After bleeding for 6 weeks straight I finally got an answer to what is wrong with me. I was diagnosed with mild PCOS & pre diabetic (more examinations need to be done)...I was told to take medroxy 10mg for 10 days, I was told my bleeding would stop & then about a week after I'd get my period. I have been taking for 5 days and my bleeding did stop but on the 5th day of taking meds (today) I am bleeding & feeling like I'm having a cycle! Is this normal? I still have 5 more pills to take! I feel like my reaction is different than EVERYONE ELSE'S! ## Hello, Tay! How are you? Yes I was taking Merdroxypr AC 10mg because I was suppose to have a Essure procedure in January. I have always had somewhat periods but now this month I have not started my period, could it be due to the medicine or could I be pregnant. ## Medroxyprogesterone, commonly prescribed under the brand name Provera, is a hormone, most commonly prescribed to help regulate ovulation and the menstrual cycle. That said, this site is not medical professionals, we cannot give you a definitive answer. It is possible that either one could be the reason, it may be the effect of the medication or you may be pregnant, the only way to find out for sure is to see your doctor. Have you contacted them, yet?

I've been taking medroxy for 4 days and the bleeding hasn't stopped is this normal ? I have 6 days left of pills I've been bleeding on and off for 3 months now, it's been more heavier this past week. The bleeding only started when the doctor put me on birth control and now we can't seem to get it to stop ## Have you stopped taking the birth control? And as to the Medroxyprogesterone, it could take 10 days, or more for it to get the bleeding to stop….and it is only going to work if the bleeding is being caused by a lack of progesterone being produced by your body. You may actually need estrogen, as well, to get it to stop. What type of doctor are you seeing for this issue?

I am on APO-MEDROXY 10 mgs once a day for post menopausal abnormal bleeding. can this pill be cut in half and only 1/2 taken daily ? ## How long have you been taking it? Has it helped the bleeding, so far? You should probably consult your doctor, before making any changes to the dosage. There is a 5mg dosage that's used, but it really depends on your, your overall health, how severe the bleeding is and what's causing it and etc. Learn more about Medroxyprogesterone Details here. I also have to admit that I am not familiar with the APO tablet, so I am not sure if it is safe to cut in half. Is there any labeling on the bottle that warns against doing so?

I am in menopause, my doctor has me take 2 Medroxypr ac 2.5 mg. pills for 10 days every 3 months to cause me to cycle. He stated that since my body isn't naturally sluffing off the cells like it use to, this will do that. Does anyone else do this? My Dr prescribed this medication for me cause I have a thick linen around the inside of my uterus. I have to start it the 12 day of my cycle and take it for 12 days. In April I started on the 6th and it lasted like a normal period. Then after I started the pill, a few days before I stopped the pill, I started my period again. But this time my period has as of today lasted for almost two weeks. So that is two periods in one month and now it is may and I am still on my period. Is this normal, cause I am getting really frustrated right now. I am suppose to start the meds again this weekend, but if I am going to have more than one period and it last forever, I don't want to take it no more. ## Medroxyprogesterone is a hormone and what you are experiencing are normal side effects of taki...

Here is my story. I'm 35 and have always had odd or no periods. I do have pcos and had endometriosis. The end of October this year I had a d & c and a hysto-something to clear me out and run diagnostics. Then started the medroxy for 10 days on the 16th of November. Just started my period on the 4th and it seems to be just like all my other past ones. Like I'm dying. If it stays like this do I start my next medroxy round on the 16th still? Before the d & c I hadn't had a period for well over a year and a half. Most of my periods that I have had normally last for 6 weeks to 3 months. Again like I'm dying. I'm working on all this to finally start my family. So any help is good help. ## Hello, Moni! How are you? I'm sorry about the problems you're having....

Can this medicine give you a UTI? I don't take baths, and it started 2 days after I started taking Medroxypr. ## Medroxyprogesterone is a hormone, commonly used in Contraceptives. It is not known to cause UTIs, however, there are other ways they can occur, it doesn't require taking a bath. They can also occur from eating something or having another medical condition that causes an imbalance and lets the infection set it. Sometimes they just occur for no known reason. I'm trying to find out where I can obtain Medrox 120gm. 4 fl oz. ## Hi Pam, Please correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've seen posted on the internet, Medrox-Rx appears to be available over the counter OR via prescription; the latter being that you'd essentially have to make an appointment with your doctor first in order to receive a script that you could then have filled at the pharmacy. But if you're already passed this point and are just having trouble locating a pharmacy that carries it, I'd actually recommend talking with a local pharmacist directly about either placing an order for it from the manufacturer (to replenish their stock) or looking into different types of mail-order options they may offer as an alternative. It's not listed as a controll...

Medroxyprogesterone (INN, BAN), also known as 17α-hydroxy-6α-methylprogesterone, and abbreviated as MP, is a steroidal progestin drug which was never marketed for use in humans.[1] An acylated derivative, medroxyprogesterone acetate (MPA), is clinically used as a pharmaceutical medicine.[2] Compared to MPA, MP is over two orders of magnitude less potent as a progestogen.[3] As such, MP itself is not used clinically, though it has seen limited use in veterinary medicine under the tra...
