## I am having problems when I started taking this drug, now that i am off it it has left severe back problem in which i need help out of bed every morning. ## The problem could actually be caused by your stopping the drug abruptly. Since it reduces inflammation, it might have been reducing it in an area of your spine where you have damage or swelling and then by stopping it, your body is unprepared to regulate that condition on its on, kind of a withdrawal effect, and the pain and inflammation has gotten worse. I would recommend speaking to your doctor so they can check out the problem and see exactly what is causing it.

I was just prescribed 15mg of Meloxicam to start taking. I had been taking 600-800mg of Ibuprofen & was told it was safer, along with a low dose of oxycodeine which I'm really trying to do without. I'm recovering from a shoulder replacement & also have arthritis in other shoulder. I'm very much the nervous type when it comes to drugs. How often should I request blood work? ## There is no set schedule, but if you're taking it regularly, most doctors will check your liver levels every 3 to 4 months to be careful. The typical side effects of Meloxicam, as reported by the FDA, may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Meloxicam 15MG TAB (mee-LOX-i-kam) ## Hi, I know this is possibly the wrong thing to to, so this is certainly not meant as advice, just what I do. Both my partner and father also have bad knees. When my knees start playing up, I take 2 x 15mg so 30mg in total every day I am in pain / discomfort and always have done. It helps pain and allows me to have a better range of movement to manipulate if back in to the position it should be in order to be able to walk again. I know it's not prescribed to me and I know it's over the daily maximum dose but hey it works for me. I have finally decided to go to my doctor next week and have it prescribed for me. I have osteoarthritis in my spine, knees and hips and have recently developed severe pain in both arms, extending to the fingers on my right hand, worse on getting out of bed in the morning. I was taking Panadol Osteo two three times a day which didn't really help much so my doctor prescribed Mobic. It helps a lot but not completely so am wondering if I should keep taking Panadol Osteo as well as Mobic? Also, is it necessary to have a few days break from Mobic every so often? I take Sotalol for AF, Perindopril for blood pressure, Apixaban as a blood thinner and Carbimazole for hyperthyroidism. I have asked my doctor and pharmacist these questions but am still confused as to what I should safely do even though I have read all the information available. ## Hello, Janice! How are you? ...

I have recently quit taking pain meds that I have taken for the past ten years. I was up to 8 Vicoprofen and 4 Tramadol every day. I was so tired of getting up and felling horrible from the toxins in the opoides that I just don't want to do it anymore. However, now I have to deal with how painful it is without the meds and how tired I am. I shower every morning and try to take a 2 mile walk each day, but I am too tired and sore to keep it up. I was hoping a good NSAID would help me, but am so afraid it will have severe physical affects...possibly non-reversible. The side effects on the bottle are nothing compared to the research I have found on the computer. How often should i get a liver panel? I just started meloxicam, a few days ago wow miracle drug, I have tried many pain pills and all they did was give me a buzz but still had pain. I got a very bad side effect from Losartan. I got bilateral achelies, tendonitis. It has been horrible since I have to stand and walk 12 hours a day for work. This did take about 3 days for all my pain to go away. But I am very concerned about the side effects. Thanks ## Hello, Mark! How are you? Most doctors do them about every 3 months, at first, then if you're doing well, it will change to every 6, then yearly, as long as they feel you should continue taking it. My daughter went to the dr with pain in her ear and side of head when she wakes up in the am, he prescribed meloxicam 15 mg every day?? Is this safe he says it's TMJ arthralgia, at 15? I don't think the long term side effects are worth the risk!! ## Have you taken her to see a dentist to have this confirmed? Or perhaps to an ENT specialist? I have TMJ and have experienced pain in those areas on waking up in the morning, but it wasn't due to the TMJ, it was due to an outer ear infection. It occurs very easily if one gets water in their ears and you often hear it referred to as swimmer's ear for that reason, though it can happen due to water from showering and bathing, as well.
