also am prescribed many anti depressants as well as 2 mg klonopin. I just found out iam 10 weeks pregnant. What should i do? I currently am thirteen weeks pregnant and am taking fifty five mg of methadone for about a month or so now. I no longer want to take this medication since i am no longer having withdrawl symptoms, but the clinic i am currently a attending is telling me that i am not going to be able to cold turkey or start tapering off methadone util i am at eighteen weeks of my pregnancy due to the saftey of my child and possible fetal harm caused by withdrawl stress. Fyi to anyone considering subutex or suboxone while pregnant-beware that your baby is passed your opiates. I took lortab and subutex while pregnant weaned off of all 8 weeks prior to delivery and my son has autism. I know that no one knows what causes autism, but it's not worth your experimentation! beware! if you don't stop before delivery your baby will have withdrawl and the hospital will know for sure. take good care. ## I am 36 weeks pregnant, and have been on oxycodon for the entire time. Regarding some antibiotics, the jury is still out, so the best thing to do would be to use a backup method of contraception for the duration of the time period that you are taking it. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain. Okay so ive been on methadone for about a year. 90mg. But then i got pregnant. I am currently 6 months. I had to go up A LOT to feel okay during the day. I was on 140mg. I haven't went to my clinic for a week because the methadone started making me sick. I was throwing up all day and i couldn't eat it was horrible, so i stopped going. I still feel uncomfortable during the day but nothing too bad. How long will it take the methadone to get out of my system? Hi, I've been taking Minastrin 24 for two months now. In my second month I had missed a couple pills but made them up and I had only fully missed one pill (meaning I didn't take it at all). My boyfriend and I had been intimate and everything with the pull out method. Now I am 21 days late on my period. After I was done with the white set I just stopped taking the birth control. I just started taking methadone a couple days ago for pain because I was in a pain clinic taking Oxycodone (perks) and Oxycontin (extended release perks) both at 10mg 3x a day but I would take more than prescribed because it didnt help my pain at that amount alone.
