what is this medicine for? ## Methylcobalamin is a Vitamin B12 nutritional supplement. It is often given to people who are deficient in this nutrient, or to help those who suffer from certain forms of nerve pain, because a deficiency in it can cause or contribute to such problems. More details: Are there any other questions? ## WHAT IS THE SIDE EFFECT OF MECOBALAMIN 500MCG? ## Yun, since this is a nutritional supplement, rather than a medication, the side effect profiles for it have not been studied, as is done for actual medications. However, some people have reported some nausea, after taking it. Are there any other questions or comments? ## plse advise use of mecobalamin 500mg (Q-bal) tablets and side effects in easy english. Im using this mecobalamin for my skin purpose as i have a lot of pimples mark in my face. Is it work for the marks, should i continue or discontinue it.plz help ## Mecobalamin is a form of Vitamin B12 used in the treatment of peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and as a preliminary treatment for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. I have personally never heard of it being used for treatment of acne or acne related scars/etc. I am not a dermatologist, but my first thought is that your hormones may be off balance (depending on your age, weight, current level of health, diet, area of infection, etc). The slightest change in hormonal balance can cause acne and if it is not brought back into balance, then other treatment options won't be very effective. You would however have to check ...

Hellllloooo, my legs and my hands become stiff when I hang or do not position them well. And I learnt that, this can lead to stroke. How can mecobalamin help me. ## Hello, Extrovert! How are you? No, such a thing will not lead to a stroke. Everyone gets stiffness and cramping, now and then and, while it can be uncomfortable, it isn't dangerous. Methylcobalamin is classified by the FDA as a B vitamin supplement, so while it is good for you and your body needs some of it each day, it doesn't actually treat or prevent muscle cramping, stiffness or stroke. Have you consulted a doctor?

I use pregabalin for diabetic neuropathy but it is also a wonder drug for frozen shoulder. Infact I could not sleep at night due to pain on my shoulder but pregabalin blocks that pain. ## I think it's great you found a medication that kills two birds with one stone! Mecobalamin or Vitamin B12 is supposed to be great for neuropathic related conditions, so I'd say you are on the right track in so far as taking this with pregabalin. If you don't mind me asking, what type of diabetes are you battling (type 1 or 2)? I would strongly recommend looking up info on the scientific evidence that Diabetes type 2 is caused by an excess of fat (not sugar) in the bloodstream, which then causes unstable blood glucose levels, an over-production of insulin,
and an over-work...

Hello, I wanted to know if taking Mecobalamin 500mcg along with Folbic is safe during pregnancy. Thanks! ## Has your doctor advised you to take them? Both are nutritional supplements, the Folic Acid is vitally important for the health of your baby and most women don't take in enough in their diets.

I started taking the above product 2 x day - light purple marked MG1 I have neuropathy with very hot feet , I am not diabetic have had it for about 10 yrs always getting worse am taking Lyrica 50 mg 3 x day ## Sorry to hear about your situation Pat. I really hope things end up turning around for the better sooner than later. Has the Lyrica even been helping at all? I know a few people who have taken this medication for nerve and only got temporary relief from it at best. If this is the case for you as well, I'd probably suggest eating more fruits and vegetables alongside acupuncture or any herbal remedies (such as essential oils). This should at least help alleviate some of the nerve pain and can be done throughout your life without the side effects of those meds. If anyone else has...

i am 50. and suffering from joints pain of all parts of body,,severe pain in legs joints, shoulders,,weakeness,,pristate problems.thyroid problems,,and my dr. has given me NURODAY and other tonics....but i have read somewhere that only 2 to 5% mecobalamin absorbs in body....awhat is the fact ?...how much it absorbs and how much it works in body compares to its price ## This is a form of vitamin B12 and your body can absorb more, because it is actually known that too much of it can also be dangerous. As to comparing that to the price, I can't help you with that, because this is not available in the U.S. and I have no information on the pricing. Have you tried discussing these issues with your doctor or pharmacist?

I am taking mecobalamin 3 times a day, are there any side effects later? thanks ## Side effects of Mecobalamin (Methylcobalamine) can include any of the following: Gastrointestinal adverse drug reactions including anorexia, nausea, and vomiting. Rashes may also occur sometime. This is definitely the better, non synthetic version of Vitamin B12. So I think if you keep following the dosage instructions on the package you shouldn't experience any (maybe very little) side effects as your body assimilates and uses this nutrient over a long period of time. If you feel like the dose is too high for any reason, just cut back on a dose and work your way up over time. You can view more information about this pill by following the link below... Please post back if you have any other general qu...

Is Mecobalamin has 500mcg of vitamin B12, whereas Neurobine has only 0.2mg. What is the difference between mcg and mg? Please advise. ## The 500mcg dosage would come out to be 0.5mg, so there is a larger dose in the Mecobalamin. Some of these higher dose ones have been known to cause nausea in some people. Is there anything else I can help with?

I wish to know the difference between usages if methylcobalamin and mecobalamin as both are prescribed by different doctors for the treatment of leg muscular pains. ## There is actually no difference in these, they are both the same thing. The correct name is Methycobalamin, but in some foreign countries, the spelling has been adulterated to Mecobalamin. However, both refer to the same form of Vitamin B12, which is often given to treat certain types of pain, because a deficiency in this vital nutrient can cause or contribute to such conditions. Have you discussed it with either doctor? It is probably not advisable to take both, without a doctor's approval, because too much B12 can also be dangerous. ## Sir, I am being prescribed either mecobalamin or methyl cobalamin by my doctors. ...
