My Dr. prescribed a pain pill for me to take every 6 hours. What are the times I should take them? Example: 8am, 2pm, 8pm? Does that sound accurate? Thank you. ## Hello Debbie! How are you? The FDA lists the typical side effects of most of them as possibly including nausea, dizziness, and headache.

I have been taking hydrocodone and oxycodone for chronic severe pain for several years and I feel completely satisfied when I can take the proper dosage established for my pain. I do not feel a need to raise the dose of this medication, once the right dose was given to me, that seemed high enough to "fix" my pain, that dose seemed to work, as long as I took it as prescribed, I was so thankful to be able to move again and not feel the serious pain getting in my way, it worked like a charm, and I really never felt any need to increase the amount or frequency of this medication even though I have taken it pretty much the same for almost 17 years, for extremely aggressive Osteoarthritis, with a lot of bone and joint damage, with fibromyalgia. I was on 5 30mg oxycodone a day and they weren't effective anymore being id been on them for a while. My doctor switched me to 15mg morphine ir 4xs a day if oxycodone is stronger why would this happen he said the morphine is stronger ## Hello, Sheppy! How is the Morphine working for you? And Oxycodone is stronger than Morphine by one and a half times, so you'd actually need 45mgs of Morphine to equal each 30mgs you were taking of the Oxycodone. You can look it up in an equivalency chart. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Due to some mild anxiety and low level depression I was put on Viibryd two months ago to supplement the Wellbutrin 150mg I had been taking for a few years. I titrated up as scheduled from 10-20-40mg. Over the past six weeks my levels of stress and anxiety have climbed thru the roof, sleep has been awful, and sense of self-worth and usefulness has plummeted to levels I never felt before. Worst of all is a sense of depersonalization and complete loss of identity--it is very unsettling. I'm now down to 20mg and it's helping but as of today my doc has had me quit Viibryd altogether...substitute Zoloft whcih has worked for me in the past). I am a 39 year old man and my BP was always 160/100 + but later my doctor said to take Telmikind AM instead of Amcard 5. I also added a new tablet to my daily chart, Trika 0.25 tablet. Now my BP is 119/20 in normal condition, but now I only take these tablets when I need them, otherwise when I feel better I will not take any tablet. I also think the Trika 0.25 helps me cure me blood pressure because this is the medicine of hyper tension and hyper tension is the major cause of my BP. Im on a pain pump with Hydromorphone. I also take and Gabapentin and tramadol and recently my doc put me on methocarbamol also.... I seen to have a huge increase in obsessive bad thoughts and really bad depression.. is this common? is the new horrible depression because of the new med?? Really full of guilt, dread and feeling like I wish i were.... well , um ..don't have any will to go on like this... I have COPD and am also on strong pain medication. I just turned 70. Are these body jerks and twitches part of getting old? Every time I mention it to my Dr he basically ignores the question. I'm forever dropping cups of coffee, ect., which usually happens at night and they seem to be getting worse. Any info is appreciated. ## My husband's oncologist claimed it was a side effect from extended use of morphine for pain. She switched him to oxycodone and it stopped. Where are doctors who have the guts to give scripts that work? Where are the 30s??? Stop hiding docs and do your jobs..... ## It's not the doctors nor the drugs. It's the drug addicts and dealers is as to why ppl who needs meds for real reasons can't get them. Plus in state of Virginia, all doctors now have to meet with the DEA every six months and go over every patients charts to see if that person needs prescribed meds. That patient must undergo a full pain evaluation once a year for DEA. If their problems, illnesses don't meet certain criteria then dr. has cut them off that drug or lose their lic. ## There are only a few doctors left to prescribe strong narcotics. We moved from Connecticut down to Florida, with medical charts in hand. We were told in Connecticut that we could go into any CVS/Walgreens stores to refill prescriptions, as it's a universal drug store. Now, I know the Duragesic Patch cannot be refilled through the system and must be handwritten and handed to the pharmacist. We complied with those rules (Florida having many!). We went to CVS, they looked up my mother's record and saw that she indeed has the Duragesic Patch. I handed them the script and it took them 10 long days to get it in. We then decided after that experience we would use Walgreens down the road from our home. I previously had off the chart liver readings from taking Lortab 10 mg with Tylenol. My pain dr had changed my medications but now put me back on. ## What are your current liver readings? Is there a U.S. source for cheaper Pet Meds I can Get Torbutrol Cheaper. ## If you have a vlid prescription that can be confirmed by your veterinarian, there are quite a few online sources that sell pet medications much cheaper. What I had my pets, I used to use Drs. Foster and Smith, though I don't know if they carry this one, but you can check. You can also do a Google search to find other sources. I do agree with a person that posted that about how the pain med population (my words) definitely has a pain chart forum. I’m a tad bit envious, I must say. However, I'm so glad they put it out there! Because from what I read it does help lots of folks. So yes! Is there a chart or bell curve to show how fast, and how long 30mg Oxycontin pain pills provide relief ? There must be some way to determine how much pain relief I should be getting from this one pain pill lasting 12 hours, and when. Certainly no one is getting a full 30mg. of this pain medicine for the full 12 hours. I had testosterone inj's. at my Drs, office and the chart only lists a lot number. How can I find out if these inj's. were generic or brand name drugs? ## @BillyG, From what I could gather, lot numbers are issued by the manufacturer of the medication. Apparently each batch of whatever product these manufacturers make are assigned this unique set of numbers to help them monitor and keep track of certain drugs that require recalls, shipping orders, or other important measures. One article I read suggested that it be thought of as a medication's social security number in that sense. I think the only way to know for sure what you were given at the doctor's office that day would be to call in or ask during your next appointment. I hope this helps!
