How often can it be taken? My RX says once a day. I've been prescribed 15mg of Meloxicam tablets and take it every morning after breakfast but I've run out. Can I take 2x 7.5mg tablets instead? Also, is there a difference between the capsules and tablets? ## Yes, you can double up on the others, unless your doctor instructs otherwise. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. I am not aware of there being any difference. I started taking meloxicam 15mg and asked my pharmacist if I can cut it in half because the full 15mg was giving me a side effect of shortness of breath. I been taking half of it for a week now and have no side effects but my back is still in pain. Is it ok for me to take Meloxicam 15mg after expiration (3/16/2016 to 3/16/2017)? Dr has put me on Meloxicam for the arthritis in my hands and shoulders, ever sense I have been on it I have had a low grade headache.
