Hi, it's Kel again. I wrote earlier but now I am here with a different topic amd would like some opinions. I was recently switched (2 days ago actually) from being on Percocet 10-325 4xd to MSContin 15er & Percocet 7.5 4xd for BT. My Dr. was going to go ahead & start me at 60 mg of the MSContin and take my Percocet down. I freaked out due to just beinh another "new" drug. I habe to many chronic conditions to write but I can honestly say I am about to have 2 major surgies. And he is wanting me to get that Neuro Implant device. My question is, this is just my 3rd dose of the MSContin (morphine sulf er 15 mg) and I am truly not feeling that much of pain relief even when I take my now reduced Percocet dosage. I am on other medications as well, Klonopin being one. I think...

Can I take MS Contin 15 mg and Norco 10-325 together or should I space them out over the day? ## They can be taken together, if they have both been prescribed for you. However, as reported by the NIH, taking them together may result in your experiencing more severe side effects, which may include nausea, dizziness, headache, and sedation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Does it take some time to build up in the system for this medication to start working for pain? I have just started taking them today, 1 every 12 hours. Thank you for any information that you can give me. ## Hi gwen, While it's certainly going to take some time for it to fully build up in your system, I would think that you should at least be able to feel or notice some sensation of relief within a short period of time after taking your dose. However, because MS Contin is timed released and usually lasts up to 12 hours, it's time-release effect could also be minimizing how much is absorbed into your system at any given moment; making it seem like it's not working as well as it should be. That's my theory anyways...But in the event that you're just not getting any rel...

These dont seem to work can you take every 8hrs instead of 12hrs ## Hi Mike, It sounds to me like the dosage may not be strong enough for you; but to answer your question, the usual adult dose for pain is 5 to 30 mg every 3 to 4 hours as needed (when taking it Orally, Sublingual, or Buccal). The dosing indications for MS Contin (Morphine Oral) also state that "extended-release" tablet dosages range from 10 mg to 600 mg daily, given in equally divided doses every 8 to 12 hours or given as one dose every 24 hours. So depending on whether or not your tablets are extended-release, you should have some flexibility with the hours. I hope this helps! ## They are extend release ## If anyone is looking for a "buzz" with MS Contin, you are very unlikely to get it. These pills are ...

can meloxicam be taken with celecoxib ? ## Hi John, According to umm.edu's drug interaction checker, there are no interactions listed between Celecoxib and Meloxicam. This is not to say that no interactions exist period, but based on these findings I don't see any reason why you couldn't take them together unless instructed otherwise by your prescribing doctor. Also, as long as it was the same doctor who prescribed both meds, I highly doubt he/she would give you anything that couldn't be taken at the same time or at least within the same day, for safety reasons. They have to watch their own back just as much for risk of litigation if they ever did prescribe two contradicting drugs. I hope this helps!

I've been taking Meloxicam for about three days now, for wrist pain. I had an MRI and it showed two small cysts in my wrist. The pain is still there, and it's nearly unbearable since I work in production. Should I ask my Dr. For something else, or continue to take it and hope for the best? I've read about melocxicam and it seems to work for people with arthritis, but I have cysts. Did my Dr. Make the right call? ## Hello, Casey! How are you feeling? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. If you are diagnosed with migraine by your physician, he/she may give you a prescription for a medication that specifically treats migraines. Such medications help alleviate both the headache and related symptoms, including nausea. I suggest you see your family doctor first. ## Hello, Jan! How are you? Checking if OK to take these together: meloxicam 15 mg, naproxen 500 mg, and benedryl 25 mg ## No, you shouldn't take the Meloxicam and the Naproxen together, both of those are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, so it's basically doubling up on the same thing and is completely unnecessary. Additionally, they both increase blood thinning and taking them together heightens that effect, they also both increase serum potassium, which is also heightened by taking both and too much potassium building up in your body is very dangerous. The Meloxicam also increases your levels of the Naproxen… You can learn more Meloxicam details here and you can learn more Naproxen details here. I hope that is enough to give you the idea that combining them is a bad idea. :-)...
