Hello, I have been taking Euthyrox 50 microgram pills daily for about 12 years now. Recently, I found out that the manufacturer is changing the lactose in this medicine to mannitol, which has some side effects, with the most alarming one being congestive heart failure. I have atrial fibrillation and am very worried about this issue. My question is: does this side effect only relate to large doses of mannitol? My Euthyrox pill is so light that I cannot even weigh it.

I'm having itchy skin. It's red and I need to find out which meds I'm allergic too. I've had this happen before. Taking generic maxalt (rizatriptan) and mannitol. My meds include a generic for nexium. Also, my lisinopril had changed in pill color. ## If you're certain that your symptoms are due to an allergic reaction, then the first thing to do is too look at anything new you've started taking, just before it started, or anything that's changed, such as that Lisinopril tablet, if it's fairly new to you. Have you tried Benadryl, or any other allergy remedy to see if it helps? Benadryl may cause dizziness, drowsiness, and dry mouth, as side effects, but it is a miracle allergy remedy. Ref: Benadryl Information There are multiple allergy issues in our house...

I am so frustrated with drug companies adding sugar alcohols like sorbitol and mannitol in medicines. I have been taking Prilosec for gastritis for about 10 months. My doctor asked that the pharmacist give me an rx (for gastritis) that does not contain sorbitol. I have been taking the Prilosec for over 1 month and I am still having my symptoms. I just check the ingredients and it contains mannitol which is just like sorbitol. WHY is this allowed in medicine. There are a huge number of people (especially those with irritable bowel syndrome) who are becoming sicker because sorbitol and mannitol causes gastritis issues with them and others like me who get extremely sick (and dehydrated) with just a little bit of this! It is extremely dangerous for young children and the elderly. How can I ...

After looking up Klonopin under search for inactive ingredients, I immediately saw MANNITOL, a Sucrose based sugar/sugar substitute. Look it up on WiKip, it is one of the first lines. ## Thanks for the heads up on this Jank. I understand that there are a number of alternative sweeteners out on the market, many of which aren't actually good for our health. Upon researching 'Mannitol', it's unclear to me how much of this they put in our medications and whether this unknown amount is generally regarded as safe (Re: fda.gov/Food/IngredientsPackagingLabeling/GRAS/SCOGS). Controversially, Wikipedia notes possible serious side effects such as "worsening heart failure, electrolyte imbalances and low blood volume". Seeing some mixed information from the FDA and Wiki, perh...

This particular b vitamin stands alone for its ability to support adrenal exhaustion/ dysfunction. Along with choline and mannitol, it makes my chiari 1 malformation with partially empty sella tolerable. ## Thanks for posting this information, I am sure it will be helpful to many other people with similar health conditions. Dexpanthenol is also commonly known as Vitamin B5. More information can be found here: Are there any comments or questions?

Can i take ardosons with atorvastatina together ## Hello, Rolando! How are you? I didn't find any interactions or problems listed between the Mannitol in Ardosons and the Atorvastatin, but it's always best to double check this information to be safe. Atorvastatin may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches. Has your doctor prescribed both?

My 7 month old was prescribed amox tr-K 600-42.9/5 suspension for an ear infection. I saw it had potassium and aspartame in it. I was also told to give my 7 month old Culturelle along with this which also has mannitol in it. Are these meds safe for a 7 month old and anything I should watch out for? ## Hello, Stephanie! How are you? It is far, far more dangerous to let the infection continue out of control, that can cause severe pain for your child and, if it went to far, it could cause sepsis and death. This is an antibiotic and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. The aspartame is just added to try to make it taste better for children, otherwise, it tastes horrible. Culturelle is a probiotic to help keep the goo...
