I have been on Cymgen for several years and reduced my dose from 90mg to 60mg about 3 years ago. I was on prozac for two years -- a gradual increase from 0 to 60mg. At first it worked and then it seemed to stop working (for depression). I started to become more depressed than I was before (loss of appetite, sleeping more, no motivation etc.) and my doctor decided to switch me from Prozac to Effexor saying that the transition would be fine. I went from taking 60mg of prozac one day to the next taking 225mg of Effexor. The result was not good. For the next couple days I had extremely blurred vision/ I couldn't go outside because the sun hurt my eyes. It was hard for me to go from lying down to standing up and four days after starting the 225mg I had a seizure in the shower. Despite this, my doctor insisted that this was because I wasn't eating/hydrating properly and sleeping ...

My son is 14 and has been taking Vyvanse for about one year now. His current dose is 60mg daily.
