I am diabetic patient 64 yrs old and have slipdisk problem, back pain which i under went operation in 2001. My major problem now is numbness now on my toes .i took mecobalamin 500mcg for 6 month now but no changes in condition. Can i still continue taking mecobalamin 500mcg ? And now i am thinking to add glucosamine hci 1500mg and chondroitin sulfate 1200 mg under lable flexijoint joint care powder. Please advice.thank you ## These are just nutritional supplements, so there should no be any problem taking them. But the NIH warns that they may cause nausea, and diarrhea, due to their potency. This Mecolan capsule is recommended by my Neurologist along with cabapentin tablets thrice a day gaba100+Mecolan + T Cartine morning,Gaba100+Mecolan in the afternoon, Gaba300 + Mecolan +T cartine in the night. I am taking the above for the past two months. I am a diabetic patient and the sugar is under control. I am getting sweatiness often. Is it due to Mecolan taking thrice a day. I am taking gabapentin tablets for the past seven years. There were no side effects.

The medicine 'Mecolan' is marketed by Symbiosis Pharma Chennai. The reputed firm Symbiosis Pharma is in Himachala Pradesh. They do not have a division at Chennai. It is not known whether this is a genuine firm. The product is suspected to be fake. ## Is Mecolan a multivitamin capsule? Can it be taken by women of 52 yrs of age as a vitamin supplement? Can a non diabetic who has some kind of numbness on the feet take mecobalamin? ## Yes, as long as their doctor approves, it just a b vitamin supplement, vitamin b12 to be precise.
