I'm a difficult case of fibromyalgia, poor treatment response since 15. I'm on a pharmacy of meds including 150mg daily oxycodone, clonipin, cymbalta, gabapentin. Ext. Well my liver diagnostics are coming back elevated. Thing is I would drop all of them in a heart beat if I found ONE thing that works. medical MJ is NOT legal in Utah. I've lost 35 pounds in 8 months or so but not enough my drs care. My top three symptoms? Pain, nausea, anxiety. Followed by exhaustion. I had to leave the last 3 jobs from this and I just want to try something that may work. Anyone here with ANY fibro/marinol experience? I'm not looking to be high, just functional. I swear Utah will be the 50th state to legalize. ## I am very sorry that you're so miserable and having such problems. Marin...

I had a pacemaker put in and so far it has helped my heart rate. I have had 7 falls though because of ? Possibly too many meds? I take 14 a day. Is having a pace maker generally get better after a pace maker? ## Hi Pauline, I don't know a lot about pace makers, but I have a feeling that the 14 medications you are currently taking could very possibly be causing some of the issues you are dealing with. That is a lot of medication for one body to handle, does the doctor who put in your pace maker know about the medications you are taking? How long have you had the pace maker?

This is a dangerous drug!! If you take heart meds and prescribed this medication, RUN!! I gained 15 lbs in 3 months. I was retaining water. I was swollen from my toes up to my upper thighs. My feet and toes were so swollen that I could not bend my toes downward. My feet were so sore that it was a struggle to walk! My stomach was bloated as this med stops acid from forming in your stomach that can cause GERD etc. What happens is food sits in your stomach and eventually rots and expelled. I felt so hungry and noticed my nails and hair pretty much stopped growing as the food doesn't get digested and sent throughout the body. My entire body was sore as if I suffered from fibro. My fingers, hands, arms and face were swollen. This was not an allergy. I needed home care as I could barely w...

My insurance is medicaid. My pain meds were filled on the 27th of last month. Can I fill them on the 25th of this month? ## If you had them filled in February, which was only 28 days long, you should be able to refill them on the 25th, or 26th of March, according to the FDA. However, the best thing to do would be to check with your pharmacy. What medications are you taking? ## I need a pain management doc. I live n NJ near cherry hill. I have lupus n fibromalga, my rhumatogist is no longer here so I was getting oxicodone 30mg 4 times a day but the pain management clinic I'm seeing can only prescribe 15 my 3 times day. Which does nothing for my pain. Can sum one help me find a doc who accept medicade n prescribe the meds I've been taking for the last 5 yrs n nj. Oxcodone 30 mg. #...

I have been taking Orphenadrine ER 100 mg tablets for many years for fibromyalgia with no problem. Now my insurance said it is not used to treat fibromyalgia. What the heck? I'm allergic to the other meds and I can't afford it on $500 a month disability. What do I do now? ## Hi Gamaboo22, Sorry to hear about your situation. Do you happen to know who the manufacturer of your medication is? Perhaps they might have a patient assistance program to look into? Some drug companies offer this and some don't, but it may be worth checking. Another option would be to utilize a free pharmacy coupon such as the one offered here on MedsChat at: Rx Savings Card. With one of these savings cards, you may be able to cut costs down by 15-75%, hopefully making the medication attainable. You cou...

I was just given Lyrica for my Neuropathy and Fibromyalgia. I start it tonight and will keep posted on how it does for me. My doctor said it would not hurt any drugs I am now on, which is a lot. And the side effects would be sleepiness. ## My brother was just diagnosed with fibromyalgia and this is what they put him on. My wife and I are waiting to see what the results will be as we both have the same illnessand our appointments for our doctor isn't for a while. We will be waiting for your results along with his to see if this turns out to be the medication we've been looking for. Of course, we know that meds can work differently for different people. Good luck and God Bless! ## My Dr. Put me on Lyrica for nerve pain that runs across my back and down both legs. It makes me sleep...

Fibro Dr. In Mn. who will really listen me and not just think I am drug seeking. I am 42 years old. Was dx with fibromyalgia approx. 3 years ago. I have degenerative disc. disease as well as bulging disc in L5. In 2003 i had a gastric bypass done and so i metabolize medication faster and differently than those who have not had the surgery. In 2015 I had surgery on my left ankle to repair tendons and shave a bone spur. But while under they found that my achilies tendon was days if not hours from rupturing, so they had to repair that. And fix several other tendon, ligaments and pining of bones. So, what was to be just a 4 hr surgery turned into 10. This surgery has also left me with exstreme nerve pain and instability in ankle and foot. So, please if anyone knows of a Dr. that is willing to

I have a legitamite pain issue stemming from when I tore my ACL MCL Meniscus before my growth plates set in causing my left leg to be shorter...Then My lower back got messed up over time with this problem causing me to have 3 epidural shots in my tailbone(none worked even a week)...And Then I got in a car accident about 5 years ago which I then had more epidurals, injections, and a RFA(Radiofrequency ablation) which just caused me to have fibromyalgia now as well. All that being said, I was wondering if there is a GOOD Doctor in Illinois? (I live near Woodfield in Schaumburg but willing to travel) I want one who will see my 3 huge folders of medical records, understand, give me something to help manage my pain and also work with me to find a Permanent Long term solution so I am Not on m...

I'm taking paxil, lamictal, adderall, ms contin and my doc wants me to try cymbalta since I've been wanting off of paxil for a long time. I have lupus, fibromyalgia, adhd, and severe clinical depression. Does anyone know the meds that do not interact well with cymbalta and/or has anyone swapped from paxil to cymbalta? ## Well that is quite a list of meds that you are taking, I would honestly suggest you speak with your pharmacist, since they have them all logged in the computer, they can check those reactions for you. This is one of the reasons you should never pharmacy hop. I could check reactions with an online database, but those are never updated right to the minute with the most current information, so I would really hate to chance it. ## thank you for your response. I have fibromyalgia and take many meds, but the ones I seem to need the most are the pain meds, i.e. Lorcet. My doctor is like so many I read about here and afraid to give me too many but I do not know how to deal with the pain without them. Any suggestions on either how to cope with pain OR, his there a way I can get pain meds on my own, without a doctor's script? Thank you to all out there who suffer with chronic pain like me. Any suggestions/help are appreciated. ## My wife gets some relief from Cymbalta along with acupuncture and a special massage: that puts pressure on the trigger points. ## Thank you John. I am already taking cymbalta & lyrica but my lower trigger points (hips especially) hurt so bad. I have not tried massage yet - I live in a very rural community and will...

I read that not many people use doxepin...I have roaming body pain after a few hours of sleep...Because of an ele., burn of 13,800 volts back in 1991...I have tried to slowly get off the pill...but with in 2 or 3 weeks my night time pain is with me all night...Dose any of you use this pill for the same reason...pain...I have used as high as 150 mg ... but have been on 75mg for 10 years now... ## Doxepin is typically a sleep aid, I have been on as high a dose as 300 mg a day. Pain is better controlled by gabapentin or some of the newer drugs like lyrica or cymbalta. I know about pain as I have fibromyalgia, carpal tunnel, a screwed up knee and nueroma in my feet. You seriously need to speak with your doctor or a pharmacist. Pain can be overcome with the right meds.

Does anyone know if suboxine can be used for pain. i have fibromylgia and have ruptured disks and pinched syacitia nerves. im currently on 3 5mg of loritabs and 3 300mg of neurotin a day for pain mag. but it dosnt really work most days. i tried suboxin one day and it helped my pain much more than my meds. was i imagining it or does it really help. ## Suboxone can help with pain, although it's probably not nearly as potent as other narcotic pain meds. It could be that you had imagined it to be more potent than other previous treatment options. I believe your thoughts are just as real as what's in front of you. Has anyone else had success using Suboxone for pain? ## I have been using oxi for over a year.I have an extremly bad back 30 years hiking but my addictive tendencies made i...

I have suffered from all over body pains in muscles & joints for over a year. They have me on a cocktail of meds, none of which seem to assist, such as Cynbalta, Lyrica etc. I have also been on Synap-Forte which seems to assist with the pain the best, but now they want to remove it from the market. I'm at my wits end as this is the only med that really helps. The others just make me feel terrible & & cough like a sick dog when I take Lyrica. The doctors have diagnosed Fibromyalgia, but it seems far more. Can you advise me as this pain is belilitating me that all I do is stay in bed all day. ## I have Fibromyalgia, and most days, it seems as thought there HAS to be something worse going on. I have been on methadone (pill form) for several years now, and need some help. ## oops forgot the rest! as I said I have been on methadone for several years now 60 mg per day. I have full blown cronic hep c stage one fibrosis, osterperosis, fibromayalga severe back trouble and who knows what else at this time! I started out on oxycodone 40mg three times a day and had to switch to methadone due to cost of meds. I recently was in a car accident and tried to go back to oxy's, my doctor put me on 40mg three times a day as before. This is not working as after three monthes by body still hurts from the methadone. I am considering going back to methadone however 60mg per day no longer helps. How do I convert back, and what would be the mg. I should consider to discuss with my Doctor. or d...

From what I have learned over the past year is that there is not even a prescription to help or give comfort to the Lungs... Is their another herb on the market that may at least give something as small as onc percent? Thank you for your time and trouble regarding this situation... I remain, Jimmy ## Well there are meds in the US, at least, the can be used for lung problems and discomfort. If you try an herbal remedy, you run in to the problem that those are just as strong as prescription meds, but unregulated, so they can be just as dangerous and cause reactions with other meds you are taking. Have you spoken with your doctor about this? Please do so, or check with your pharmacist before adding any herbal remedies.

How can I get my Dr. to understand I've built a tolerance to pain meds. Same dosage for 2 yrs . 80mgs of oxycontin and 30mgs of opana daily . I have severe osteoarthritis bursitis and fibromyaliga. Dr. says that's the maxi he can give me. Should I look for another pain Dr.?? ## What is the difference in the old oxycontin and the new?? How can I tell which I have? ## Gigi4121! How are you? The new Oxycontin tablets were reformulated to help make them more abuse proof and the old ones are no longer being manufactured, so it is fairly safe to say that if you've gotten them filled within the past year, you have the new tablets. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth an...
