Can taking clolazapam affect the outcome of my inr? ## Hello, Susan! How are you? Yes, Clonazepam has been known to cause thrombocytopenia in some people that take it. You may need to switch to a different medication, or lower your Warfarin dosage, if you take it. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I am an active 41 yr old male who has been on coumadin for 9 years and now believe it lowers my mood and confidence. I originally believed my changes in mood and confidence were associated with my open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve and the life changes and trauma one would expect after such an event at 32 yrs old. But recently i was allowed to come off coumadin for a little over a week to have a back surgery. My INR was normal after 3 days giving me 5 days with my normal blood again. My confidence about the surgery, myself and outlook on life and my business changed enough for me to notice reminding me of how i felt before open heart surgery. Solid is the word i would use. The morning after returning to take coumadin again, a couple days after back surgery, i woke up with a f...

I was put on Warfarin after a stroke in 2003. I worked very hard to keep my INR just right, it takes a lot of work. Eating green leafy vegies drives the INR down, so you would have to add higher daily dosage to get it back. If it gets to high they will tell you to stop taking for a couple days. Shortly after starting to take Warfarin I noticed discoloration on lower legs (my chemical tan). Then a little over a year later I started having headaches that were not normal. The kind that if you were driving and came to an intersection, you could not turn your head without discomfort. I went in and asked if I should have a CAT scan. They said if they saw anything they would call, and I live less than a mile from hospital. When I got home they were on the phone and requesting that I come back ...

my husband takes warfarin daily, we are wondering if taking diatomaceous earth to help lower cholesterol and blood pressure with his warfarin would effect anything? ## Unfortunately, this is just a supplement product, so it has not actually been checked for interactions with prescription drugs. Thus, the best advice I can give would be that he check with his doctor or pharmacist, before taking it. Learn more Warfarin details here. When taking Warfarin, one's INR can be very touchy, so it's always best to be cautious. Are there any other questions or comments? ## Verwon supplements are so popular today they should know if DE would interact with warfarin um I mean RAT poison.......... And, why is it that almost all crucial supplements like Vitamin K2 have a negative effect on warf...

Another day, another blood test! Father, 82, had an ICD fitted Oct '15 after 6 week check he was started on blood thinner Sintrom Dec '15. Initial dose of 14g reduced to 10g, then 9g. INR today was 5.9 & re-test was 6.3! After discussion with hospital he has now been prescribed1g/day for 14 days then another good test. How long does it usually take to settle on a dose that keeps the INR stable between 2.0 & 3.0. ## Should read Sintron. Dark U/A prompted a clinic visit last Sunday. Nurse said this was common. Strip test showed no probs. INR was 6+ then 5+ & finally 2.9 which got me thinking as to the accuracy of the testers (see other discussion). The lower INR is the first time it's been between the goal of 2 & 3 which is great & perhaps shows the decreas...

Have been taking warfarin for quite a few years now for antiphospholipid syndrome. I have recently had quite extensive dental work done. I have had lots of issues with bleeding which resulted in my having a vitamin k shot, and a few trips to A & E. Can anyone tell me the difference between having blood taken by finger price or taken intravenously? Yesterday I had to have my INR repeated at the dentist request. Taken by finger it was 1.7 which is low and out of range for me. The I had to have bloods done and my INR intravenously came out at 4.2!! so which is the correct reading?? I Have been told not to take any warfarin for 2 days. If I went along according to the finger price test, the clinic was going to boost my warfarin dose? none of this makes sense to me. Can anyone help with ...

I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my leg and it busted and went to my lungs (pe) in February. So I've been on this medicine ever since. But recently I lost my job and insurance, and meds are $440 dollars for a one month supply. I haven't taken any meds for 3 or 4 days, and I'm starting to feel some of the effects of i guess my blood thickening. What should I do before it's too late? ## I would suggest contacting your doctor, there are cheaper alternatives that can be prescribed, such as Warfarin. While it does require more frequent INR monitoring the price for it is much lower in most areas of the U.S. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased risk of bleeding. Is there anything else I can help with? How ar...
