looking for a family dr to manage pain in indiana
My family dr died the day before my appt. I have been going to him for 10 years and he had managed my pain with oxycontin and percocet. It seems a lot has changed in 10 years trying to find a dr and it seems that pain clinics that want to run you through mill with expensive unecesary tests are the only options. If anyone knows of a dr who is realistic and understand chronic pain in the Southern indiana or Louisville ky area any reccomendations would be appreciated. Thanks ## I'm sorry, but due to the new regulations that were put in place this year, a PCP is not going to be able to prescribe such medications for you. Anyone that requires them on a long-term ongoing basis will have to see a pain management specialist. There's just no longer any way around it and that means you... ...

What would be a logical change in meds for my pain?
I have reverse swan neck and it has caused 3 herniated discs in my neck. I currently take 3 10 mg percocets daily and 2 20 mg opana ER's. I'm not really getting the relief I'd like. What would be a logical upgrade in my meds? ## Although I don't have personal experience with these types of medications, I thought I'd still go ahead and post a list of other possible options for you. Some types of opioid drugs include: codeine (only available in generic form) fentanyl (Actiq, Duragesic, Fentora) hydrocodone (Lorcet, Lortab, Norco, Vicodin) hydromorphone (Dilaudid, Exalgo) meperidine (Demerol) methadone (Dolophine, Methadose) morphine (Avinza, Kadian, MS Contin, Ora-Morph SR) oxycodone (OxyContin, Oxyfast, Percocet, Roxicodone) I think there's some speculation as to ... ...

Looking for methadone doctor in jacksonville fl
Hi all. I'm really hoping someone here can help me. I suffer from a protruding disc and degenerative disc disease in my lower back. I've been in pain management programs since 2011. At one point, my oxy use got to the point where I was using 100+mg daily. Once I realized that I couldn't continue on the path that I was on, I voluntarily got myself in to a suboxone/subutex program in Jacksonville, Fl. Right away, I realized that I couldn't take the suboxone because of the headaches that it gave me, but the subutex worked amazing for withdrawls and does help to make the pain more manageable. Now that I've been on it for nearly 8 months months, I've been considering methadone as an alternative because my insurance only agreed to pay for the subs for up to one year. I... ...

Doctors Who Would Prescribe Morphine in Indiana
I live in northeast Indiana, Fort Wayne area. My father, 59, has been on varying dosages of morphine since 2005, due to a back injury he got in 1989. As a chronic pain patient, morphine is the one drug that has been able to help him obtain at least some standard of living. The doctor (Dr. William Hedrick) and pain clinic that provided his morphine are now out of business, due to his medical license being suspended for, among other things, dangerous prescribing practices. While my father still has a small quantity of Oxycodone (10 mg three times a day, if I'm not mistaken), but that's not nearly enough to improve his quality of life. Does anyone have any suggestions what to do at this point? He's disheartened, as it took him five years to find a doctor to prescribe the medica... ...

Need a doctor in Arkansas Missouri for chronic pain
I originally wrote on 3/16/14 looking for a pain doctor in north central Arkansas or southern Missouri...I live in Mountain Home, AR & am willing to drive to Springfield MO or as far south as Little Rock AR, as far west as Fayetteville or as far east as Jonesboro. I moved from California to Arkansas to be with my sister a year ago & am still unable to find a doctor here who will prescribe the meds I was taking in CA, which were 60 mg MSContin twice daily, 350 mg Soma three times daily, and 1-2 10 mg oxycodone every 4 hrs, plus a 3rd one 45 minutes later if I really needed it. It is like the twilight zone here in AR; every doctor thinks you're a drug addict even though I have all my surgery records, films, discharge instructions (I'd been in a nursing home for 2 yrs befor... ...

How are you? Did you mean 20mgs of Methadone? It does not come in grams. There is no hard and fast rule for pain management, it is up to your doctor and what they think would work best for you.
