I have been prescribed Lyrica for over 4 years. Before this I had near perfect teeth - save for a few cavities. After about a year of taking the highest dose 3x my teeth started to get "brittle" and would simply break off while eatingor simply fall out sometimes. I have a high tolerance to hydrocodone but have a 5mg norco and a 300mg lyrica. If I take them both will I feel the hydrocodone? ## Neither one blocks the other, but you should not take this combination, unless your doctor approves. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Norco as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. It also carries the risk of being habit forming. can you stop it immediately or taper off ## Hi Pat, Due to the number of complaints regarding withdrawal symptoms associated with Lyrica, I would highly recommend that you taper off this dangerous drug instead of stopping it abruptly. Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. It may also be a good idea to talk to your doctor or pharmacist about writing up a tapering schedule for you on a calendar to give you an idea of how long it might take before you can safely stop taking it. I had been on 75mg of lyrica and 100gr of tramadol for about one year. I was mostly in severe pain due to a severed nerve that a lady dentist did to me in Canada. I was on 100mg of lyrica every 4 hrs. before that for only two months.but couldn't afford $350.00/mo the cost of lyrica. I started back on the 100mg of lyrica about 3 months ago. I take 75mg Lyrica for nerve pain in my legs and feet. This is keeping me up for hours at night. I cannot go to sleep for 2-3 hours after going to bed. I've been taking naproxen and lyrica for shingles pain, but my blood pressure is up and I have swelling on my left side. Do these meds interact? ## No, I didn't find any interactions listed between them, but it is always best to double check. Both pain, and a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory can cause you to have elevated blood pressure, according to FDA and AMA reports. How high is your blood pressure and how much Naproxen are you taking? The FDA also warns that Lyrica can cause hypertension, though it is a very rare side effect. It could be that this just isn't the right medication combination for you. Have you tried an antiviral for the Shingles? It can often help shorten the duration of them, and lessen the symptoms.

I took a 150 mg lyrica for the first time. at first I thought it wasn't working until an hour later. I started getting a little jittery and then I had a burst of energy!!! I felt like I was on speed all day long. Started 2005 600mg of Lyrica for three years asked Dr. to go down to 400mg. 4 weeks ago New Neurologist-Just went down to 200mg now 100mg-going off. Dr. said combination of the other meds I'm on is deadly. You really have to advocate for yourself. Never go to Dr. alone. If you don't mind me asking, what exactly are you taking it for that has to do with burning? From what I've read, the maximum "recommended" dose is listed at 100mgs three times daily (or 300mgs). It doesn't say you can't take a higher dose (they just don't recommend it unless your doctor draws that conclusion based on your individual response and how well you tolerate it). I have been on Lyrica for about 3 weeks now for neuropathic pain. I am an MS patient and the Lyrica is helping. I have had side effects of weight gain and sleepiness. I may have to increase my dosage because I am still having a little pain. I have had a couple of blackouts when the dosage was too high. I just got on Lyrica 50mg twice a day and my pain has pretty much dissapeared.
