I have had a pink/red eye for 3 weeks now. My doctor prescribed erythromycin ophth ointment, tobramycin drops and it does not help. Should I try Terramycin? I am allergic to Bactrim which contains sulfate. Does Terramycin contain sulfate? ## Hello, Christy! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. How long have you been using the ointment and drops? They will take time to clear it up and won't work immediately. No, Terramycin is not a sulfa drug, but you shouldn't use it, unless your doctor approves as it may not be appropriate to treat the type of infection you have. Typical side effects to these topical products may include eye redness, irritation and skin rash. ## I have an inflamed red eyelid. May I use Terramycin ointment? If so, where can I find...

Will cephalexin cure pink eye along with erythromycin ointment? The ointment does not seem to be clearing it up so I was wondering if I took cephalexin along with using the ointment if it would help? ## If the ointment isn't helping, you may need to return to your doctor, because not all pink eye is caused by bacteria, there is also a viral form and an allergic form, if you have one of those 2, then antibiotics will not help, according to the NIH. If it is viral, it will eventually clear up on its own, in most cases and if it is allergic, you may need an allergy medication. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I'm going back to my dr today for eye drops. Ointment isn't working.

I have pink eye in not just one eye but both now : ( Please reply with the answer. ## Hmm it depends if the pink eye is caused by a virus or bacteria. If it's viral pink eye then this won't help. What did your doc tell you? Has your condition improved or worsened since last week?

small pink round pill with the number 33 on it ## If the only imprint on it, is the number 33, then It does not appear to be a prescription med, it is probably something over the counter. ## Actually, this is an over the counter medication called Diphenhydramine or generic Benadryl. It is an antihistimine used for allergies, itchy eyes, hives, nausea and other things. Side effects include drowsiness, dizziness, headache, among others. ## That's what I figured, I was in a lot of pain when I replied, so I just wasn't up to searching a ton of databases to try and find it. Thanks nenene! ## Those pink ones and some of the little round red ones now stick in my mind as over the counter benadryl and over the counter sudafed. ## See, I am always thinking of a lot that aren't, so I u...

I used this medication on my little girl for pink eye and it really helps but now she has a kind of rash under her eye that comes and goes. It's been like this all day. Is it normal? What should I do? ## This is an antibiotic ointment and most antibiotics, whether used topically or taken orally, can cause a non-allergic skin rash as a side effect. Have you consulted her doctor? In most cases, it will go away, shortly after she finishes the treatment regimen. ## People, this terramicina is for the eyes. I think you're confused with vitacilina that's used for diaper rash. ## Where can I purchase one of these creams? My daughter has had a bad sty for a week and someone told me this cream was golden to help with stys. SOMEONE HELP please!

Was using for very bad migraines, my pa no longer prescribes them to me, I really need them. I'm not addicted, I only take them when needed, so what should I do? I also use them for bad toothaches. ## Hi Shandra, Sorry to hear about your situation with migraines. Seeing as you're no longer being prescribed hydrocodone, my advice would be to try out some other alternatives. According to Dr. Oz, ginger tea, peppermint oil, and capsaicin cream (cayenne pepper) make for excellent migraine remedies. My research also yielded results for black cumin seed oil (nigella sativa) that you can simply apply on the back of your neck, over your eyes and at the hairline for relief. Nigella sativa also doubles as a toothache remedy. Though I'd also encourage you to try clove oil for that. The...

I woul like to know the name of a small pink pill with a capital G on one side and nothing on the other. Anyone know what this is? ## Hi Frankie, The closest match I've been able to find is Phenylephrine hydrochloride (5mg); which is a round pink pill with the imprint G 55. Maybe the 55 got rubbed off at some point? Manufacturer: Unifirst First Aid Corporation Phenylephrine is used as a decongestant sold as an oral medicine, as a nasal spray, or as eye drops. Phenylephrine is now the most common over-the-counter decongestant in the United States; oxymetazoline is a more common nasal spray. It is also used as a nasal spray, an eye drop to dilate the pupil in order to facilitate visualization of the retina, and as a vasopressor to increase the blood pressure in unstable patients with ...

used for pink eye ## Does anyone know where Argerol can be purchased? My 85-year-old mother has a nasal infection that antibiotics aren't curing. Argerol has helped her in the past, but she ran out recently and her phramacist hasn't been able to order more. This is URGENT. Thanks. Steve ## Last year, I searched all over the country and made inquiry of people overseas.....apparently, Argerol can't be purchased anywhere, even with a prescription. Most of the pharmacists I spoke with, had never even heard of it. I did run across an older, more experienced pharmacist who remembered the drug and said it had been off the market for about 15 years. Sorry :-( ## Yes, Vicki is correct, Algerol was actually Silver Nitrate, which of course was found to be toxic when ingested. ## Funny ...

But there is a mark on it, its a indent type, it kinda looks like half of a dimond , this kind of dimond but if ya turn the dimond long ways and take the bottom off. I dont have no little kids, but I do have a dog. I just happen to be doing yard work, it just caught my eye! It rained here 3 days ago, so it was put into my yard with in 3 days. Or this would of melted.

Eye drops for Pink Eye ## My daughter was prescribed sulfacetamide 10% for her pink eye. She had no eye discharge before she began to use it. She has only been on the meds for one day. Now her eye has a yelow discharge that if left to long will not allow her eye to open. Is this an allergic reaction or has her pink eye turned bacterial? Or should I just be patient and run the course of Antibiotics and then go back if needed. ## In regards to the post from mother of 5, it may have been due to her daughter being sensitive to sulfa, since this a sulfa based medication. Some people are, though they may not have an actual full allergy and it can cause some odd effects to manifest. Learn more Sulfacetamide details here. I found a Small Pink Round Pill with 257 on one side and 9 on the other side, in the room our neice stayed in. The 9 could possibly be the image of an eye... it is not a smooth oval 9 but made with straight edges. Any help would be great. ## Based on the description provided, I've identified your pink pill to be Gianvi; which contains a combination of Drospirenone (3 mg) + Ethinyl estradiol (0.02 mg). It is used for birth control, acne, menstral problems, and other uses. NOTE: The actual marking is 257 b (the 'b' looks like a 9 with straight edges as you described) If you have any more questions or concerns, please post back and I will be happy to help you.

However, I would like to add that this may not always be found just under the Equate brand from Wal-Mart. This is actually just a general generic and you may find it in other stores as their generic or store brand, as well. In some cases, it is even just under its own brand name, which is Diphenhist. It is equivalent to Benadryl and may cause some side effects, such as nausea, dizziness and drowsiness Is there anything I can help anyone with? I'll also add a link to ...

I have pink eye. Can I use terramicina in my eye as a salve, or just around the eye? ## I think it really depends on whether or not you have the ointment, powder or the eye drops. There should be instructions on the package, no? That's just wrong if there isn't, as from what I can tell it can be used to treat pink eye. Based on information i've gathered, the application guidelines are simple. Listed below are the indications for the ointment: "Broad-spectrum antibiotic ideal for mild bacterial eye infections Easy to use - simply apply ointment directly on the affected area" I'm assuming that the eye drops are no different other than actually dropping it into your eye. Here is an information link to the powdered form of this medication as well (it states: puff pow...

Hi, I got pink eye a week ago and started to use polysporin eye drop for a day, then it got worse and more swollen and more painful. Dr prescribed me tobremycin eye drops, then after 3 days my eye got worse and worse. Tears running non stop and my eye is like a bowl of blood. It is so itchy and painful. I hardly can open my eye. After 5 days my Dr prescribed oral medicine (clindamycin 300mg) 3x daily. I just started last night but there is no change. I am so worried about this issue. He said if it gets worse i have to do some inj. ## The general rule with oral antibiotics is that if they are working, you shouldn't see any worsening after taking it for a full 24 hours, and you should start to see improvement after taking it for a full 3 days.
