Medicine For Headache

I used to get a headache or pain reliever medicine in Tijuana in the 1980s that worked wonders for a friend who got migraines. It was not available in the USA as far as I know. I remember little about it except that it came in a cardboard box about 2" X 4" X 1/2" and I think the name was fairly long, maybe 4 syllables or more. I think it came in white tablets that were fairly large, though I am not sure that recollection is accurate. I think I would recognize the name if I saw or heard it but I just cannot recall it from my memory. Thanks so much for any help/ ## I'm sorry, but that's really not much information to go on, there are many products on the market that match such a description and since it was coming out of Mexico, there is a large list of medications it ...

Is the new formulation of fioricet now class 3. A controlled substance. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? That is what being on Schedule III means, it's been found to have potential for abuse and dependence. The Butalbital in it is a barbiturate. But you do need to understand that most prescription drugs are considered controlled substances. Is there anything else I can help with? ## It is the same except it now has 25 mg of Tylenol less. The ratio of tylenol to the barbituate changed and that is what made it now a controlled substance. It's crazy!

It's Azithromycin. It usually is a 5 day Rx prescription. Results from it last 4-10 days after prescription is over. I was given it for chronic headaches. If your doctor prescribes you GGD6 for headaches, I would ask for something else. It hasn't worked for me and I'm still getting headaches daily. ## Azithromycin is an antibiotic that's used to treat bacterial infections, it is not something prescribe for headaches. Are you certain that is the medication you're thinking of? Is the ggd6 supposed to be the marking on something or the name of something?

I already have migraine problem. what medicine should I try for my diabetes. ## Hello, Jaiho655! How are you? Sorry about the problem that you're having. Perhaps you should speak to your doctor about trying an insulin. Though insulin isn't the first choice for type 2, it can be used to treat it, you just have to check your blood sugar frequently and adjust your dose accordingly. According to the U.S. FDA taking it with the steroid still in your system could increase your risk of stomach ulceration. I was prescribed Cymbalta by my doctor for migraines and muscle tension headaches. I have read many of the other pain disorder related discussions...anyone else on this for chronic headaches? ## i take zoloft 150mg and topomax 50mg am and pm for migraine prevention. i know that for me both help. ## Cymbalta is a Selective Seratonin NorEpinephrine ReUptake Inhibitor, not having enough of this in your brain can sometimes cause severe headaches and migraines, so prescribing this type of thing to help treat them is very common. ## no comments ## whats the generic form for cymbalta?8784 ## I prefer TOPAMAX 100mg 2xday with imitrex spray for full blow mirgraines.

I would like to know of anyone has used this medication for headaches? ## yes. didn't help me with pain. put me in a stupor and i felt like a zombie. It was prescribed by MHNI ## I have never used it, but yes, I can tell you that it is sometimes used for certain types of headaches and migraines, that have failed to be alleviated by other meds. Since it reacts to brain chemicals, this can provide some relief for people with certain problems causing their headaches. But, just lik the other poster said, it didn't work for them and it will not work for everybody. Basically when you suffer from some condition causing pain, your doctor has to play the trial and error game to find out which med will work best for you, since there is no comprehensive way at this time, even as far as mod...

I started last week with a nasty tension head/neck ache. I had some OLD fioricet (From 2012!) that I gave in and took yesterday. One tab did nothing, so took 2 and another a few hours later. Now today I'm still feeling crappy! I am just worried about rebound headaches. How long could I take this safely without running into problems? I'm trying my hardest not to take it, headaches just got so bad :( ## Hello, Wendi! How are you? I'm sorry about the headaches. Unfortunately, there is no definitive answer that I can give you, because it can always vary from person to person. Some people can take this medication, as needed, for a very long time and never get rebound headaches, while others may experience them frequently. This drug has made me nauseate and black out unconsciously after three hours of taking the drug to treat my headache. Unfortunately also it did not rid of my headache. Im going back to Advil. ## Hello, Nikki! How are you? Do you mean you actually passed out, or that it just made you drowsy and you had to lay down to sleep? If it actually made you pass out, then you need to seek medical attention to have the issue checked out. Was it prescribed to treat your headaches? This isn't one that's normally used for them. ## Tramadol for headache?? That's something new I am getting to hear because as per my knowledge tramadol is very effective for all types of acute and chronic physical pains but that doesn't include headache. Have your doctor prescribed it for headache??

Is this medicine used for stomach aches? ## This medication is actually an antibiotic that is used to treat or prevent bacterial infections. Thus, it will not help with a stomach ache, unless the ache is due to some type of infection. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Has your doctor prescribed it for you?
