I wanted to postpone my periods so i consuted gynec she told me to take Meprate 10 mg tablet twice a day till 10 days 3 days prior from my date.as soon as I take the 1st tablet after 2 hours I saw spotting same happened with next day.when I explained her she told me to take 3 tablets a day for 2 to 3 days to stop dis.but m afraid wid this nd confused.if anybody experienced the same plz help.not a pregnant women nd I have regular periods. ## Unfortunately, not every medication works for everyone that tries it, and since Meprate is a hormonal medication, it can cause breakthrough bleeding, like what you experienced, along with nausea, headache, mood changes, and weight changes. My wife is 39 yrs old, she is having Thyroid from last 7 years when she delivered 2nd son. She is regularly consuming 10 tablets for ten days for every 2 months, then menstruation occurs in her again and after 15 days a 2nd menstruation happens. My wife happened to consume meprate 10 mg tablets (twice a day for 5 day) in the third and fourth week of pregnancy. The doctor prescribed it for getting normal periods. Since the pregnancy test proved negative at that time. But later it was discovered that she was already pregnant. Now the fetus is 7 weeks old. I found that these tablets are not safe during pregnancy and can harm the fetus (abnormality in the genitals). What could be the risks involved and what should be done to minimize risk? i am 31 yrs having pcos. i underwent ivf & had baby a year back. now for past 45 days i have heavy bleeding and also put on weight. doctor 1st advised me Meprate, since no improvement, again advised Meprate with Fefol Z. i was not advied for any ultra sound scan or any other test. kindly advise me i am n right path? ## Some blood work should be done to check what exactly is causing it, as well as an ultrasound. It could be due to a hormonal imbalance, but that's not really likely if the Meprate hasn't helped, since it contains Medroxyprogesterone. Have you visited an Ob Gyn or just a regular doctor for it? The Meprate tablet was prescribed to me for regulating my periods. I was asked to take 10 tablets this cycle and then for the next three cycles (every 15-25th day) but this tablet is giving me lot of acne. I've already suffered from acne for the last 10-15yrs. I had a high lh value that was up to 14 for day 2 of my cycles, for the past 7 months. I have done one follicular study which was a fail, & now my lh is 14. The doc told me to take progynova 2mg for 30 days & meprate for the last 10 days of progynova. Is it lowering my lh? & one more question - Is it possible to get pregnant, if I were to have intercourse while taking progynova & meprate?

sir i went for scan yesterday and got the following report mildly bulky uterus with fibriod right ovary cysts internal echoes-suggestive of ? endometriotic cyst ( 5.3 x 3.4 cms, shows cysts with internal echoes measuring 3.7 x 3.0 cms and 1.8 x 1.9 cms. left ovary shows cysts measuring 2.5 x 1.9 cms and 11x9 mm I have not got periods for 4 months and i am 48. dr, has advised me Meprate 10 mg for 2 days and novelon 10. d x 21 for 3 months please suggest me.
