Since the past year, I have gained much of the 40 pounds back that I had previously loss. Furthermore, my blood pressure was more controlled with the ACE Inhibitor. Please help. I'm thinking about seeking help frim a homeopathic doctor. ## Weight gain can be a normal side effect of most blood pressure and cardiac medications, but that usually levels out around 10 pounds, or so. The FDA lists the other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension. Are you on any other medications? Do you keep your diet low in sodium and fat?

I was wondering if I can safely take CB1 along with prescription drugs? ## Can I take CB 1 pills even I'm taking a Blood Pressure medicine like Losartan ? ## Since it is an over the counter supplement that is not FDA approved, there have not been any studies done regarding its safety when combined with prescription medications. The main issue here is do you really need to gain weight? As in, are you underweight, right now? Since you mentioned Losartan and high blood pressure, it is very important that you know it is not safe to gain excess weight, when you have such a cardiac condition, because extra weight is very taxing on your heart and circulatory system, so it could worsen such a condition, and cause new ones to occur. The American Heart Association has some great information a...

Just started taking losartan 1/2 pill 12.5mg by a new manufacturer AuRobindo and I cannot stop coughing. I stopped them 2 days ago and still have a lingering cough. ## Hello, Snookie! How are you doing? Has there been any change? That can be a normal side effect of this medication, according to FDA reports. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and increased urination. If you need to take a medication like this for high blood pressure, or a cardiac condition, however, it would be best to see your doctor about trying a different one. ## Thanks, I really hate the medication, I've gained weight and have low energy. My heart doesn't pump hard enough I've been thinking about talking to the Dr about a pacemaker. We'll see what he thinks about that.

I started Losartan (50 mg/1 per day) in May, after battling the Lisinopril cough for 2 months. I have had a lot of pain in my feet and my achilles tendon on one ankle. I also have gained weight and have increased appetite. I also have pain in my knees. What is a good substitute for Losartan? Is it possible that these things I have described are caused by Losartan? Also, what about fatigue? Thank youi. ## Hello, CJ! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. Yes, it could be due to the Losartan, it does sometimes cause these types of issue as side effects in some people that take it. I experienced similar issues from several blood pressure/cardiac medications, too. Atacand is a similar medication, it contains the active ingredient Candesartan, it's also available as a generi...

Learn more Losartan details here. Have you talked to your doctor about it? It just may not be the right medication for you and you may need to switch to something else. ## This is very interesting to read. I was looking for different side effects because I'm having trouble with serious muscle and joint pains, but have also gained about 12 pounds and eat constantly. Ever since taking I have been gaining weight like crazy and have had back pain, could it be from meds? ## Hello, William! How are you? Sorry about the problems you're having. Yes, it could be from the medication. Most blood pressure medications can cause weight gain and some of them can cause joint or muscle aches. Learn more Losartan details here. Have you discussed your symptoms with your doctor? They should be able to determine if they are due to the medication and, if so, prescribe an alternative that isn't known to cause such side effects as frequently. ## I've only been taking the meds for a few days but have been eating like a horse! Going to have to watch my food intake and exercise more, I guess. Goody!

I have been on Lotrel (10/20) for several years and have experienced several side effects - mostly mild but in combination - I finally decided it was time to re- evaluate and consider other options. The side effects were numbness and tingling in the feet, dry mouth and jittery for 6 hours post dosing, bad taste and significant change in taste, nocturia, occasional dizziness and weight gain... The doctor prescribed Losartan 100mg. As this is he same class as one of my drugs on Lotrel, it seems counter-intuitive to put me on this drug. When I posed the question the doc said well you will have to deal wi other side effects with other antihypertensives. I also asked if my high BP was level 1 why was she not putting me on the 50mg dose - to mitigate side effects - and she said because my Lot...
