Dear Doctor , I am 25 years of age and i had a throat infection and my doctor prescribed Taxim injection for 5 days 2 each one morning and one on evening with an interval of 12 hours ,after 2 injection i had improved. Due to distance ,to reach in hospital prescribed doctor told to take injection in nearby hospital ,Doctor in that hospital told this injection has a very high dose as his son had injury in head he didnt allow to give it ,So may i know it make any problem in my future

I get throat infections once a year esp. in the monsoons. There is a severe soar throat. eyeball paining, mild headache, muscular body pain & irritation to slightest bothering.. normally i wait for 2.. 3.. days for the bodies immune system to do the needful.. but only when i do not notice any improvements.. i go to the chemist & get this pill.. I have had a slight throat ache and nasal congestion with a fever of about 99.3. My doctor gave me ceftum 500 for 5 days. After 5 days fever still is coming up to 99.3 and becomes normal if I take a crocin. My wbc count is 11600 with nuetrophiles at 63%. is this some kind of viral infection as the antibiotic does not seem to help

Hi, I will be frequently getting throat infection. When i consult the doctor i came to know it happens due to dust and less consumption of Water. So please suggest me any tablet for emergency. ## Actually, if that's what's causing your problem, then the best solution would be to avoid dusty areas and drink more water. Prevention is much better and safer than taking repeated courses of medications. Medications cause the risk of serious side effects and complications, but there are none associated with drinking a little more water and staying away from dust. The only reason you can't do this would be if you're on a fluid restricted diet. Is there anything else I can help with?

is nitrofurantoin useful for throat infection?? ## Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic. It is usually used in treating urinary tract infection. Like many other drugs, it is often used for killing E Coli. I did not locate anywhere that it treats throat infections, I would go to your nearest pharmacist and ask he/she what they think before you take it. 3 nights ago, I suddenly developed chills on my hands and feet; followed by ache and soreness. Seemed like like sore throat, the pain under my left jaw( right side too but not as painful) with tension headache or migraine( I'm a migraine sufferer) took maxalt melt but didn't work. Nausea and acidic stomach. After vomit twice, I took 2 x 500mg Aspro - headache gone after half hour, but nausea and pain under chin and jaw kept me from sleeping. I found some Roxithromycin and took one 150mg tab on the third day. The pain around my neck, and collarbone abated. It's Easter weekend can't see my doctor till next Tue or Wed (another 2-3days). Should I continue taking the Roxithromycin until I see my doc? I also have some amoxicillin but I try not to mix. Thanks

Hi, my 10 month old son has an ear infection and was given Pinamox. He also has a chest infection, alot of phelgm on the chest and a hard cough.
