I have some white oblong white tablets scored on one side and printed M525 on the other. I believe these are Ascend Labs Metformin HCL ER 500 mg tablets from a couple of months ago that I didnt finish up when I got my refill prescription. They also could be a different brand that the pharmacy used to fill my prescription. ## These tablets are manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals and they list them as containing 120mgs of Diltiazem. The FDA classifies this medication as a calcium channel blocker that's most commonly used to treat high blood pressure and certain cardiac conditions. I just got my RX for metformin Hcl 500 mg. tablets. I am confused as to when is the best time of day for me to take it. Should I take it in the morning, or, at night before bed? Do I need to take it on an empty stomach, or, with food? ## Ideally, it should usually be taken in the morning, just before a meal, that way it has time to start working to help lower your blood sugar by the time your body starts digesting your meal. I take 100mg of the above Metformin 1 time a day with the evening meal. Sometimes the next morning I will notice the undesolved tablest in my stool, especially when I have diarrhea.
