diet pill oxcycontin ## found 2 white oval pills with a circle in the middle and a jagged line(lightening bolt?) thru the circle. only on one side.any ideas? appreciate it. ## First off, let me state that Oxycontin IS NOT A DIET PILL!!! Oxycontin is a very potent narcotic pain killer, highly addictive and very dangerous to use without a doctor's supervision. To Kelle, sorry, that is not a prescription drug marking, that is something available over the counter and there is no way to know for certain what it is, because OTC items are not regulated like prescription items.

I am currently in rehab recovering from back surgery. I had three herniated disk in my back. My surgeon preformed Anterior Cervical Interbody Fusion surgery. I have been on 2 mg of Oxycodone every four hours around the clock for two months. I am a former heron user and have been clean for 7 years. I tried delaying taking my meds but after 5 to 6 hours, my withdrawal becomes too much. I cannot get the doctors here to understand how drugs effect me as an ex addict. This will not for be nor will I take that chance with my life. It has been great for the past 7 years after 20 years of being addicted. These places give people this drugs and have to plan other than to cut down the dose. I am going to be released in two weeks and have to return to work. I cannot go into detox, I have already b...

Marijuana mixed with drugs......how can I help my son to stop with this addiction ## Yes..depending on the drug...never heard of sub's for marijuana only severe addictions to opiate pain killers...ozycontin, vicodin, Percocet, opana so on.... Sub's saved my life... Good luck ## Subs saved your life? What were you using and are you now off subs? I have been on them for 5 years only because I cannot withdraw from them without severe withdrawal symptoms. ## Depending on how old, you can do many things. Inpatient rehab will mess up a child's life trust me. So will an ass whoopin. I'd go with ass whooping first, then try impatient treatment. But I doubt you can do anything that would help unless you moved to the middle of the woods were substances are no were to be seen. ## M...

I know vicodin is addictive, but what I want to know is: For the people who are in chronic severe long term pain, is getting off it any easier? Vicodin isnt that strong, it is only a little stronger than acetomeniphen and codiene but theres something about vicodin that makes it much more addictive, does anybody know? ## No! But I would like to know what it is. My husband has been taking Vicodin, off and on, for 2 years. He takes it for severe pain. ## Well me being a ex drug addict to perscription drugs my comment to this would be...When we get addicted we can take up to 30 pills and not care or we start mixing a lot even drink with the meds. This causes more damage and health problems to are body....This making in the end the pain worse..It's a lot like alcohol It's ok why your...

My husband is an alcoholic and trying hard to to stop drinking ,however this is very dangerous n we are wanting know how to slowly taper off and for how long without causing himself death or seizures ..any answers would be very appreciated our marriage depends on this for he is very angry on alcohol ## I am sorry about what you're dealing with. All addictions are tough. The best thing for him to do, for his own safety, would be to get medical help and possibly the support of something like AA. How much does he drink and how often? Does he spend any time sober? ## For withdrawal there is physical consequences such as seizures. He should stop cold turkey under guidance from your doctor who could prescribe drugs such as valium. Alcohol damages brain cells which resultsinthe above plus p...

I was prescribed opiate painkillers for 5 years. I gradually became totally addicted to the point that while these drugs ( Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Oxycontin and others) worked well for their intended purpose, the 'good feeling" they gave me became the focal point of my life. The unavoidable physical and psychological dependence eventually led to serious and harmful consequences- damaged or ruined relationships (divorce in my case) with people who were now less important than the drugs. Responsibilities and interests I had fell by the wayside. Although I have a legitimate need for pain relief due to nerve damage caused by disease, the doctor saw that I was abusing the drugs- taking too much and using them to get high- and cut me off. The withdrawal symptoms were horrific. I went ...

My pain mgmt. person is taking me off of Lyrica due to it being highly addictive. I am 64 and have been on this med, in conjunction with Oxycodone 10mg, since it was on the market. Is it true that ALL pain mgmt. doctors are no longer prescribing Lyrica? It works so well for dealing with the severe stenosis problems I have. ## Hello Lory, Short answer is no, not all pain management doctors have stopped prescribing lyrica. What I will say is that the number of doctors refusing to prescribe these types of medication is growing due to the much stronger enforcement of opiods and other addictive prescription drugs. The reasoning for this is due in large part to the government's increasing regulation of the market. This crack down is in response to what people are calling the "opioid c...

I'm taking 80 mg of Oxyicodone and 1 mg Xanax daily. How many Tramidol do I have to take to get off these drugs. I was diagnosed with cancer but am cancer free right now. Please help. ## I read that tramadol helps with withdrawals from Oxicodone. I take 80 mg per day. I also have 2 .5 mg of Xanax per day. I was diagnosed with cancer and it hasn't come back yesterday but everyday is a panic to find if its returned. I'd appreciate any help. I want to be freed from this drug. ## Hello, Sharon! How are you? It would be best for you to get medical assistance with stopping it. As to using the Tramadol, it can help in some cases, but it is a very mild opioid and also carries its own risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry m...

Hi I am a user of df 118s have been for over 7 years now. I have these on prescription though my local drug & addiction clinic. I get some off friends of friends sometimes and recently got some that are 6 years out of date. Im just wondering if these are still safe to take so long after the expiry date. If you have any answers please let me know. Thanks

My mother was prescribed to take zubsolv 1.4/.36 in halves. The doctor said it was for pain management but I've been looking around and it is only approved for addiction therapy. My mother had been completely off of opiates for a couple of months before being prescribed this medication. Oddly enough, he prescribed it in combination with cymbalta and I read that there is a risk of interaction with seratonergic drugs. All it does is make her sick and does nothing for her pain. She stopped taking it after 2 doses. She does suffer from chronic neuropathy in her leg from a blood clot surgery and has spinal degeneration as well. Am I wrong in thinking the doctor assumed she was physically addicted to opiates? ## While it does contain a potent opiate, which is Buprenorphine, along with the...

My parther for 4 years now engaged to be married next year. He is an ex-addict. Weaned off sub for two year before we went overseas 6 months ago, came back and he started acting very strange lying etc.... apparently the same thing happen before we met when he got back from an overseas trip he reverted back to drugs. Now he is back on the suboxone (which I am proud of him for doing cause he did it on his own accord) I did not know that he was taking drugs, he hid that pretty well although I had my suspicions. Now when I found out he was back on the suboxone I asked him to be honest with me and tell me if he went back onto hard drugs, he did take over the counter codiene but I know that he was on a lot more than just codiene... I have not confronted him with what I know as I think it is b...

Marijuana mixed with drugs......how can I help my son to stop with this addiction ## What is the pill he's taking and how much is he taking? Suboxone is only used to treat very serious drug addiction, such as someone that's abusing and addicted to very large daily doses of Oxycodone, or other opiates. Learn more Suboxone details here. It isn't safe to use it to treat just occasional use habits. ## Do not get your son started on Suboxone, it is highly addictive and will ruin his life, better to be on marijuana, additionally marijuana withdrawal is nothing, anyone can do it with little to no discomfort, believe me I stopped cold turkey after two years of everyday smoking. As for suboxone, I cannot get off it and it is ruining my life. I hope this gets to you in time.

I broke my neck and my back when I was 29. Never used drugs, I didn't drink or anything, then they sent me to a pain clinic and they never told me it was addictive. I got addicted to it real bad. I have 2 kids. I never neglected them except for showing them my time. I got to the point that I can deal with addiction and more so I wanted a different life. I was on Suboxone for 3 years now and it made my life ten times better. I was able to be the parent that I needed to be. Now I'm just scared that I'm not going to be able to bring myself off of these. ## Hello, Samantha! How are you? Actually, the great thing about Suboxone is that most people are able to successfully come off it and be completely drug free. It does require a slow taper, but that's why it is preferred ove...

I have been on hydrocodone for five years 10 mg for what started out for back pain. The time has come for me to stop since it has become an addiction. I will be out Friday 05/11/2012 and will begin to detox myself @ home. just wanting to know how long they take to get out of your system, and things to do to help while going through the with drawl process. ## While I don't have any personal experience with this medication, I have read that it could be in your system for about a week or so (depending on a number of factors). Usually for drugs like this, I think the safest way to stop taking them is to taper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of seve...

Hi. I'm concerned about my brother. He has been on Naltrexone now (again) for a H addiction. He's been doing great but today lots of signs pointed to him decieving us again and I'm sure he was affected by something when he returned to the party we were at after he disappeared (for an hour) to get smokes. I'm sure his pupils were constricted and he was sweating a couple of hours later (it wasn't hot here by the way). His wife watches him take his naltrexone every night before bed and is sure he doesn't spit it out. What other drugs could he still be using? We were hoping naltrexone would cancel out everything :( ## Suboxone 8mg or subutex 8mg analgesic works by blocking the Nero receptors the same way. I have been on it for about 2 months. I am stopping cold turkey. What is going to happen to me? Fentantnl 25MG patch. ## Hello, Jenn! How are you? Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic, over 80 times stronger than Morphine, so you stopping abruptly will likely cause some severe withdrawal effects, such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, nervousness and insomnia. It would be much safer and easier to do a gradual taper, which may involve other medications. Have you consulted your doctor for assistance? ## Just like most prescription drugs fentanyl is is under the controlled substance act witch means it is addictive, after 2 months of continues use if you quite cold turkey it could force you into withdrawl. If your currently on another prescription pain med that may reduce the withdrawl symptoms ...
