Rash after quitting Lyrica
46 Replies RSS
I took Lyrica (150mg daily) for 2 years. The medicine helped reduce my leg and hip gain greatly. In January I started working out daily and dieting and lost 30 pounds. I gradually have quit taking Lyrica and am having only a small amount of discomfort at times. The problem is that upon quitting the Lyrica the back of my knees started itching and welps appeared after I scratched them. It has been 3 weeks since I stopped taking Lyrica and I am still itchy. Has this happened to anyone else? Could this be a result of nerve damage? ## Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, it is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain. It sounds like what you may be experiencing is a common withdrawal effect from your body trying to readjust to not havin... ...

WHAT IS IT FOR ## I need a list of OTC meds that are equivalent to R-Tanna. Thanks. ## What is R-Tanna (chlorpheniramine and phenylephrine)? Phenylephrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose). The combination of chlorpheniramine and phenylephrine is used to treat symptoms of the common cold or seasonal allergies, including sneezing, runny or stuffy nose, and itchy, watery eyes. ...

prescribed for itching relief. it is a small dark gree tablet ## Atarax is an antihistamine used to relieve the symptoms of common anxiety and tension and, in combination with other medications, to treat anxiety that results from physical illness. It also relieves itching from allergic reactions and can be used as a sedative before and after general anesthesia. Antihistamines work by decreasing the effects of histamine, a chemical the body releases that narrows air passages in the lungs and contributes to inflammation. Antihistamines reduce itching and swelling and dry up secretions from the nose, eyes, and throat. Atarax is not intended for long-term use (more than 4 months). Taking Januvia for years. Developed severe itching my dermatologist said stop taking it. How long till itching stops. ## If you were on it for that long, it may take a month or so, for the side effects to fully wear off and for your body to settle down and return to normal. Since it is used to treat diabetes, have you replaced it with anything else? You can't just stop a medication like this, since you still need to control your blood sugar. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, flatulence and hypoglycemia. ...

Plavix Withdrawal Symptoms

My doctor took me off Plavix two weeks ago, and I`ve noticed the bruise`s on my forearm`s starting itching alot!! Also started getting little blisters, before the itching. Is this normal? & what should I put on it until I see my doctor in 5more day`s? ## Plavix contains Clopidogrel, which is an antiplatelet agent used to help prevent clotting, so it does have an effect on circulation, so this could be a reaction to being taken off of it suddenly, because your body has to readjust to not having the medication, now. Withdrawal symptoms can manifest in many different ways. What you are describing is basically a type of hives, which means the histamine receptors in your body are probably being oversensitive, right now. There are many topical allergy products on the market that you can p... ...
