splitting percocet
I am taking oxycodo-APAP 10-325 ,a generic for Percocet. It is an oval shape withM523 on one side and 10/325 on the other. My Dr. said I could split the pill if it is too strong. But there is no score line. Can or should this pill be spit to receive half the dosage? ## The best advice I can give is to listen to what your doctor said. From personal experience when there was no score line on a pill I would still cut in half if it was too strong and simply take half the dose. I don't think you should worry if your doctor gave you the ok to do so. After splitting the pill in half, just be sure to follow your doctors orders on when to take the pill every so many hours. ...

The FDA has done nothing to the existing Roxicodone, or its generics on the market in any dosage. They are still the same as they have always been. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Purdue has changed the Oxycontin formulation, but even it doesn't contain anything that will make a person go into withdrawals. Where did you get such information? ## thats what you think look it up the fda has pulled all opiods in february 2012 said they made them to big or to strong and replaced them in all drugstore's to me i think they r like methodone iv bin takeing them for 4 year's. now ther weak. ## No, bandit... ...

what do i do. PAIN HELP
What Oxycotin mg is Equal To 100mg Morphine Er ## The Oxycodone in the Oxycontin is actually one and half times stronger than the Morphine, so you would require a lower dosage of it, thus the conversion would be 66.67mgs of Oxycontin. Dilaudid changes
Hello , my doctor had me on 10 mg of oxyneo for chronic pain in my arm. It's was never enough for me. Anyway , I had thyroid surgery neck dissection for cancer. My neck hurts a lot from surgery so my doctor put me on dilaudid 6mg extended release and 4 to 8 mg every 4 hours through out the day. 8 mg helps for about an hour. Should I discuss raising the extended release to 12 mg for more releif ? ## You need to tell your dr if the pain medication isn't helping the pain like it is suppose to. He is the best one to decide what changes need to be made. ## Thanks I will do that. I think if they raise my mg I should be ok. The doctor is starting me off at a low dose , then gradually move it up. Is 8 mg every 4 hours with 12 mg extended release every 12 hours a lot? Or is that dose ok?... ...

What you have to do is play around yourself and see what works best to manage your pain. You may need to take them on a rigid schedule, or you may be able to have a little more leeway. Has your doctor made any suggestions? ...

Is this unsafe?
Is it unsafe to take eight 10mg oxycodone pills in an eight hour span? Is this unusual or harmful? Would this be considered drug abuse? I'm worried about one of my friends. ## Not necessarily dangerous. Doses go that high. More important is why your friend needs this much pain medication and why the MD who wrote the script isn't addressing the problem adequately. ## It could be unsafe, if the person is not used to taking that much, so their body has no tolerance to the medication. And it could be considered abuse if they have not been prescribed that many to be taken in the short of a time period. Learn more Oxycodone details here. Yes, there are higher dosages of it available, as was stated, but normally just a higher dosage pill would be prescribed. Someone is not usually pres... ...

I ran out of my pain meds which are Oxycodone 10/325 and found some 30mg Morphine IR. I have been taking the Morpine every 3-4 hours but have taken 6 since 5 this morning. EST. It is now 12:30 I haven't taken one since 8 and am hurting. Is it reasonable to take one now? I know I wont sleep with this pain. ## Yes, for the immediate release Morphine you should be okay to take it (4 1/2 hours after your last dose) - unless the dosage instructions specifically state "do not take more than xxx per 24 hours". Hope that makes sense. I know you asked this a couple days ago, but how are you doing now? Wishing you good health! ...

Suboxone overdose?
I was taking (1) 5 mg of oxycodone a day for 10 months for countless surgeries. When I tried to stop taking the 1 pill a day I would go through extreme pain muscel and nerve pain that felt like my body was on fire and would not allow me to sleep. Even with trying sleep aids like Tylenol pm and Benadryl. I went to the doctor to see if he could prescribe something to help me sleep through the night. He put me on (2) 8 mg a day of suboxone. I only took the (1) 5 mg pill at night. I took my first 8 mg strip 24 hours after my last oxy on Tuesday night. About an hour after that I began projectile vomiting, felt drunk, horrible headache, server itching that kept me up all night. I called the doctor who gave me anti nausea med and have still been vomiting everything up since it is now 48 hour l... ...

Tolerance Level
I was prescribed 15 mg oxycontin 3x per day along with 10 mg oxycodone up to 3x per day. I didn't seem to need to oxycodone at first but a week later I find myself taking it all 3 times. Could I have become tolerant to the 15mg oxycontin already? ## I doubt you've developed a tolerance that fast, but your body may have gotten more used to it, so the affect isn't as pronounced as it first was. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Addiction and Withdrawals
I have been on 20mg of oxycontin and 10mg of oxycodone for pain and I had rotator cuff surgery 5 weeks ago. I thought I'd cut back on the meds and experienced the withdrawals. Now I'm not sure what to do? I need the pain meds for my physical therapy so going off them isn't possible although I think I'm tolerant and it hardly works for my pain after p.t. I'm seeing my pain management Dr. on Wednesday and I'm not sure what I should do? Ask for help cutting back, increase the dose but not 3 times daily? I just don't know? . ...
