My little brother was prescribed 25 mg Hydroxcine for his sleeping disorder and I am trying to find out if there is something better to give him since the doctor is using that pills side affect to help him sleep, he has a disorder that he can't ever fall asleep on his own, he needs something to help him. ## In reality, since it's an antihistamine that can cause drowsiness as a side effect, it is likely safer than many of the other choices. Would anybody reccomend Mirtazapine for uses of getting to sleep at night as both me and my grandmother struggle with getting to sleep over the whole week i get approx 3-4hrs total and have suffered sleep deprovation resulting in regular halucinations i just want a decent nights sleep ## Hello, Haribo86! How are you? It may help, but it will likely take several weeks. When you first start taking it, you may experience the side effect of ROL, which is REM onset latency, it causes you to spend less time in REM sleep than usual and it can take 3 to 4 weeks for things to improve and for that side effect to go away. The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache and weight gain. Has it been prescribed for you?

I have taken amoxcicilina for all kinds of infections,and let me tell you that all my infection were gone.I also used this medicine on my dog and cat too, when my dog had a cut it was getting infected but I gave him amoxicilina his cut got better and went away, my cat had the flue he was down just sleeping his face was very sad not wanting to play or get up, I gave him this medicine cuz I seen he had buger on his eyes I was always cleaning them .I gave him amoxiciline just in case he had an infection by the next day he was runing and playing with us again just like any other day .I used it on my kids too ...but I tell you if you have any questions or have any doubts always ask your doctor first..am just an old fashion mexican,do home remedys first lol .then after while if thinks dont wo...

I have been on Cymbalta for a couple of weeks. I don't have any problems falling asleep.Every once in a while I use to fight in my sleep or have nightmares, but maybe once every couple of months if that. Virtually all medications like this that act on brain chemicals cause disruptions to the sleep cycle, usually by REM onset latency, you spend less time in the REM stage and it is much more vivid, while you are in it. Have you consulted your doctor? It just might not be the right medication for you to take.

## I've been taking this pill which i was told would help me sleep. They're Trazodone HCL 50mg tabs. It says on the bottle that it's for insomnia. Is this a sleeping pill and what does it do?
