I take losartan hct. 100/12.5 got hip pain and rib pain on left side and iron level of 265 and cannot get any answers iam in pain most of the time what can I do? ## Hello, Joyce! How are you? I am so sorry that you're in pain. Yes, it can cause the pain like that, especially if the Hydrochlorothiazide in it is causing you to get dehydrated, because it is a diuretic that removes excess fluid from the body. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, stomach pain, and hypotension. As to your iron level, many blood pressure drugs can affect those results, so it might not be accurate. Are you feeling fatigued regularly? Extremely tired? ## Yes ## You might be dehydrated, due to the diuretic in this. How much liquids do you take in each day, not inclu... ...

What is the difference between losartan/hctz 100/12.5, white Pill, #1117 blank on other side and hyzar 100/12.5?? ## Both of the pills in question are one in the same drug. The only difference I noticed is that they are different brands/generics manufactured by different companies. Because of this, there may be a slight variation of inactive ingredients; but other than that you can be assured that they are the same drug and same dosage. Certain "inactive" ingredients that may or may not be present in each brand, are actually detrimental to how the drug is metabolized and used by your body. Because everyone is different, your body may respond favorably with one medication and not the other, due to how you feel or based on whatever side effects present themselves. NOTE: Whenever y... ...

I have been taking the 100/25 pale yellow tablet mfg by TEVA. My pharmacist claims they cannot get the tablet due to formulation problems at the mfg. I have been taking a green tablet 100mg Losartan along with a separate HCTZ tablet mag by IVAX. I have broken out in hives and itching. This is not the same formulation I was taking before. Going back to the Dr tomorrow. Has there been a report about this before? ## It certainly sounds like you may be allergic to something in one of the tablets. And yes, unfortunately, there has been a shortage. It was reported by all manufacturers a few months ago and was supposed to be resolved in a short period of time, but this obviously has not happened. They've also not provided any explanation for the shortage. It would probably be best to talk ... ...
