Meloxicam And Drinking

I am a regular drinker, but have only taken meloxicam one time ten hours ago. I normally consume 8 to 10 drinks. Can I drink alcohol ten hours after taking meloxicam? ## That is far too much to be consuming regularly, doing so will take its toll on your stomach, and liver, eventually. Please consider lowering your alcohol consumption. As to drinking after taking Meloxicam, I am sorry, but there is no specific safe window that I can quote you. Combining them could result in liver damage, liver failure, stomach irritation, and stomach ulceration, according to FDA warnings. Are you taking any other medications?

My wife has been taking this medicine for on and off for the past year. If it causes liver problems and she drinks what would be a good advice for her considering we are getting a divorce. She is the mother of my kids and I do care for her. ## Hello, CW! How are you? Okay, it isn't that a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory does cause liver problems, but there is a risk that it might cause them. The same for the drinking and combining the two increases that risk. Since this is a prescription medication, is she seeing the prescribing doctor regularly? Because, if so, they should be monitoring her and occasionally doing blood work to check her liver function. And is that doctor aware that she drinks?

I drink coffee and have been placed on Meloxicam and wonder if I should continue to drink coffee while on the medication? ## Hello, Larry! How are you? As long as your doctor approves, but it may cause more stomach side effects than you would have if you weren't drinking coffee. Meloxicam is classified by the FDA as a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and they are well known to cause stomach irritation and possible ulcers, so the coffee could aggravate that. Other side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache and increased risk of bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I developed epiploic appendagitis the doctor gave me 2 weeks of meloxicam 15mg take one a day , it worked great but as soon as I finished 2 days later started having pain , if I get more how...

I am a 72 year old male and taking 15 mg of Meloxicam a day for arthritis. I think I have the flu and am running a temperature of 101 degrees. What can I take to fight the temperature? ## First and foremost, I'd recommend drinking plenty of (lemon) water to help flush your system out and keep your body cool. You may also want to have some herbal tea on hand with raw honey if you have a stuffy nose or sore throat. Essential oils, such as lavender or peppermint are other options. Aside from that, having a good amount of fruits and vegetables (during this time onward) will help to strengthen your immune system so you don't get sick as easily in the future. It will probably have to run it's course, but doing those things should alleviate any symptoms in the mean time. I hope thi...
