I had a miscarriage on 20th june 2010 and after that i did not had my periods. i had a pregnancy test and was not pregnant. kindly suggest me some medicines for starting my periods again. ## Sorry to hear about your miscarriage. After a pregnancy your body might take some time before returning to normal with its hormones, etc. You might want to check with your doctor and see if they can recommend birth control pills, since some women use them to regulate their menstrual cycle. It is definitely a good idea to find out which birth control pills would be best for you from your doctor because they would be most familiar with your specific medical history. Hope this helps! ## some medicines for starting my periods ## i am 24 years old i didn't my menses this month.i didn't knowwhy sh...

I was taking a birthcontrol , n then I switched to another pill brand before my period started . N now I have all the pains like I'm going to start but nothing. So I'm continuing to take the pill n also saw on line that taking 3000mgs of vitamin -c will bring down your period . So I'm trying that now I'm on day 2 of taking vitamin -c . I took a test n I'm not pregnant . Do you think it's because I switched brands at the wrong time. I've never experienced this before so I'm freaking out . ## Hello, Garcia! How are you? First, that is just a myth about vitamin C, it will not actually bring on your period. As to the oral contraceptives, yes. It is most likely due to your switching, especially if the hormone levels in the new one are different than those in t...

So i took a break from taking sprintec birth control pills for a month. I stopped in November and started taking them again in January. My period checker stated i was supposed to have my period 2 days later. Ive started the pills beginning on sunday now i have a brown discharge, is this normal? Am I ok? ## Hello, Chanel! How are you? Well, when you're on oral contraceptives, your period will adjust to them and not stay on its usual schedule, additionally, by stopping for a month, you threw your hormones levels off and a period checker would most likely not be totally accurate, anyway, since it doesn't take that into account. And, since restarting some unusual breakthrough bleeding is also to be expected, as listed by the FDA, other side effects may include headaches, irritabilit...

I have never taken BC (Sprintec) before. And I started my first pack a week before my period was supposed to come. And now it is a week into my first pack and I have gotten my period, and I am still taking the active pills. - This is the time of month I would have normally gotten my period if i wouldn't have started BC a week ago. But it concerns me because I have my period while taking the ACTIVE pills. Is this normal? And will it correct itself, so I get my period when I take the inactive pills in the future? ## Hello, Drew! How are you? It is normal to have irregular bleeding for the first 3 months, while your body is getting used to the hormones in the oral contraceptives. Eventually, things should balance out and you'll get your period only during the week of the inactive p...

I'm on an antibiotic to get rid of my UTI. I don't start my white pill until tomorrow but I'm bleeding now. I've been on sprintec for almost 4 months now and my period usually happens the sencind it third day if the white pills. Is something wrong? And should I take my blue pill today? ## Hello, Grace! How are you? Some antibiotics lower the efficacy of oral contraceptives by reducing the amount of estrogen that you absorb. Thus, your body is reacting just like it would during your period week and don't take any hormones. You should continue taking them all, just as you normally do and use a backup method of protection, until you've finished your course of antibiotics and have taken 7 active tablets in a row after finishing them, which means no unprotected interc...

I was taking a diff kind of birth control but it was casing problems so my doctor put me on Sprintec. I took my first pill yesterday and I woke up spotting or started my period. is this normal? ## Hello, KP! How are you? Yes, that can happen if the new one has a different amount of hormones in it than the other one did. Such side effects can occur for the first 3 months or so, when you start a new OC. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## July 26th 2017 the day of my doctors appointment I got prescribed Sprintec birth control pills. I didn't start taking them until August 6th which was on a Sunday. Today will be my sixth day taking the blue pill. (Week 1) I was suppose to get my period August 9th but never got it. I've missed it, it's been late for 3 days now. My boy...

For the past 2 months, my period has started 1 or 2 days before the light blue inactive pills. Is this normal? ## Hello, Jenn! How are you? Yes, that can happen and is generally nothing to worry about, as long as your most recent pap smear was normal. Unless your doctor feels that there is some reason to be concerned. Aside from breakthrough bleeding, the FDA lists the other side effect of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, PMS-like symptoms and weight gain. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have never taken birth control before and my doctor told me to take sprintec after my period started.I needed it sooner so I took it a week before my period started. Is this okay or will I stop the process from working right? ## Hello, Meagan! How are you? According to NIH instructions, if you start them, when you are not on the first or second day of your period, it will take 7 days for them to become effective at preventing pregnancy, so a backup method of contraception should be used, until the 8th day. If you start them the first or second day of your period, they are immediately effective at prevent pregnancy. I started Tri-Sprintec the day after i filled my prescription on Saturday June 6th. My period isn't due until June 16. I'm confused on what to do now. Do I need need to stop this pack and start a new one the day of my period?? Can you please help me? ## Hello, Nae! How are you? No, that's not necessary. Since you started before you were on your period, it just takes a full 7 days, before it reaches its level of effectiveness in your body to prevent pregnancy. If you'd started it the first day of your period, it would be immediately effective. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, weight gain and PMS-like symptoms. You will also most likely not follow your prior period schedule, but i...

Ok, so I had a tubal ligation a few years ago and my cycles went crazy. I asked my doctor to put me on something to regulate me before my Hysteroscopy and Uterine Ablation. I am supposed to start my cycle next week in the middle of a vacation that I never ever have. I really really don't want to be on my period during a romantic getaway. What would happen if I started taking the Previfem now? 6 days before my cycle? Is it possible that I won't be on my period? I'm 33, 2 kids... Thank you! ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? Yes, it is possible that doing that might skip or delay your period and there's no harm in it, if your doctor approves. I have been taking sprintec for three years, and mono linyah for one month and then quit it all. Now my period is late for three weeks. According to the home pregnancy test I am not pregnant. Is that a side effect of taking birth control for a long time for the period to be late? ## To my understanding, Sprintec (and most oral contraceptives for that matter) can cause irregular and/or missed periods as a general side effect; due to fluctuations in your hormone levels. So I don't think it's anything to be overly concerned about. Especially if you recently stopped taking it in an abrupt manner after 3 years. It may just take some time before your hormones begin to level out. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Sprintec Details I hope this info helps!

If I don't want to get my period on weekends is it ok the start y first pack of loestrtin fe on Friday which is the 4th day of my period? My doctor said you are supposed to start the day after my period ends but would rather start on a Friday. ## Hello, Jenn! How are you? That's very odd, you are normally supposed to start them the first or second day of your period, so they are immediately effective at protecting you against pregnancy, according to the FDA. You can actually start them at any time, but if it is later in your cycle than the first or second of your period, it will take 7 days, before they become effective to prevent pregnancy, which means you will have to use a backup method of contraception until the 8th day of taking them. Hi, This is my first time taking birth control period. I started the pack on the 21st of last month. I finished the brown pills & started the new pack a few days ago. Was I supposed to wait for my period to come before starting the new pack? Or am I ok? ## Hello, Whit! How are you? No, you are fine, you are supposed to continue to the new pack, regardless of whether or not you have a period. Some women don't have them, while taking oral contraceptives. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I started taking 'the pill' during my period, but my period ended before the end of the placebo tablets. Do I keep taking them or wait for the next period?! ## Hello, Chilsy! How are you? You're actually not supposed to start with the placebo tablets. You should have started by taking the first active tablet on the first day of your period. Doing that means you will be immediately protected from pregnancy, since they will prevent ovulation from occurring. However, you can start them at any point in your cycle, but you'll need to take 7 active tablets continuously, before you'll be protected against pregnancy. That means no unprotected intercourse, until the 8th day. You may also experience side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, bloating and ...

I just started Beyaz a little over a week ago, knowing I was going to be expecting my period in a week. My doctor said I could start any time I like, though she recommended I start during the first 24 hours when I did start my period. Am I supposed to be worried if I don't quite start on time or is the Beyaz just effective now because it's passed the 7 days and I'll get it later on? I've only fooled around with my boyfriend once after the 7th day but he pulled out... I'm just really new to birth control. Thank you! ## Normally, when you start a hormonal contraceptive, it will adjust your menstrual cycle accordingly, so you can expect to have your next regular period at the time the contraceptive allows you to do so, which would be during the placebo pill week.
