Hi can anybody tell me if they have suffered memory problems after coming off Lyrica? 4 months clear of it now but still can be in middle of conversation and forget what I was talking about. Can this still be related to coming off the drug after this length of time? ## @woffymum you are definitely NOT alone. Check out this related discussion thread which is getting a lot of activity: Does Anyone Taking Lyrica Have Memory Loss ?

I'm wanting to hear from anyone who has winged off of lyrica after so many mths taking it. I have had it with the med. I've gained 35 lbs in 4 mths. I never gain wt. I have sever numbness in hands and feet and swolleness. It's scary! I ran out one time with out getting refill, though I'd just stop it and start another tx. Well very wrong. I got so sick. I was having withdrawels and I had to get back on it. At the time it was worth getting back on it quickly to feel better. Plus the other side effects hadn't kicked in yet and not so severely. I'm worried it will be difficult to get off of it. ## I took it for fibromyalgia. Although it did help my flareup tremendously. The side effects are too much. ## thanks Verwon that was the exact imformation I was looking for....

I took 250 to 300 mg of lyrica daily for fibromyalgia, for 9 years. I have stopped due to medicare supplement insurance doesn't cover it. My Dr. weaned me off over the summer. Now I may not pursue other meds to replace it. It's been 6 weeks since my last dose. I can't eat. Nothing tastes good most days. I had welts during withdrawal, which my hands constantly went to from anxiety. So I'm still healing from those. Many other withdrawals as well. My question is, how long will the lyrica stay with me? When can I really judge that it's the real me, not the withdrawing me or the damaged from years of lyrica me? So glad I'm off it now. ## How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? Are you on any other medications? It is odd for the effects of it to still linger...

I need help I was prescribed 20 mg of oxynorm & have increased it to 40 & can't tell the family. What can I do to get back down again without withdrawal? ## jodie Ann dont feel bad, many times dr.s dont realize that we arent getting a correct dose of medicine to control the pain. I dont know how many days you have until you get your next script, but i can give you some ideas to help get you through, and it will be rough a it's very hard to hide from family. First you need some generic immodium it called loperamide it's about 4$ a bottle, it will stop the diarrhea also it will help help the receptors in your body. Some ppl take it in high doses, just google Loperimade for withdawl and you can get a sense of what a correct dose is for you. Also if you have lyrica or ne...

I've taken Gabapentin for 12 years increasing every time the pain worsened. In December my dose was 3600mg daily plus 600mg Lyrica. My trigeminal neuralgia pain was getting worse so i had brain surgery in December 2015. A week later on doctors instructions i eliminated one Gabapentin a week, then one Lyrica a week.. for the last three weeks i have been so nauseous i am miserable.. How long can this last? Is there any over the counter relief? ## After being on it for so many years, it may take over a month for all your withdrawal symptoms to go away. As reported by the FDA, they may also include fever, diarrhea and rebound pain. I'm not sure what might help with the nausea. Possibly Bonine, if your doctor approves of you trying it. Its typical side effects may include dizziness, ...

I am on day 8 of suboxone withdrawal. Last night I finally got some sleep after several Nyquil and a lyrical. I took 8 days off of work to go thru this but thought I'd feel much better than I do at this point. I HAVE TO go back to work tomorrow and don't k ow how I'll make it thru. I'm taking vitamins b-6, b12 and ginseng tablets. The RLS has become less severe but the anxiety is at its worst! I started suboxone about a year ago for help to get off 3 year addiction to Norco. I keep reading about weeks/months long wd...really???? I don't know what to do! Any advise on regaining a functioning level of energy and comfort immediately? Just hoping it's possible. ## This is only my suggestion from my experience getting through withdrawal symptoms from opiates. Anytime ...

I have just got prescribed to lyrica from my doctor for going through withdrawals off of xanax. Is this a good idea? ## Hello, T man! How are you? Lyrica is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, mood swings and weight gain. It would seen your doctor prescribed it to try to help alleviate some of the typical issues that can occur, when stopping a benzodiazepine, including the possible risk of seizures that doing so can cause. Mood swings and anxiety are also possibilities. Is it helping?

I've been taking 75mg pregabalin for three months now. How do I come off them without getting any side effects ? ## I have been taking 75mg. of Lyrica three times a day for about three months, and I want to stop it. How do I safely stop it to avoid withdrawal systoms? I have had blistered skin, fever, chills, headache, mood changes, just about the worse side effects listed. The fever is into the fourth week, I cry easily, I am depressed, I can not eat as I have so much gas that if I make myself eat, I vomit. Yes, it fixed my cold feet I have suffered from with Diabetic neuropathy for years. But, my life has become miserable. ## Hello, Arnie and Kathy! How are you both? A slow taper is usually best, if you've been taking it for a few months, or longer. Have you spoken with your re...

Hi everyone, I am still on a progressing prootcol of Lyrica. I'm presently at 250mg a day.Till the Lyrica gets to the best pain management dosage, my doctor put me also on 6 acetaminophen (Tylenol) plus codeine a day. My question is "has anyone of you been able to completely get off the Tylenol and codeine after getting to the right dosage of Lyrica? " I am taking the Lyrica for nerve damage due to advanced spinal stenosis. I am also on 100mg of NaproxenE a day. Thanks in advance for your replies! ## Oops... 1000mg of Naproxen a day ## It is normal for your body to get used to anything that you take for a long period of time, even if you only use it as prescribed and a sudden cessation may cause some withdrawal and rebound effects. Generally, when trying to stop taking a nar...

I've been taking lyrica everyday for around 7 months. I've tried to stop taking them and the withdrawal symptoms are so severe I couldn't bare it after 5 days. apart from severs sweating feeling sick and aching all over, its the hallucinations and feeling like you are going to die. I mean really thinking you are going to have a heart attack. I could see my aura and time goes by so slowly it's worse then any opiate withdrawals. I was terrified and went back on them. I take 500 to 100 mg a day. I must get off them. I can't stand it. I worry that if I had to go into a hospital I would start withdrawing and I wouldn't be able to get them. Can you help me? What can I do? ## Hello, Debz! How are you doing? I'm sorry about what you're going through. The FDA clas...

I stopped taking a 300 mg twice a day dose of gabapentin last tues. I feel awful depressed sweaty moody irritated emotional very dizzy. How long will I keep feelin this way? My doc had me stop it right away, because I was suppose to go on lyrica. Which honestly I don't want to start taking pain or no pain. I started slurring my words on the gabapentin then felt like wherever I was, I was inside a bubble it was a terrible feeling ## If you have been on it for such a short period of time, they shouldn't last more than a few days, perhaps a week at most. but it can vary from person to person, so I can only give an average from other anecdotal reports. Lyrica is in the same class, so it may or may not cause the same type of problem for you, there's really no way to know without ...

Its been a real struggle the withdrawel is horrible terrible sweats dripping dwn my face my hair soaking. If i new all this about this drug i wudve never go on it.. Good luck to any1 that succeeds to getin of this drug.. ## Hello, Gina! How are you? How rapid of a taper have you been doing? Properly done, a taper should eliminate most of the withdrawal effects. i guarantee it is addictive. I went off thinking it wasn't and suffered worse withdrawals than coming off oxycocdone. ## Lyrica, which contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, is an anticonvulsant, which is also used to treat nerve pain, anxiety and as a mood stabilizer. It is not a narcotic, however, it has been known to cause withdrawal effects in people that have been taking it for a long period of time, when they stop taking it abruptly. This happens, because your body gets used to anything you ingest on a regular basis and if you stop using it, your body has to readjust to not having that substance. It is called dependence. More details: Have things improved for you? ## Lyrica is addictive in the extreme. But true: Lyrica not a narcotic. It is an anti-convulsant with sedative...

I have been taking Pregabalin for 15 months at 150 mg daily. I had my hip replaced two months ago and no longer need the meds. How do I taper off, step by step, so as to minimize side effects? ## Lyrica is quite easy to come off. Your Dr could prescribe a lower dose for two weeks or what I did was drop one pill a day for two weeks, then two pills a day for two weeks and so on. I had a bit of a headache but no problem. ## Hello, Rod! How are you? And thanks to Eunie for your helpful response. One caution I would like to add is to please do not stop this medication cold turkey, since it is an anticonvulsant, though it also helps with nerve pain, a sudden withdrawal could cause seizures. Typical side effects to this medication, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, mood swin...

Been on these meds for about 6 weeks on and off lyrica 225mg twice a day and clorazapate 7.5 twice a day. Am I physically dependent I want to be off them ## Hello, Bam! How are you? Both of these should be stopped slowly, via a taper, because stopping abruptly can create the risk of seizures. Thus, it would be best to consult your prescriber, so they can help you stop them carefully. The FDA lists other withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, fever, chills, depression and anxiety. Is there anything else I can help with?

can you stop it immediately or taper off ## Hi Pat, Due to the number of complaints regarding withdrawal symptoms associated with Lyrica, I would highly recommend that you taper off this dangerous drug instead of stopping it abruptly. Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. It may also be a good idea to talk to your doctor or pharmacist about writing up a tapering schedule for you on a calendar to give you an idea of how long it might take before you can safely stop taking it. I hope this helps! ## Hi Pat, I have bee...

I had surgery 4 weeks ago. I've been taking Oxycontin 10 mg 2 X's a day. And then Oxycodone 5 mg every 4 hrs. I'm also on Lyrica 2 X's a day. The oxycodone I try to push it 6-8 hrs but then I get nausea. I keep taking it different every time trying to trick my body out of an addictive routine. Not sure if that works, but I will try anything. However I am not sure which is more addictive, Contin, Codone or Lyrica and how do I wean from all of them?. One more thing, for the last 2 days I have hives, an itchy rash all over my body. Which one would cause that? ## Hello, Jaime! How are you? Oxycontin and Oxycodone are the same medication, Oxycontin is just a time released formulation of it. A slow taper to stop is best to prevent withdrawal symptoms and your doctor should be ...

Hi, As you know with Lyrica orgasm are difficult to achieve, in some cases I used to push myself for hours to attain climax. I had been taking lyrica for a year and i stopped 2 weeks ago. I am a 33 yrs old male. Problem: since i stopped taking lyrica, i started feeling some of the withdawel side effects such as: dizziness, drouziness, anxiaety, trouble breathing. ESPECIALLY AFTER HAVING AN ORGASM. (if i do not have an orgasm for a while all withdrawal effects cool down) this is very annoying and i am seeking help! thanks, sam ## I am sorry, but there is really no help for this, other than to let the effects wear off as your body adjusts to no longer having the medication. You said you stopped 2 weeks ago and it can take a month or more for such effects to wear off and your body to retur...

I took Lyrica (150mg daily) for 2 years. The medicine helped reduce my leg and hip gain greatly. In January I started working out daily and dieting and lost 30 pounds. I gradually have quit taking Lyrica and am having only a small amount of discomfort at times. The problem is that upon quitting the Lyrica the back of my knees started itching and welps appeared after I scratched them. It has been 3 weeks since I stopped taking Lyrica and I am still itchy. Has this happened to anyone else? Could this be a result of nerve damage? ## Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, it is an anticonvulsant that has also been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain. It sounds like what you may be experiencing is a common withdrawal effect from your body trying to readjust to not havin...

I had shingles in my head and part of my face ner eye area I started taking 75 Gm twice a day then I took it once a day, and now I am taking 25 Gm twice a day, I want to stop it. ## In my opinion, such a low dose. Try one 25 gm a day for a few days and then nothing. ## I can only assume you didn't mean grams, gm, but rather mgs, as in milligrams. Can you please post back and clarify? At such a low dose, there should not be any need to taper. The FDA warns that the typical withdrawal effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, fever, and chills. ## Hi, I have been tapering from 2x75mg a day for 5weeks then dropped to 2x50mg, now on 2 weeks of 1x25mg then stop all together.
