I was just prescribed 15mg of Meloxicam to start taking. I had been taking 600-800mg of Ibuprofen & was told it was safer, along with a low dose of oxycodeine which I'm really trying to do without. I'm recovering from a shoulder replacement & also have arthritis in other shoulder. I'm very much the nervous type when it comes to drugs. How often should I request blood work? ## There is no set schedule, but if you're taking it regularly, most doctors will check your liver levels every 3 to 4 months to be careful. Meloxicam 15MG TAB (mee-LOX-i-kam) ## Hi, I know this is possibly the wrong thing to to, so this is certainly not meant as advice, just what I do. Both my partner and father also have bad knees. When my knees start playing up, I take 2 x 15mg so 30mg in total every day I am in pain / discomfort and always have done. It helps pain and allows me to have a better range of movement to manipulate if back in to the position it should be in order to be able to walk again. I know it's not prescribed to me and I know it's over the daily maximum dose but hey it works for me. I have finally decided to go to my doctor next week and have it prescribed for me. Thanks John. ## There are always risk to taking any medication, including over the counter products. Since Meloxicam is a nonsteroidal...

Also, how long should a person stay on this drug? ## What has it been prescribed to treat? This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and is usually prescribed to be taken as needed, but there might be some reason your doctor wanted you to take it regularly. The FDA warns that it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation.

Ive been running to the bathroom like every 20min. But I also experience pain in my joints and various body parts on daily basis. What can I use in terms of pain relief? Is there something else I can use for over active bladder or incontinence? Thanks for you knowledge and information I can't always reach my doctor, but I have an appointment and I hope to have something to discuss

I'm having surgery and need to know if any of my meds are blood thinners: Guanfacine, Isosorbide Mononitrate ER, Metoprolol, Metformin, Losartan/HCTZ, L-Thyroxine, Atorvastatin Calcium, Meloxicam. ## No, but many surgeons will tell you not to take the Meloxicam, before surgery, since it can cause an increased risk of bleeding as a side effect, according to FDA reports. Thus, in most cases you have to stop taking it several days before surgery. It is best to make sure they know everything you are taking, including the dosages, so they can advise you on what you should, or shouldn't take. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am looking for a doctor in virginia who will take self pay patients and who is not against opioid medications. I'm currently on Amatriptalin Tizanidin and Meloxicam (which is killing my stomach due to many years of nsaid). These medications help but they are not enough. I'm in physical therapy and the pain is preventing me any my therapist from being able to progress in my therapy. I live in the Charlottesville area and every doctor has gone complete opioid prohibition. I just need a little more help with my pain so that I can progress in my therapy. I am willing to travel far. If anyone knows of any doctor in Virginia who may be willing to help, please let me know and thank you in advance.
