I have to take zantac150 and i have random drug test at work and ive heard it will make you fail a drug test. I was just concerned. And need to know ASAP! ## It is not a common occurence, but yes, the Ranitidine, which is the active ingredient in Zantac can cause a false positive for Amphetamines, it really depends on the reliability of the test. I am on celexa 40mg daily, trazadone 100mg daily, and I take excedrin daily for generalized pain. I went for a job interview and tested positive nfor methamphetamine. How is this? ## I cannot give you a definitive answer, since this site is not medical professionals, nor are we chemists, however, this has happened a lot recently to many, many people. The only thing I have been able to conclude is that there may be a bad batch of tests on the market. We have had posts from people who are taking narcotic opiates, which they are often tested for in pain management, to make sure they aren't selling them and they have had their tests come up negative, making their docs think they aren't taking them. I have a script for Lortabs, but failed my drug test for opiates and oxy... I am currently taking antibiotics (keflex) and acyclovir for feaver blisters, would either one of those make me fail a drug test for oxy??? ## No, neither the Keflex, nor the Acyclovir have been known to cause false positives for anything. My husband has been on methadone for 8 months at 10-15 mg per day. He recently has gotten put on probation and has to come off of it. I am a client at the methadone clinic & I take my med as prescribed & I don't take any other narcotics/prescriptions & have always passed my u.a's. I took 4 tagamet HD pills about 2 hours before taking a drug test & when I got results back, it said I had failed with oxymorphone. I did not take anything else besides tagamet. I failed a urine test at my pain management Dr for methamphetamine which I do not use. The result was 517 NG/ML on the first test so I demanded a second test that came back 193 NG/ML. Nobody ever asked what medications I am taking and the lab report states no prescribed medications listed. I am taking Reglan 5mg 30 minutes before a meal and Lortab 10mg, Oxycodone 30mg, Xanax 1mg, Ambien 10mg and occasionally Soma 350mg. I have also taken Amoxicillin 500mg for a tooth ache. I have had a route-n y gastric bypass with 85% of my stomach detached. Can any of this cause me to fail my urine test twice. I took a hair follicle and they said i failed it with methamphetamine. What will show up as methamphetamine other than methamphetamine? ## Hair drug testing is good at isolating a particular substance which basically means there are very few false positives. I don't know of a substance that would give a false positive for methamphetamine. ## Bath salts will fail as methamphetamine. And if you have a lot of daytime cold meds sometimes that can make a negative failed test. ## I've just been told I tested positive for amphetamines and all I've taken is Tramadol.

I just got out of jail and did not use, but was dirty for methamphetamine. I do take Wellbutrin. How does this happen? ## I don't know but it sure does. And causes a lot of undue stress. Yesterday I took 26mg of concerta 2 hrs before a drug screen. It was a 5 panel pre-employment test. Will I test positive for amphetamines/methamphetamines?? Can phenylephrine show a false positive for phentermine? ## I just got bacl from my p.o. And I put clean urine in a nasal spray bottle because I thought it would be easy to get away with... Well I ended up failing for suboxone so I don't recommend anyone doing that. Just a warning... ## I took Sudafed PE the day before I had my monthly drug test and it didn't show up as a false positive for anything. They do say that the phenylephrine may cause a false positive for methamphetamine but it didn't on me. I asked the nurse about this when I went in and she told me if you buy the Sudafed that's behind the counter that you have to sign for that. It will show up as methamphetamine because it's what people use to make methamphetamine. Hope that helps you out.
