I was taking Watson hydrocodone acetaminophen 5mg 500,the doctor switched me to Watson 10 500 ,the white ones, but for some reason the 5s worked better than the 10s.anybody know why this is? ## Hello, Jim! How are you? No, there is nothing available to let anyone know why this is happening. It is claimed that they only removed the dye from them. Are you sure that the dosage is the same? Because as of January 1, 2014 the ones with these higher amounts of Acetaminophen are no longer available. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## I took them to 3 different pharmacies and they all said they were 10 500s,1 pharmacist said his wife was saying the same thing.I ...

Two weeks after I started taking the new white watson 10 mg lortab I began to develop blisters on the back of my hands and wrist as well as noticing that they are not near as strong. I used to take 1/2 blue pill in the morning for years but now I need two whole white ones to be able to move around. Sucks!!! I also developed white bumps on my ankles and swelling in my left foot but not painful or any itching. anyone else? ## Hi, Jo! Sorry about the problems you're having… And yes, there are plenty of other people that have posted about experiencing odd side effects from them and stating that they don't seem to be as effective. Those blisters are concerning, it could be an allergic reaction to something they've used in these ones. Have you consulted your doctor? You real...

Can we take something else to get back the 175mg of Tylenol in some way to get back the pain reliever? (Blue watson vs. white watson) if they took OUT the dye and they took OUT 175mg of the Tylenol then why is the pi;; the same size? What did they replace it with they could be causing my issues? blisters, white bumps and swelling ## Hi jo, Sorry to hear about those strange side effects you've been experiencing recently. It sounds to me like there's something drug manufacturers are not telling us. Surely it'll come out of the wood work over the next few years when the FDA decides to investigate why so many patients aren't getting any relief from these new meds. A lot of the time, certain side effects can also be associated with all the binders and fillers they put in each...

However, as to what's causing the new side effects, unfortunately I don't have an answer for you. They've been reported by many people, but Watson states that they've only removed the dye and not changed anything else. Learn more Lortab details here. Hi I am responding to the usually blue but now its white10 mg lortab Watson540 . Just want to let the skeptics know they are taking the blue dye out of them because it is poisonous to some patients my pharmacy advised me last month when my script changed ## Hi pooty, Thanks for taking the time to give us all a heads up on this! For anyone wondering, here is a list of the inactive ingredients in each (blue) Watson 540 tablet: croscarmellose sodium crospovidone magnesium stearate microcrystalline cellulose povidone starch stearic acid FD&C Blue #2 Aluminum Lake Removing the 'blue dye' alone could significantly affect how the drug is absorbed into your system; including what side effects you might be more prone to experience, compared to someone else who may react differently t...

I was getting the blue Watson Lortab 10/500 till they changed to the white ones, which do not help the pain at all. They did do something to the formula, it's not in my head. Today I found a pharmacy that has got the pink 10/500 made by Qualitist Pharm. which they took of the market back in Jan. Now they are back with 3600 on one side and a V on the other. Approx. the same price and MUCH MUCH better.THANKS QUALITIST. ## I am glad you found a brand that work for you, again. And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there is something you should be made aware of, because it will have an affect on you in the near future… By request of the FDA, all of these combination prescription medications are being changed to contain no more than 325mgs of Acetaminophen per dos...

My friend and I are both prescribed Lortab APAP10/500's. I get the Watson 540 blue pills and he gets the M363 white pills. I have taken the white ones before, but for some reason, it did not help me as much as the Watsons. I don't understand this. Besides the manufacturer, is there any real difference between the two different kinds of pills? ## Besides the difference in manufacturers, there may be a significant difference in the inactive ingredients in each pill. Inactive ingredients found in M363 are: crospovidone magnesium stearate microcrystalline cellulose povidone corn starch silicon dioxide stearic acid Each Watson 540 tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: croscarmellose sodium crospovidone magnesium stearate microcrystalline cellulose povidone starch steari...

Why would a blue lortab 10 turn white? ## Are you certain that it was blue and is a Lortab or the generic equivalent? Are there any markings on it? Some pills may change color if they are coated and get wet, so the color washes off, but I am not familiar with any Lortab made that way. ## If it's a Watson 540, then it didn't "turn" white. Watson Pharmacuticals is changing the color. The white Watson 540 is still a generic Lortab 10/500. The blue Watson 540 will continue to be sold until pharmacy supplies are depleated then Watson will replace them with the white. ## Other than the color change, do you know what else they changed? I take Lortab 10/500 1-2 every 4 hours not to exceed 7 in a day and have taken Lortabs since my injury in 2005. (The stronger meds make me eupho...

Why doesn't the white ip 119 work as good as the blue watson 540. My back pain is so bad since I switched ## There can be slight fluctuations in generic medications in the amount of the active ingredients, so it is possible that the one you're taking now has a slightly lower amount and just doesn't work as well for you. Learn more Lortab details here. How long have you been taking it? If you've been on it for awhile, it's also possible that you may have grown tolerant to it and will need to try a different medication. These will soon be changed to only contain a maximum of 325mgs of Acetaminophen, anyway, which I am thinking will cause many people to have to switch medications. ## I have jusy started taking these. I can't remember which one of my meds is the Lortab and which is the Hydrocodone. One is an oval blue pill that says Watson 540 and the other is white and says M363. Can anyone help me? ## Hi Kim. The blue pill (Watson 540) is lortab, and the white one with M363 is 10mg of hydrocodone. Both pills are essentially the same. They both contain 10mg of generic hydrocodone and 500mg of acetaminaphin (tylenol). I hope this helps you! ## The M363 is 10mg hydrocodone with 500 mg acetaminaphine. It is manufactured by the company Mallinckrodt. I was getting this at Wal-Mart pharmacy. Maybe its just pscychological but it seemed to me the Watson generic worked much better. Thats the blue oval Watson 540 you mentioned . Its also 10 mg hydrocodone & 500 mg acetaminaphine. I changed pharmacies ...
